  • This study aimed to investigate major satisfaction and career maturity according to the values of college students majoring in food management and culinary arts. To do this, frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression were conducted and analyzed using SPSS18.0 program. Analysis results indicate that the values of the college students majoring in dining and culinary education have effects on major satisfaction and career maturity. In particular, pragmatic value is a very important factor in increasing major satisfaction and career maturity, and social recognition and curriculum factors are very significant for students to make career decisions. Therefore, in order to enhance college students' major satisfaction and career maturity, it's necessary to teach sound values so that they can build self-esteem value. Also, it's essential to organize subject contents and curriculums in which theory and practice are allocated properly so that students can be interested in their majors and have new experience as well as the community's right recognition for college students majoring in dinning and culinary education and their active interest as the study suggests.

  • As other major, students have difficulties to be successfully adapted to computer science major without some interest and skill to computer programming. In this paper, we try to find successful factors for computer science major freshmen students to computer programming. The factors we focused are programming experience before college entrance, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, application motivations to computer major, existence of mentors, satisfaction to his/her computer department, student's holland job aptitude code. After analysis, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, satisfaction to computer department, some holland job aptitude code are significant to their successful adaptation to computer major. Also, we found the holland job apptitude code is closely related to student's satisfaction to their major for engineering students including computer science students. Our analysis results will be a suggestion for designing computer science education program with students who enters college without some aptitude or preparation to his major.

More exercise time and less frequency of alcoholic beverage they intake, lowered their body fat $\%$. Males did stronger exercise and had lower body fat $\%$ than females. The stronger exercise they did, the lower body fat $\%$ they had, and were more satisfied with their present weight. Since they had more alcoholic beverage, they smoked more. Less smoking, more abdominal obesity they were. The less satisfaction with their body weights, the higher body fat $\%$ they had. The obese less were content with their weights. More recognition of obese shape, higher body fat $\%$ they had and abdominal obesity they were. Female had higher body fat $\%$ and were more abdominal obesity, did weak action, less smoke and weak exercise than male. Higher body fat $\%$ they had, more abdominal obesity they were. The more part time jobs they had, they did not smoke or were not satisfied with their body weights. • For engineers in the knowledge-based society of the 21st century, not only the specialty in their major field, but also the capabilities of creative thinking/reading/writing, of communication and of understanding society/business/economy, and the knowledge of specialized liberal arts, like ethics, are required. For the specialized liberal arts knowledge, it is important to have interest in a field, read the relevant literature, and summarize and express thoughts, but in reality, it is difficult to accomplish a higher level of learning outcome within the limited regular curriculum. In this study, an application for smart phones that purports to cultivate the specialized liberal arts knowledge of the students enrolled in the college of engineering was developed and applied to classes. Under this environment, a teacher can interact with teacher's students through the structured knowledge on a real-time basis in any place at any time, and the students can reorganize the knowledge by themselves. In this way, this paper proposed a way of improving the level of specialized liberal arts knowledge in daily life.

  • The purposes of this study were to measure university academic achievement based on gender. We analyzed university academic achievement based on gender. The subjects for this analysis were 322 students from freshmen to seniors who received grades in their first semester in the computer engineering department at a university located in the Chungcheong area. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, the average university academic achievement was 3.01. Second, the university academic achievement of female students was higher than that of male students in the entire curriculum, liberal arts, and major subjects. Students showed higher academic achievement when their grades rose. Male students showed higher rate of rise when their grades rose compared to female students. This paper proposes that it is necessary to develop programs to further adaption to university life for males. Since male students showed significantly lower university academic achievement, various programs like counseling and mentoring are needed.
