Purpose: To know if magnetic resonance image (MRI) re-examination is needed before surgery, we compared the pre-operative MRI recorded at different time points and the corresponding arthroscopic findings. Materials and Methods: Depending on the timing of evaluation, the MRI was classified into three groups: group A, MRI was taken 1 month before the surgery (44 cases, average 16 days); group B, 1-6 months before the surgery (41 cases, average 91 days); and group C, 6-12 months before the surgery (25 cases, average 230 days). The anterior to posterior tear size (length) and medial retraction size (width) of rotator cuff tear were measured for each group and they were compared with the actual arthroscopic findings. Results: Results of this study showed that arthroscopic rotator cuff tear length and width were larger than those of MRI. The difference of the rotator cuff tear size was 3.6(${\pm}1.2$) mm of length and 0.6(${\pm}0.4$) mm of width in group A, 4.2(${\pm}1.7$) mm and 2.4(${\pm}1.1$) mm in group B, and 4.5(${\pm}2.1$) mm and 3.0(${\pm}1.5$) mm in group C. There was a tendency of the larger size difference for longer pre-operative period, but it was not statistically significant. Conclusion: The rotator cuff tear size did not show remarkable differences between pre-operative MRI taken within 1 year before surgery and the actual arthroscopy. It is concluded that additional MRI evaluation is not required within 1 year.
The objective of this paper was to analyse the foot type of female university students by the direct and indirect measure of foot and the measures of foot outline. The results were as follow: 1. The length and the width of foot were small and ankle slender and the modification of the big toe slight. 2. The analysis on the 16 measure items revealed five factors; the first factor was related to the width and girth of foot, the second one to the length of foot, the third one to the transformation of the little toe, the fourth one to the height of foot, the fifth one to transformation of the big toe. 3. The grouping on the shape of foot revealed three types. The inline angle of foot was the smallest in average in the type 1, while it appeared to be middle in the other types. The wider foot shapes were grouped as type 2 because their inline and outline angles of foot were the biggest in average. In the type 3, the big toe was curved a lot, since it was the largest in average. 4. From the naked eye measuring method, classification from which toe was popped-out told that Egyptian foot was 30.9%, Greek foot 27.9%. On the other hand, the instrumental method showed that Egyptian foot was 57.3%, Squared foot 35.3% and Greek foot 7.4%. 5. The result from the analysis about the traits of foot shape by the degree of the arch formation of bottom foot, showed that 33.8% had the normal foot, 66.2% slightly flat foot or middle one. There was no one with rigid flat foot. 6. The shoes size they declared were that 240cm was 33.3%, 235cm 18.1% and 245cm 18.1%. The shape of their shoe heel were flat heel(34.8%), cuban heel(25.5%), and narrow straight heel(19.9%); and that of the shoe toe were round toe(25.4%), oval toe(20.4%) and squared toe(20.4%). 7. The discomforting parts when they wear shoes were the little toe(35.4%), the rear of foot(13.9%), and the width of foot(13.9%), which was related to their dislike of shoe with the pointed toe.
Morphometric parameters such as cone height, cone height/width ratio($H_{co}$/$W_{co}$), cone height/difference between cone width and crater width ratio($H_{co}$/$W_{co-cr}$) and slope angle are measured to investigate the rates of slope development of scoria cones in Cheju Island. The parameters systematically decrease with increasing age of scoria cones, suggesting that comparative morphology of scoria cones is a useful age indicator. Cone age is most highly correlated with $H_{co}$/($W_{co-cr}$ or average slope angle because summit craters are infilled and eventually removed by erosional processes. The average slope angle is estimated as $\theta_{ave}$= $tan^{-1}$/〔2.$H_{co}$/$W_{co-cr}$〕. Cheju Island was formed through four eruptive stages during Pleistocene. The youngest cones of stage 4(0.1~0.025Ma) have a mean average slope angle of 23.6$\pm$1.7$^{\circ}$, whereas stage 3(0.3~0.1Ma) and stage 2(0.6~0.3Ma) cones have mean values of 18.9$\pm$$1.7^{\circ}C$and 12.6$\pm$$1.9^{\circ}C$, respectively.

Although the road construction in forest is increasing and there is a need for development ecological restoration on deforest area, no consideration has been given to individual trees in there. This study analyzed aerial photographs of deforest area before and after road construction for determining the degree of forest destruction by extracting individual trees. Study area was selected in the sites where are damaged by road construction in GongJu-si, YuSung-gu, and YeongDong-gun. The aerial photograph taken 1979 before construction is panchromatic image of 80cm in GSD (Ground Sample Distance) and other photograph taken 2016 after construction is multi-spectral image of 10cm in GSD. In order to minimize the difference of GSD, we conducted image re-sampling process for setting to same GSD for the two photographs. After that we carried out visual interpretation method for determining to change of individual tree. The result found that for GongJu-si of the number of individual tree was 1,014 in 1979 and 886 in 2016, which decreased by 128 (12.6%) and the average width of those decreased from 5.77m to 5.75m by 0.47%. In case of YoungDong-gun, the number of it was 761 in 1979 and 746 in 2016, which decreased by 2.0% and the average width of it decreased from 8.99mm to 8.90m by 1.1%. Lastly in case of YuSung-gu, the number of it was 1,578 in 1979 and 988 in 2016, which decreased by 37.4% and the average width of it decreased from 7.09m to 6.65m by 6.21%. these result imply that road construction causes destruction of forests. Since there are limitations such as errors due to researcher, it is necessary to construct a quantitative analysis method for the change of the deforest area. It is need to study the method of extracting individual tree in deforest area more accurately using high-resolution image of GSD 10cm or more as well. This study can be used as a basic data for the ecological restoration of the deforest area considering characteristics of individual tree such as height, diameter at breast height, and biomass.
This study aims to compare and analyze somatotype characteristics in clothing ergonomics as well as Sasang (Oriental physical constitution type classification into 4 kinds: taeyang, taeeum, soyang, soeum) medicine. The subjects were women collegians in their 20s. As a result, a new approach was made in somatotype classification. The following are conclusions: 1. The results of body measurement of the subjects belonged to 1 in most items when they were compared with the average records of female adults in their 20s in the national standard physique report. Thus, the subjects belonged to the average somatotype. 2. According to Sasang physical constitution classification, no subjects belonged to taeyang-type. Taeeum type (28.4%), had lower-body development greatest height and even development in width, thickness and girth. Soeum-type(37.8%) had the smallest physique. Soyang-type(33.8%) showed small values in height but great values in width, thickness and girth. 3. The factor analysis revealed 5 factors of somatotype characteristics: lower body factors including body weight, upper body factors, height factors including stature, belly width factors including waist and belly, and other factors comprising ankle and head size. 4. A cluster analysis by way of factor scores resulted in 3 types: cluster 1 44.6%, biggest values, largest somatotypes; cluster 2 17.6%, average somatotypes; cluster 3 tiniest somatotypes in most items. 5. In the crosstabs analysis, taeeum-type (57.6%) appeared a lot in cluster 1, soyang-type (76.9%) appeared most in cluster 2, and soeum-type (69.9%) was mostly seen in cluster 3. To sum up, the somatotype analysis of clothing ergonomics had something to do with constitution classification suggested in Sasang medicine. For clear justification, more systematic and scientific research should be followed with even more diverse subjects in sex and age.

Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate transverse changes of proximal segment after bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) using 3-D CT in mandibular prognathism. Patients and methods: Twenty-two patients who underwent BSSRO for mandibular set-back in class III malocclusion without facial asymmetry were examined. Miniplates were used for the fixation after BSSRO. Facial CT was taken before and after BSSRO within 3 months. Frontal-ramal inclination (FRI), inter-gonial width (IGW) and intercondylar width (ICW) were measured in 3-D CT images using V-works $4.0^{TM}$ program. Student t-test was used to compare the changes between pre- and post-operative measurements using SPSS 10.0 program. Results: 1. Mean peroperative FRI value ($12.87{\pm}3.43^{\circ}$) was slightly increased to postoperative value ($14.13{\pm}3.72^{\circ}$) (p < 0.05). The average FRI increased 10.42% and the range was from $-2.46^{\circ}$ to $3.34^{\circ}$. 2. Mean peroperative IGW ($99.01{\pm}5.36$) was slightly decreased to postoperative IGW ($96.51{\pm}5.88mm$) (p < 0.05). The average IGW decreased 2.52 % and the range was from $-6.61^{\circ}$ to 0.91 mm. 3. Mean preoperative ICW ($125.01{\pm}5.30mm$) was slightly decreased to postoperative ICW ($125.40{\pm}5.45mm$) (p < 0.05). There is no significant difference between pre- and post-operative ICW. 4. There was significant correlationship between FRI difference and IGW difference (p < 0.05). Conclusions: These results indicate that the lower ramus of the proximal segment is moved inward after BSSRO procedure for mandibular set-back.
Purpose: This study investigated the harvesting properties of the giant miscanthus (Miscanthus ${\times}$ giganteus) to measure the required mowing power for different stem conditioning methods in order to shorten the drying time after mowing and the bale density so that the crop can be used as biomass in the winter season. Methods: The required mowing power and bale density were measured using a power measurement device, three different mower-conditioners, and a mid-sized round baler under different working speeds and conditioning methods. Results: For the various mower-conditioners, the average stem length from mowing was 0.86-0.91 m, and the available working speed was 1.6 m/s. The steel roller-type mower-conditioner showed better stem conditioning but could not mow over a working speed of 1.6 m/s. The required average power of the mower-conditioners varied from 23.8 kW for the steel roller-type rotary disk mower-conditioner with a working width of 2.4 m to 37.2 kW for the flail-type rotary disk mower-conditioner with a working width of 3.2 m at a working speed of 1.6 m/s. The bale densities were $155.8-172.2kg/m^3$. The highest bale density was measured for stems with no conditioning and a moisture content of 11.3% (d.b.) mowed by the rotary disk mower. The bale density was affected by the mowing method because of the low moisture content of the miscanthus stems. Conclusions: In terms of the working performance and conditioning statue, the steel roller-type mower-conditioner is a better choice at a working width of 2.4 m, while the flail finger-type mower-conditioner is better at a working width of 3.2 m. The type of mower-conditioner used for giant miscanthus harvesting should be determined by considering the harvest area, workable period, and working performance of a mower-conditioner and baler during the winter.
In this study, we analyzed environmental factors including annual fruit growth and meteorological conditions in Suwon area from 2000 to 2014 to develop and verify a fruit width prediction model in 'Fuji' apple. The 15-year average of full bloom data was April 28 and that of fruit development period was 181 days. The fruit growth until 36 days after full bloom followed single sigmoid curve. The environmental factors affecting fruit width were BIO2, precipitation in September, the average of daily maximum and minimum temperature in April, minimum temperature in August, and growing degree days (GDD) in April. Among them, the model was constructed by combining BIO2 and precipitation in September, which are not cross-correlated with each other or, with other factors. And then, the final model was selected as 19.33095 + (5.76242 ${\times}$ BIO2) - (0.01891 ${\times}$ September precipitation) + (2.63046 ${\times}$ minimum temperature in April) which was the most suitable model with AICc of 92.61 and the adjusted $R^2$ value of 0.53. The model was compared with the observed values f rom 2000 to 2014. As a result, the mean difference between the measured and predicted values of 'Fuji' apple fruit width was ${\pm}2.9mm$ and the standard deviation was 3.54.

The use of flip-chip technology has many advantages over other approaches for high-density electronic packaging. ACF (anisotropic conductive film) is one of the major flip-chip technologies, which has short chip-to-chip interconnection length, high productivity, and miniaturization of package. In this study, thermal fatigue lift of ACF bonding flip-chip package has been predicted. Elastic and thermal properties of ACF were measured by using DMA and TMA. Temperature dependent nonlinear hi-thermal analysis was conducted and the result was compared with Moire interferometer experiment. Calculated displacement field was well matched with experimental result. Thermal fatigue analysis was also conducted. The maximum shear strain occurs at the outmost located bump. Shear stress-strain curve was obtained to calculate fatigue life. Fatigue model for electronic adhesives was used to predict thermal fatigue life of ACF bonding flip-chip packaging. DOE (Design of Experiment) technique was used to find important design factors. The results show that PCB CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) and elastic modulus of ACF material are important material parameters. And as important design parameters, chip width, bump pitch and bump width were chose. 2$^{nd}$ DOE was conducted to obtain RSM equation far the choose 3 design parameter. The coefficient of determination ($R^2$) for the calculated RSM equation is 0.99934. Optimum design is conducted using the RSM equation. MMFD (Modified Method for feasible Direction) algorithm is used to optimum design. The optimum value for chip width, bump pitch and bump width were 7.87mm, 430$\mu$m, and 78$\mu$m, respectively. Approximately, 1400 cycles have been expected under optimum conditions. Reliability analysis was conducted to find out guideline for control range of design parameter. Sigma value was calculated with changing standard deviation of design variable. To acquire 6 sigma level thermal fatigue reliability, the Std. Deviation of design parameter should be controlled within 3% of average value.
Background: The superior orbital fissure is a small area that connects the middle cranial fossa and the orbit. Many studies have measured the size of the superior orbital fissure. However, there is no standard value for the size of the superior orbital fissure. Therefore, we conducted this study to provide the average size of the superior orbital fissure in Korean adults. Methods: We measured the widths of the superior orbital fissures of 142 patients using computed tomography scans. Because the width of the superior orbital fissure varies at different locations, we measured the superior orbital fissure width at the level of the optic canal. Results: In the males, the width of the superior orbital fissure on both sides was $3.79{\pm}0.93mm$, and these values were $3.79{\pm}0.96mm$ for the left side and $3.783{\pm}0.92mm$ for the right side. In the females, the widths of the superior orbital fissures were $3.62{\pm}1.35mm$ on the left side, $3.69{\pm}1.18mm$ on the right side, and $3.65{\pm}1.26mm$ across both sides. Conclusion: There were no significant differences between the males and females or between the left and right sides. The present study suggests that we may accept the hypothesis that a congenitally narrow superior orbital fissure may be a risk factor for the superior orbital fissure syndrome. Surgeons should take precaution with patients who have narrow superior orbital fissures during the perioperative period.
