Dealternating numbers and alternation numbers measure the distance between the link and an alternating links. In the present article, we show that classical link invariants; the determinant, signature and Alexander polynomial can not detect the almost alternativity of links.

This study aims to present definite directions on practical insurance business and letter of credits through an analysis centering on each section of Article 28 of UCP600. Accordingly, we sought adefinite understanding of regulations on insurance documents and present things to be improved. And we speculate the issues on insurance documents focusing on excessive involvement of insurance in banking according to the convention of insurance business, each mortgage having liability according to contract based on the regulations on acceptance of collective insurance documents, problems in acceptance of expiry date recorded in insurance documents and alternatives. This study focuses on activation of insurance documents as contract documents of marine insurance, aiming to present interpretational base in a practical view rather than technological directions.

The Chemist Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier and mathematician Pierre Simon Laplace, who conducted a collaborative research on heat phenomena, are two of the key figures that represent French scientific community in the late 18th century. They joined hands together to understand heat phenomena that had not been fully explained until that time. They studied heat phenomena based on a heat particle model called 'caloric' and this study further expanded into light, magnetism and electricity, laying groundwork for many other research achievements afterwards. This article goes through their individual researches and looks into the process of their joint research based on the analysis of their publications. Further to these, it emphasizes its continuity with the Laplacian Program, a large-scale research project conducted in the early 19th century. Lastly, this article presents how science can merge with history, and at the same time, introduces the prerequisites for successful convergence research through existing research cases.

Even though the importance of the nature of science (NOS) and scientific inquiry in science learning have been emphasized by many science educators and science curriculums, the link between the NOS and scientific inquiry has not been discussed sufficiently. In this article, I discussed that various aspects of NOS are already embedded in defining and characterizing the authentic scientific inquiry and that we need to have special concern about how the NOS should be treated and interpreted when introducing it into scientific inquiry. And I summarized two approaches to teach the NOS and scientific inquiry; teaching the NOS through scientific inquiry and teaching scientific inquiry through the NOS. Finally, some next studies based on this article are introduced.

Since 1855, the federal courts of the United States have been empowered to assist in the gathering of evidence for use before foreign tribunals. Today, the source of that authority is 28 U.S.C. ${\S}1782$ which permits the courts to order a person "to give [ ] testimony... or to produce a document ... for use in a proceeding in a foreign or international tribunal${\cdots}$ ." It was generally assumed, until the United States Supreme Court's decision of Intel Corp. v. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in 2004, that arbitration tribunals were not "foreign tribunals" for purposes of 28 U.S.C. ${\S}1782$. While the issue in Intel did not involve an arbitration tribunal, a statement by the Supreme Court in dicta has called into question the exact parameters of the words "foreign tribunal," resulting in a split of opinion among the federal courts of the United States. This article explores the legislative history of 28 U.S.C. ${\S}1782$, examines the United States Supreme Court decision in Intel, and discusses the split among the courts of the United States regarding the interpretation of "foreign tribunal." The article further surveys emerging issues: is an arbitration tribunal in a case involving foreign parties and seated in the United States a "foreign tribunal"; does agreeing to the use of the IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence in International Arbitration circumscribe the use of 28 U.S.C. ${\S}1782$; can a party be ordered to produce documents located outside the United States; and is there a role for judicial estoppel in determining whether an application pursuant to 28 U.S.C. ${\S}1782$ should be granted?

The intention of this article is to check for the believers in Daesoonjinrihoe how to perceive the gods who they believe in. For that intention, I explained how the perception of gods in Daesoonjinrihoe is different from the perception of gods in other religions. To make a long story short, because of its polytheism the idea of god in Daesoonjinrihoe is different from monotheism such as Christianity, Islam. In addition, in spite of its polytheism it is different from other polytheism such as the religion in ancient India, especially rig-vedicreligion. In this article it is said that the believers in Daesoonjinrihoe have understood the distinction between Shin(神) and Shinmyung(神明). Nowadays Shin that has been used in Korea, China, Japan, is the word that was translated from English god. Therefore we need to reappraise the meaning of the word Shin. Anyway Shin that is being used in general means Shinmyung in Daesoonjinrihoe. Instead when they say the name of functional gods and the name to which the meaning of its origin affixed, the word Shin is used. Meanwhile, it has the advantage of classifying the ideas of god, but we can't explain all of them through the use of those classifications. I checked some classifications in this article and tried to apply the idea of gods in Daesoonjinrihoe. As a result, each classification has some critical points. There fore in this article I explained the distinguishing ideas of god in Daesoonjinrihoe from that in other religions, instead of the explaining fitted those classifications.
