Effect of Induction Heat Bending Process on the Properties of ASME SA106 Gr. C Carbon Steel Pipes

  • Recently, the bending process is greatly applied to fabricate the pipe line. Bending process can reduce welding joints and then decrease the number of inspection. Thus, the maintenance cost will be reduced. Induction heat bending process is composed of bending deformation by repeated local heat and cooling. By this thermal process, corrosion properties and microstructure can be affected. This work focused on the effect of induction heating bending process on the properties of ASME SA106 Gr. C low carbon steel pipes. Microstructure analysis, hardness measurements, and immersion corrosion test were performed for base metal and bended area including extrados, intrados, crown up, and down parts. Microstructure was analyzed using an optical microscope and SEM. Hardness was measured using a Rockwell B scale. Induction heat bending process has influenced upon the size and distribution of ferrite and pearlite phases which were transformed into finer structure than those of base metal. Even though the fine microstructure, every bent area showed a little lower hardness than that of base metal. It is considered that softening by the bending process may be arisen. Except of I2, intrados area, the others showed a similar corrosion rate to that of base metal. But even relatively high rate of intrados area was very low and acceptable. Therefore, it is judged that induction heat bending process didn't affect boric acid corrosion behaviour of carbon steel.

  • Recently, many middle and high schools are remodeling the buildings and facilities based on departmental system. This study, through analyzing on 10 remodeling cases of high school, is showing the variation before and after remodeling, space organization types, and the types of school management. This also gives us the information on the number of classrooms and teachers' rooms for each subject, the area and number of home base, and the current state of all these facilities. Furthermore, this study is comparing and analyzing the rate of use of specialized classrooms to the type of management. Through this analysis, we reach the following conclusions. l. However all the cases remodeled their buildings to implement departmental system, the methods of space composition, the numbers of the classrooms, and the status of home base are in various forms. 2. Taken as a whole, there are only few spaces used by departmental system. 3. The spaces for practical subjects such as Science and Art are inadequate than the ones for major subjects such as Languages and Mathematics. 4. A system to assign a room for a teacher records the lowest space usage rate. 5. The area of home base per one student is only $0.48m^2$, and even the area is mostly filled with lockers. The present condition of the 10 high schools which we surveyed shortly after remodeled shows that departmental system is not firmly settled down yet.

2-Methylisoborneol(2-MIB)제거를 위한 산화 및 흡착공정의 특성 (The Characteristics of Oxidation and Adsorption Processes for 2-Methylisoborneol(2-MIB) Removing)

  • One of the Musty and earthy smell compounds in raw water is generally attributed to 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB). It is well known that activated carbon and oxidants such as $O_3$, Cl $O_2$, are effective ways to control 2-MIB. In isotherm equilibrium experiments, 2-MIB in distilled water was much more adsorbed to the activated carbon(A/C) than raw water containing dissolved organic carbon (DOC). The Freundlich constants(k) of distilled water and raw water were 3.36 and 0.049, and 1/n values were 0.80 and 0.42, respectively. The 2-MIB residual rate were Y = $e^{-0}$.55x/~ $e^{-0}$.54x/ with Ozone( $O_3$) dose by 5 minutes contact time at the 241 and 353 ng/L initial concentrations. The 2-MIB residual rate were Y = $e^{-0}$.32x/~ $e^{-0}$.35x/ with Chlorine dioxide(Cl $O_2$) dose by 15 minutes contact time at the 89 and 249 ng/L initial concentrations. 2-MIB was decreased from 1911 ng/L to 569ng/L by post-ozonation(70%removal efficiency) and removal efficiencies of 2-MIB by the following 4 kinds Granular Activated Carbon(GAC) process such as coal base, coconut base, wood base and zeolite+carbon base were 95.8, 89.5, 88.4, and 93.7% respectively.ely.

커먼 레일 시스템 고압 연료 분사용 스월 노즐 인젝터의 분사 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Injection Characteristics of Swirl Nozzle Injector in Common-rail System for High Pressure Fuel Injection)

  • In this work, the evaluation of swirl nozzle injector performance was conducted by investigating effective area ($A_{eff}$), injection mass ($m_{inj}$), injection rate ($Q_{inj}$), and injection delay ($t_{delay}$) under various test conditions. To achieve these, fuel injection analysis system which was composed of fuel supply system, injection system, and control system was installed. At the same time, the swirl nozzle that had 12 orifice hole with $120^{\circ}$ injection angle was used in this work. It was revealed that the difference of injection mass ($m_{inj}$) between base and swirl nozzle injector increased as the injection pressure ($P_{inj}$) and energizing duration ($t_{eng}$) decreased under the same test conditions. The maximum injection rate ($Q_{inj}$) of swirl nozzle injector was higher than base nozzle injector about 2~5%. The injection performance of swirl nozzle was better than base nozzle at low injection pressure ($P_{inj}$) and short energizing duration ($t_{eng}$) conditions.

  • 본 논문에서 역방향 DS-CDMA(Direct Sequence-Code Division Multiple Access)에서 요구하는 QoS(Quality of Services)를 보장하기 위한 호 수락 제어를 제안한다 물리적 채널수에 의한 방법과 MODEM (modulator/ demodulator)부분으로부터 수신된 신호의 품질에 기반한 방법이 이미 연구되어졌다. 다른 방법으로, BTS(Base Transceiver Station)에서 수신된 파워 레벨을 사용한 방법과 사용자들의 위치를 통계적으로 분석한 방법으로 그 기준을 정하기도 한다. 이러한 방법들은 시스템의 과부하를 가져올 뿐만 아니라 시간 지연 또는 실제 환경에 적용하는데 큰 어려움이 있다. 이러한 문제를 풀기 위해, 실시간으로 BTS부분의 LNA(Low Noise Amplifier)에서 측정한 값을 기반으로 호 수락 제어를 목적으로 호 절단 추정을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 이러한 방법의 제안은 실시간에서 제공하는 서비스의 품질을 추정하고, 시스템의 부하를 줄이며, 짧은 시간지연을 가질 수 있다. 그러나 BTS에서 호 절단 률을 측정하고 수신 신호의 전력을 측정하기 위해 BTS에서 하드웨어 복잡성이 더해진다.

  • The objective of this paper was to investigate the slip rate and the slip frequency number of damper clutch of torque converter in 2.4L passenger vehicle with 5-speed A/T and analyze the effect of slip control and control strategy on driving characteristics and the fuel economy. The newly developed torque converter with the more durable wet friction material and the slip-controlled damper clutch system, the DCC system, was installed, which was easily compatible and amendable of the lock-up clutch of the base system. The vehicle has been tested on the fuel economy modes such as FTP-75, HWFET and NEDC (ECE15+EUDC) driving cycle at chassis dynamometer. The DCC mode (II), of which the control strategy had both the lock-up and the slip-controlled clutch, and the DCC mode (I) with full slip-controlled clutch were compared with the base system with only the lock-up clutch. As the research result, comparison to base system, the fuel consumption of the vehicle with the DCC control (II) was effectively improved by 6.6% and 7.7% on FTP-75 and NEDC mode.

BBSA 유도체의 가수분해메카니즘과 반응속도론적 연구 (A Study on the Kinetics and Mechanism of the Hydrolysis of N-Benzylidenebenzenesulfonamide Derivatives)

  • N-Benzylidenebenzenesulfonamide 유도체의 가수분해 반응속도를 $25^{\circ}C$의 수용액에서 자외선 분광기를 사용하여 측정하고 넓은 pH 범위에 적용될 수 있는 반응속도식을 유도하였다. 가수분해 반응속도에 미치는 치환기 효과를 검토하기 위하여 Hammett plot를 한 결과 전자 끄는기에 의하여 반응속도가 촉진됨을 알 수 있었다. 가수분해 최종 생성물은 benzenesulfonamide와 benzaldehyde 이었으며 가부분해 반응속도 상수 측정과 반응속도식의 유도, 치환기 효과, general base 효과 및 최종생성물의 결과로부터 n-benzylidenebenzenesulfonamide 유도체의 가수분해 반응은 pH 0.2${\sim}$2.5에서는 hydronium ion에 의해서, pH 3.0${\sim}$8.0 사이에서는 중성의 물분자에 의하여 가수분해가 일어나고 pH 8.5 이상에서는 hydroxide ion에 의하여 진행됨을 알 수 있었다.

A Pseudo-Random Beamforming Technique for Time-Synchronized Mobile Base Stations with GPS Signal

  • This paper proposes a pseudo-random beamforming technique for time-synchronized mobile base stations (BSs) for multi-cell downlink networks which have mobility. The base stations equipped with multi-antennas and mobile stations (MSs) are time-synchronized based on global positioning system (GPS) signals and generate a number of transmit beamforming matrix candidates according to the predetermined pseudo-random pattern. In addition, MSs generate receive beamforming vectors that correspond to the beam index number based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) using transmit beamforming vectors that make up a number of transmit beamforming matrices and wireless channel matrices from BSs estimated via the reference signals (RS). Afterward, values of received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) with regard to all transmit beamforming vectors are calculated, and the resulting values are then feedbacked to the BS of the same cells along with the beam index number. Each of the BSs calculates each of the sum-rates of the transmit beamforming matrix candidates based on the feedback information and then transmits the calculated results to the BS coordinator. After this, optimum transmit beamforming matrices, which can maximize a sum-rate of the entire cells, are selected at the BS coordinator and informed to the BSs. Finally, data signals are transmitted using them. The simulation results verified that a sum-rate of the entire cells was improved as the number of transmit beamforming matrix candidates increased. It was also found that if the received SINR values and beam index numbers are feedbacked opportunistically from each of the MSs to the BSs, not only nearly the same performance in sum-rate with that of applying existing feedback techniques could be achieved but also an amount of feedback was significantly reduced.

오스테나이트 합금의 용융염부식 및 고온산화에 미치는 Si 농도와 RE 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Si Content and RE Addition on Molten Salt Corrosion and High Temperature Oxidation of the Austenite Alloys)

  • The corrosion behavior of alloys in a molten salt was investigated along with the oxidation characteristics in the air. The basic composition of alloys in the study was Fe-25Ni-7Cr with Si and RE(rare-earth metal) as additives. The corrosion rate of the alloys was low in a molten salt of LiCl while the rate was high in the mixed molten salt of LiCl and $Li_2O$. When Si is added to the base alloy of Fe-25Ni-7Cr, corrosion resistance was improved as the Si content is increased up to 3%, however, it was observed that the corrosion resistance was getting worse as the Si content is increased. The base alloy with 2.43% of Si and 0.9% of RE(KSA-65), showed higher corrosion rate compared to that of KSA-63 alloy with an equivalent amount of only Si. The corrosion resistance of KSA-65 was similar to that of the base alloy(KSA-60). The oxidation resistance of KSA-65 alloy was greatly increased even at $850^{\circ}C$ for a long term exposure.

해상 환경에서의 무선 이동 통신을 위한 선박용 Ad-hoc 네트워크 운용 시나리오 (Application Scenarios of Nautical Ad-hoc Network in Wireless Mobile Communication under Maritime Environment)

  • 육상에서는 기지국을 통해 고속의 무선 통신 시스템을 사용하고 없는 반면, 해상의 경우 기지국을 설치하는데 제약이 따르고, 이로 인해 긴 전송거리를 갖는 저속의 MF/HF 대역 모뎀을 주로 사용 하고 있다. 고속 전송을 위해 해상위성통신이 사용되기도 하지만, 비용이 비싸다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 낮은 비용으로 전송속도를 증가시키기 위해서는 Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET)과 같은 기지국이 없는 상황에서 단말간의 통신이 가능한 네트워크의 구성이 필요한데, 해상의 경우 육상과는 다른 환경적인 특징들을 갖기 때문에 본 논문에서는 해상에서의 Ad-hoc 네트워크를 Nautical Ad-hoc Network (NANET) 이라 칭하며 NANET을 위한 시나리오를 설정하고, 시나리오 별 Multiple Access 및 Duplex 방식을 분석한 후, NANET을 구축하기 위한 주요 후속 연구 주제들을 정리하여 해상 무선 통신 연구를 위한 기본적인 Guide Line을 제시한다.
