  • The Borel-Serre partial compactification gives cofinite models for the proper classifying space for arithmetic lattices. Non-arithmetic lattices arise only in semisimple Lie groups of ${\mathbb{R}}$-rank one. The author generalizes the Borel-Serre partial compactification to construct cofinite models for the proper classifying space for lattices in semisimple Lie groups of ${\mathbb{R}}$-rank one by using the reduction theory of Garland and Raghunathan.

  • There are many measuring tools to evaluate individual's scientific productivity using scientific articles based on bibliometrics. Especially succeeding discussions are accomplished at an trial for individual's scientific productivity after Hirsch's 2005 proposal using h-index. And there are many succeeding discussions and applications to evaluate journals, articles and qualitative level of researchers using h-index, g-index. But these indices have a same indices without regard to first author or other co-author if a article has a same number of citations. This research aims to propose K-index integrated between these indices and author rank.

  • Up to the present day, the best solution we can get to the truncated moment problem (TMP) is probably the Flat Extension Theorem. It says that if the corresponding moment matrix of a moment sequence admits a rank-preserving positive extension, then the sequence has a representing measure. However, constructing a flat extension for most higher-order moment sequences cannot be executed easily because it requires to allow many parameters. Recently, the author has considered various decompositions of a moment matrix to find a solution to TMP instead of an extension. Using a new approach with the Hadamard product, the author would like to introduce more techniques related to moment matrix decompositions.

  • We investigated how bibliometric indicators such as publication count and citation count affect the assessment of research performance by computing various bibliometric scores of the works of Korean LIS faculty members and comparing the rankings by those scores. For the study data, we used the publication and citation data of 159 tenure-track faculty members of Library and Information Science departments in 34 Korean universities. The study results showed correlation between publication count and citation count for authors with many publications but the opposite evidence for authors with few publications. The study results suggest that as authors publish more and more work, citations to their work tend to increase along with publication count. However, for junior faculty members who have not yet accumulated enough publications, citations to their work are of great importance in assessing their research performance. The study data also showed that there are marked differences in the magnitude of citations between papers published in Korean journals and papers published in international journals.

  • This study primarily focused on the development of an Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) model to discern and analyze papers with significant impact in the field of mathematics education. To achieve this, meta-information from 29 domestic and international mathematics education journals was utilized to construct a comprehensive academic research network in mathematics education. This academic network was built by integrating five sub-networks: 'paper and its citation network', 'paper and author network', 'paper and journal network', 'co-authorship network', and 'author and affiliation network'. The Random Forest machine learning model was employed to evaluate the impact of individual papers within the mathematics education research network. The SHAP, an XAI model, was used to analyze the reasons behind the AI's assessment of impactful papers. Key features identified for determining impactful papers in the field of mathematics education through the XAI included 'paper network PageRank', 'changes in citations per paper', 'total citations', 'changes in the author's h-index', and 'citations per paper of the journal'. It became evident that papers, authors, and journals play significant roles when evaluating individual papers. When analyzing and comparing domestic and international mathematics education research, variations in these discernment patterns were observed. Notably, the significance of 'co-authorship network PageRank' was emphasized in domestic mathematics education research. The XAI model proposed in this study serves as a tool for determining the impact of papers using AI, providing researchers with strategic direction when writing papers. For instance, expanding the paper network, presenting at academic conferences, and activating the author network through co-authorship were identified as major elements enhancing the impact of a paper. Based on these findings, researchers can have a clear understanding of how their work is perceived and evaluated in academia and identify the key factors influencing these evaluations. This study offers a novel approach to evaluating the impact of mathematics education papers using an explainable AI model, traditionally a process that consumed significant time and resources. This approach not only presents a new paradigm that can be applied to evaluations in various academic fields beyond mathematics education but also is expected to substantially enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of research activities.

  • The research about customer value has developed over the past years in the marketing field. On the other hand, the stream of the idea has not fully been structured yet. It is the purpose of this research to present the process of development together with the intellectual structure in the field of customer value researches using "Author Co-citation Analysis" (ACA). For the purpose of the research, authors chosen were ranked in order of frequency according to their citations which were used for network analysis. Further, it was of advantage in finding the development process for this research from 1996 to 2011. The trend were set into three time-line groups/trends (1996~2000, 2001~2005, and 2006~2011) that were respectively analyzed. In conclusion, the research represents the intellectual structure of customer value in each period. The research having been tried, influenced a variable field in other marketing researches. While still, many researches limit their focus on a "one-way customer value, used by companies in the past and some in the present, many researches now have a wider perspective about the value and relationship of their customer and their company, together with the society at large.

  • In the past, a fundamental technique in inventory control system was to rank the items of a inventory from a distribution by value to draw an ABC curve. Unfortunately the use of ABC categorization technique has created problems and introduced some gross errors into the inventory control system. First, the author considers the possible applications of the technique in the real world and then attempts to discuss ABC fallacies through the literatures. Finally, an inventory categorization algorithm by the principal component analysis is derived and a numerical example is also presented to illustrate the algorithm.

  • This study aims at proposing three prestige indices-closeness prestige, input domain, and proximity prestige- as useful measures for the impact of a particular node in citation networks. It compares these prestige indices with other impact indices as it is still unknown what dimensions of impact these indices actually measure. The prestige indices enable us to distinguish the most prominent actors in a directed network, similar to the centrality indices in undirected networks. Correlation analysis and principal component analysis were conducted on the author citation network to identify the differentiated implications of the three prestige indices from the existing impact indices. We selected simple citation counting, h-index, PageRank, and the three kinds of centrality indices which assume undirected networks as the existing impact measures for comparison with the three prestige indices. The results indicate that these prestige indices demonstrate distinct impact dimension from the other impact indices. The prestige indices reflect indirect impact while the others direct impact.

  • Today, citation index information is used as an outcome scale of spreading technology and encouraging research. Article citation information is an important factor to determine the authority of the relevant author. Google Scholar uses the article citation information to organize academic article search results with a rank algorithm. For an accurate analysis of such important citation index information, large amounts of bibliographic data are required. Therefore, this study aims to build a fast and efficient system for large amounts of bibliographic data, and to design and develop a system for quickly analyzing cited information for that data. This study also aims to use and analyze citation data to be a basic element for providing various advanced services to the academic article search system.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to make preliminary data through the bibliometric analysis of journals registered by national research foundations of Korea for the improvement of traditional Korean medical (TKM) journals. Methods: We collected 4,396 articles from the OASIS database, which is composed of articles published by TKM societies and institutes. First, we analyzed the 'authors by year', 'average authors per article', 'articles by institute' and 'authors by institute' to get the author-related conditions. Second, we analyzed the 'reference type', 'cited times', 'IF with self citation' and 'IF without self citation' to get the citation condition. Results: First, we found that the journal order of total authors was KAOOMP (2362), KOMS (1189), and KAMS (967), and of average authors per article was KAMS (5.29), KOIMS (5.25), and KOMS (4.75). Second, we learned that the journal order of occupied article ratio by high rank institutes was SCMS (92.4%), MAS (90.03%), and KOPS (87.22%) and of occupied author ratio by high rank institutes was KOPMS (96.55%), MAS (95.19%), and SCMS (93.85%). Third, we analyzed the most highly cited reference type by journals and we found that OMCS was books, SCMS was oriental medical journals and the other 10 journals were not oriental medical journals. Finally, we observed that the journal order of self citation ratio was SCMS (16.79%), KMAS (11.77%), and OOGS (11.67%) and also that the IF order was KAMS (0.675), OOGS (0.546), and KAOH (0.430). Conclusions: Through this study we found that TKM research leans too much toward on oriental medical universities, so we insist that TKM R&D institutes must be expanded. We also found that the self citation ratio was high in TKM journals, so the ratio must be decreased to improve the quality of the TKM journals.
