  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of chicken egg containing IgY against H. pylori in patients with gastritis. Sixty three H. pylori-infected volunteers (20∼43 year, Male Female=49 : 14) were randomized into four groups which were treated with one chicken egg containing IgY b.i.d. (IgY group; n=17) or omeprazole 20 mg b.i.d., amoxicillin 1.0 g b.i.d. and clarithromycin 500 mg b.i.d. (OAC group; n=17) or omeprazole 20 mg b.i.d., amoxicillin 1.0 g b.i.d., clarithromycin 500 mg b.i.d. and one chicken egg containing IgY b.i.d. (OAC with IgY group; n=16) for 2 weeks or lyophilized IgY 1 g b.i.d (lyophilized IgY group) for 1 month. $\Delta$$^{13}$ $CO_2$ before and after treatment, the eradication rate of H. pylori and histologic change including H. pylori density, acute and chronic inflammation activity, intestinal metaplasia and glandular atrophy by updated sydney system were evaluated. Eradication rate of OAC with IgY group (94%) was higher than IgY group (0%), lyophilized IgY group (0%) and OAC group (88%). $\Delta$$^{13}$ $CO_2$at 2 weeks after treatment in one patient of IgY group was decreased. But that was not changed in the other patients. $\Delta$$^{13}$ $CO_2$ at 1 week after treatment in 15 patients of OAC with IgY group was significantly lower than pretreatment level (p<0.05), and $\Delta$$^{13}$ $CO_2$ at 1 week and 2 week after treatment was decreased in the other patient. Acute inflammation activity at antrum was significantly decreased after treatment in IgY and lyophilized IgY group (p<0.01), H. pylori density at antrum was significantly decreased after treatment in IgY and lyophilized IgY group (p<0.05). Chronic inflammation activity at body was decreased after treatment in lyophilized IgY group. Intestinal metaplasia and glandular atrophy at antrum and body were not changed after treatment in IgY group. Mild intestinal metaplasia in one patient of lyophilized IgY group changed to normal after 1 month treatment. • The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of consuming goat milk on the bacterial counts (colony forming units [CFU]) in adult women and to evaluate the carbohydrate fermentation capacity of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli isolated from their feces. Adult women who consumed goat milk (treatment group) had relatively higher CFU of bifidobacteria than did the control group, and the difference was significant (p<0.05) after 8 weeks. In total, 13 strains isolated from the feces of women in the treatment group were identified using 16S rRNA sequencing as Bifidobacterium adolescentis, B. longum, B. pseudocatenulatum, B. dentium, and Lactobacillus sakei. Similarly, 12 strains isolated from the feces of women in the control group included B. adolescentis, B. longum, L. ruminis, L. sakei, and B. pseudocatenulatum. All isolated bifidobacteria and lactobacilli fermented goat milk oligosaccharide and lactulose. All 7 strains of B. adolescentis fermented fructooligosaccharides, and 3 of the 4 B. pseudocatenulatum strains, 2 of the 3 L. sakei strains, and 1 of the 7 B. longum strains fermented fructooligosaccharides.

  • Biodegradable epoxy (B-epoxy) was prepared from diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A and epoxidized linseed oil. The mechanical properties of B-epoxy composites reinforced with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs/B-epoxy) were examined by employing dynamic mechanical analysis, critical stress intensity factor ($K_{IC}$) tests, and impact strength tests. The electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI-SE) of the composites was evaluated using reflection and absorption methods. Mechanical properties of MWCNTs/B-epoxy were enhanced with an increase in the MWCNT content, whereas they deteriorated when the MWCNT content was >5 parts per hundred resin (phr). This can likely be attributed to the entanglement of MWCNTs with each other in the B-epoxy due to the presence of an excess amount of MWCNTs. The highest EMI-SE obtained was ~16 dB for the MWCNTs/B-epoxy composites with a MWCNT content of 13 phr at 1.4 GHz. The composites (13 phr) exhibited the minimum EMI-SE (90%) when used as shielding materials at 1.4 GHz. The EMI-SE of the MWCNTs/B-epoxy also increased with an increase in the MWCNT content, which is a key factor affecting the EMI-SE.

  • In this paper, interference effects between NGSO and HAPS in the feeder link have been simulated and analyzed by means of calculating excess time percent and duration below the ell protection ratio. As the results, in the case of HAPS interference into NGSO, it can be obtained that the lowest C/I values are 20.42dB in 50km and 12.73dB in 20km of HAPS altitudes, respectively. And in the case of NGSO interference into HAPS, it can be obtained that the lowest ell values are 13.94dB and 10.42dB respectively. HAPS system has more interference reception from other systems or effects more interference into other systems as its altitude is lower. Also, the lowest ell values are appeared at difference time with its altitude.

  • In this study, we have investigated the availability of the electroless Ni-B plating for a diffusion barrier of the bus electrode. The Ni-B layer of 1$\beta$: thick was electroless deposited on the electroplated Cu bus electrode for AC plasma display. The layer was to encapsulate Cu bus electrode to prevent from its oxidation and to serve as a diffusion barrier against Cu contamination of the transparent dielectric layer in AC plasma display. The microstructure of the as-plated barrier layer was made of an amorphous phase and the structure was converted to crystalline at about 30$0^{\circ}C$. The concentration of boron was about 5∼6 wt.% in the electroless Ni-B deposit regardless of DMAB concentration. The electroless Ni-B deposit was coated on the surface of the electroplated Cu bus electrode uniformly. And the electroless Ni-B plating was found to be an appropriate process to form the diffusion barrier.

  • The reaction of 6-chloro-2-hydrazinoquinoxaline 4-oxide (11) with ethyl chloroglyoxylate provided ethyl 8-chloro-4H-1,3,4-oxadiazino[5,6-b]quinoxaline-2-carboxylate (12) through the intramolecular cyclization. The reaction of 12 with hydrazine hydrate afforded the $C_2$-hydrazinocarbonyl derivative 13, whose reactions with substituted benzaldehydes or heteroaryl aldehydes provided 8-chloro-2-(substituted benzylidenehydrazinocarbonyl)-4H-1,3,4-oxadiazino[5,6-b]quinoxalines (14) or 8-chloro-2-[(2-substituted methylidene)hydrazinocarbonyl]-4H-1,3,4-oxadiazino[5,6-b]quinoxalines(15), respectively.

  • A 5-GHz band Low Noise Amplifier(LNA) using SOI MOSFET is designed. To improve the noise performance, depletion-type SOI MOSFET is adopted, and it is designed by the two-stage topology consisting of common-source and common-gate stages for low-voltage operation. The fabricated LNA achieved an S11 of less than -10dB, voltage gain of 21dB with a power consumption of 8.3mW at 5.5GHz, and a noise figure of 1.7dB indicated that the depletion-type LNA improved the noise figure by 0.3dB compared with conventional type. These results show the feasibility of a CMOS LNA employing depletion-type SOI MOSFET for low-noise application.

  • Microscopic structure of skin in two amphibious mudskipper fish; Boleophthalmus dussumieri Valenciennes, 1837 (B. dussumeri) and Periophthalmus waltoni Koumans, 1941 (P. waltoni) were investigated in relation to their lifestyle. The general structure of skin is the same among the two species. Epidermis in B. dussumeri was thicker significantly than P. waltoni. The dermal bulges were only well developed in the skin of B. dussumeri. Mucous cells were absent in the epidermis of P. waltoni but present in B. dussumeri. Both B. dussumeri and P. waltoni have well-developed swollen middle cells as a shared epidermal feature. The thickness of the middle cell layer of the epidermis in B. dussumeri was significantly greater than in P. waltoni. Capillaries in the dorsal and ventral parts of the body are more closely distributed to the epidermal surface in P. waltoni than in B. dussumeri. The diffusion distance in the dorsal epidermis of P. waltoni was less than that in the ventral epidermis of B. dussumeri. A comparative examination of the skin of mudskipper species suggests that, due to the more terrestrial lifestyle adopted by P. waltoni, the skin contributes more to respiration.
