Development of Automatic Precision Inspection System for Defect Detection of Photovoltaic Wafer (태양광 웨이퍼의 결함검출을 위한 자동 정밀검사 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, we describes the development of automatic inspection system for detecting the defects on photovoltaic wafer by using machine vision. Until now, The defect inspection process was manually performed by operators. So these processes caused the produce of poorly-made articles and inaccuracy results. To improve the inspection accuracy, the inspection system is not only configured, but the image processing algorithm is also developed. The inspection system includes dimensional verification and pattern matching which compares a 2-D image of an object to a pattern image the method proves to be computationally efficient and accurate for real time application and we confirmed the applicability of the proposed method though the experience in a complex environment.

  • Tiny camera module using in modern cellular phone requires precise assembly processes. Higher camera resolution and more functions such as zoom lens make the number of camera parts bigger. As market grows rapidly, automatic assembly process is required. However, diverse product line and short life cycle make it difficult. To attack this, a flexible and expandable lens assembly system is proposed. For the fast manufacturing line formation, modular concept is adopted. Also each module is designed to have intelligence to save system formation time. The assembly system is built up on the standard flat-form which provides vibration free base, air and electric supply, controllers, etc. Futhermore, the assembly cell has the capability of handling tiny, thin, or transparent parts which are very difficult to align with vision.

  • This article deals the development of Agile and Intelligent Manufacturing System(AIM) for the assembly automation of a tiny ultrasonic actuator used in camera phones and PDAs. The system consists of multi-vision modules, end-effectors, a standard base frame, dispensers, jigs and modular manipulators. Subsystems are a vision system, a force control system and a virtual reality system. Experimental results show that the assembly process for the small components in the various IT applications can be realized by the AIM system.

  • In the manufacturing processes of semiconductor, test process is important for quality of products. In the manufacturing process of dynamic memory, memory test is more important. So, automatic test equipment(ATE) is used necessarily. But, according to increase of speed of dynamic memory operation, the rapid test equipment is needed. Impedance matching between ATE and dynamic memory is expected to be an important problem for making a rapid test equipment over 1Gbps. According to increase of speed, inner impedance of ATE also works on important parameter for test. This paper is about the method that is for impedance matching of inner impedance and coaxial cable occurring in manufacturing of ATE. We proved effects of inner impedance by electric theory and verified the method of impedance matching using computer simulation.

  • In the process of die manufacturing, according to increasing demand of die and molds, the efficient machining of dies and molds has been increased. However, while the cutting process has been automated by the progress of CNC(computer numerical control) and CAD/CAM, the polishing process still depends on the experienced knowledge of an expert. Also, even when workers are skilled in polishing dies. it takes much time to obtain the required roughness and smoothness on the surface of a die. Moreover, many workers gradually avoid doing polishing work because of the poor working conditions caused by dust and noise. Therefore, to improve productivity and to solve the potential shortage of skilled workers, a user-friendly automatic polishing system was developed in this research. The developed polishing system with five degrees of freedom is able to keep the polishing tool normal to the die surface during operation and is able to maintain a pressure constantly by the developed pneumatic system. Also, to evaluate polishing performance of the developend system and find the polishing conditions, the various polishing experiments were carried out.

  • In this research, a hot and cold combined forging process for manufacturing net-shape one-way clutch bearing outer race of an automobile automatic transmission unit is developed. The process is composed of hot forging for manufacturing an optimized gear-like perform and precision cold forging for sizing the perform into final net-shape product. Finite element simulation techniques are applied to find the optimized process designs including blank and die shapes. The predictions and experiments are compared, revealing that they are in good agreement with each other. The dimensional test showed that the important dimensional requirements on gear tooth-like shape of the forged product were fulfilled.

  • This paper introduces the automatic fine Bituminous Coal injection lance position control method using flame image process. The fine Coal injection lance is used to supply additional heat into the furnace in Mill plant. It injects fine coal into high pressured air flow and produces very heated and high pressured flame. For the such high temperature and pressure, the fine coal injection lance effects not only efficiency of burner but also furnace abrasion. To keep efficient combustion status and to avoid the abrasion, in this paper, the flame is monitored by computer image process. This paper proposes the flame image process method and lance position control according to calculated result for flame image process.

  • As the automation system in manufacturing field works more efficientely, the automation scheme is applied to many areas. In order to reduce the entire manufacturing, cost the design process must be automated. However, design process is so complicated, it is very difficult to construct the design automation system. The axiomatic approach to design provides a general theoretical framework for all design fields, including mechanical design. The key concepts of axiomatic design are : the existence of domains, the characteristic vectors within the domains that can be decomposed into hierarchies through zigzagging between the domains, and the design axioms. Using this approach, the glass bulb design process was analyzed and the design automation software was developed. Through menu display, a user can select or furnish the design input and generate the drawing with ease.

  • In this paper, the Timed Petri-Nets(TPN) modeling of Modular Cell Manufacturing Systems(MCMS) was investigated to overcome the limit of batch mode operation, which has been one of the most popular manufacturing types to produce an extensive industrial output and to be able to adopt to suitable and quickly changing manufacturing environments. A model of the MCMS was developed in reference to the actual TFT-LCD manufacturing system. TFT-LCD manufacturing system is not mass-productive in batch mode, but it operates in the form of MCMS which consists of a sequence of several cells with four processes of operation, including those of color filter(C/F), TFT, cell, and module. The cell process is further regrouped in those of Front-End and Back-End. For the Back-End cell process, it is reconstructed into a virtual model, consisting of three cells. The TPN modeling encompasses those properties, such as states and operations of machines, the number of buffers, and the processing time. The performance of the modeling was further examined in terms of scheduling system. The productivity in each cells was examined with respect to the change of failure rate of the cell machines and Automatic Guided Vehicles(AGV) using simulation by TPN.

  • CFM(Cast Forge Method) is widely used in manufacturing industry to produce aluminium parts with good mechanical properties and low production cost. CFM is the process which produces a final products by forging from the initial billet by casting. The study on this paper covers the automatic design method which finds a pertinent shape for initial billet using Fast Fourier Transform, low-pass frequency filtering and FEM simulation of the nonisothermal forging process by DEFORM. These works will give us an information to enhance the low strength of a aluminium casting.
