부부갈등과 유아의 문제행동 간 관계에서 어머니 우울의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effects of Mothers' Depression on the Relationship of Marital Conflict and Young Children's Problem Behaviors)

  • 본 연구는 부부갈등과 유아의 문제행동 간 관계에서 어머니 우울의 매개효과를 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 만 4, 5세의 유아 177명과 그 어머니였다. 본 연구의 자료를 분석한 결과, 부부갈등 및 어머니의 우울은 유아의 문제행동과 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 어머니의 부부갈등과 유아의 과잉행동, 불안행동, 공격행동 간에도 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 어머니 우울과 유아의 과잉행동, 불안행동, 공격행동 간에도 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 부부갈등과 유아의 문제행동 간의 관계에서 어머니 우울의 매개효과를 분석한 결과, 부부갈등과 유아의 문제행동 간 관계에서 어머니의 우울은 완전 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 부부갈등은 유아의 과잉행동, 불안행동, 공격행동에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않고, 어머니의 우울을 통해 간접적으로 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • This study examined mothers′ confidence in parenting practices for dealing with children′s emotional and behavioral problems, as well as the relationships between different confident parenting practices and their application to children′s behavioral problems. A total of 337 mothers of 4- and 5-year-old children responded to the Mother′s Questionnaire of Children′s Behaviors, with the following study results. First, the mothers showed high confidence in applying their own parenting practices to their children′s behavioral problems without outside help. Second, the parenting practice of "asking for help from family members" was related to children′s withdrawn behaviors, anxious behaviors, aggressive behaviors, social relationship problems, moral problems, and rule and courtesy problems.

취업모의 직업만족도 및 양육행동과 남녀 아동의 문제행동간의 관계 (Job Satisfaction and Parenting Behavior of Working Mothers and Children's Problem Behavior)

  • A sample of 654 elementary school children(330 boys and 324 girls) and their mothers responded to three questionnaires regarding mother's job satisfaction and parenting behavior and children's problem behavior. Results showed that working mothers perceived themselves as more permissive/neglecting compared with non-working mothers. Children of working mothers perceived themselves as hyperactive, anxious, withdrawn, aggressive, and immature. Parenting of working mothers with higher job satisfaction was more warm/accepting; their daughters perceived themselves as less anxious, withdrawn, and immature than children of mothers with lower job satisfaction. Children of rejecting/restrictive working mothers, especially girls, reported hyperactive, withdrawn, aggressive, and immature behaviors. Children of permissive/neglecting working mothers were immature. Warm/accepting parenting of working mothers played mediating roles between their job satisfaction and maturity of their daughters' behavior.

유아의 자기조절력과 교사-유아 관계가 유아의 사회적 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Children's Self-regulation and Teacher-Child Relationships on Children's Social Behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of children's self-regulation and teacher-child relationships on children's social behaviors. Participants were 239 4- to 5-year-old children(114 boys, 125 girls) and their 23 teachers. The teachers completed rating scales to measure children's social behaviors and teacher-child relationships. Children's self-regulation was assessed by a mother reported questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlations and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, Children's social behaviors were partially correlated with children's self-regulation and teacher-child relationships. Second, The most influential factor by children's social behaviors was teacher-child relationship. Specially, teacher-child intimacy was the most powerful factor predicting children's asocial behavior and prosocial behavior. While teacher-child conflict was the most powerful factor influencing children's aggressive behavior, hyperactive-distractible behavior and anxious-fearful behavior. Findings are discussed in terms of the importance of teacher-child relationships in the context of program development and guidance for maladjusted children.

아동이 지각한 부모-자녀간 의사소통 방식 및 스트레스 대처행동과 아동의 행동문제와의 관계 (The relationships among children's perceived parent-child communication style, stress coring behaviors and behavior problems.)

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain basic data needed to understand school-age children's parent-child communication style, stress coping behaviors, and child behavior problems. The subject of this study were 362 primary school children (the fourth and the sixth graders) and their mothers in "D" Metropolitan City, Korea. The research tools included standardized parent-child communication style scale (Min,l991), stress coping behaviors scale (Min,1998), and child behavior problems scale (Hun,l996). The data were analyzed using statistical techniques such as Mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentile, t-test, F-test, pearson's correlational analysis, stepwise regression analysis. In the relationship between child perceived parent-child communication style and stress coping behaviors, the children who make open communication with their parents demonstrate high problem-solving, support-seeking coping behavior. The children with closed communication with their parents have high hope expectation, revenge coping behavior. In the relationship between child perceived parent-child communication style and child behavior problem, the children making more closed communication with their parents show more behavior problems. The children with more closed communication with their mothers have more hyperactive behaviors, aggressive behaviors, and immature behaviors, and the children who are making more closed communication retain more anxious behaviors and withdrawn behaviors. In the relationship between child stress coping behaviors and behavior problems, the more problem-solving and support-seeking coping behaviors the children possess, the less problem behaviors they demonstrate. The more hope expectation, revenge coping behavior the children possess, the more problem behaviors they show. With the results above, we can find out that parent-child communication style has an effect on stress coping behavior, and parent-child communication style and stress coping behavior have an influence on child behavior problem.

부부갈등과 유아의 기질 및 정서조절능력이 유아의 문제행동에 미치는 영향 (Problem Behavior of Preschool Children : The Influence of Marital Conflict and of Children's Temperament and Emotion Regulation)

  • In this study of the influence of marital conflict and of children's temperament and emotion regulation on problem behavior, 194 mothers of 3- to 5-year-old children responded to the O'Leary- Poter Scale(1980), the Emotionality, Activity and Shyness scale(Buss & Plomin, 1984) and the Emotion Regulation Checklist(Shields & Cicchetti, 1997); teachers rated children's behavior on the Problem Behavior Questionnaire(Behar & Stringfield, 1974). Data were analyzed by independent t-tests, correlations, and multiple regressions. Results demonstrated that shyness, activity, and emotion regulation had direct effects on hostile-aggressive behaviors. Shy temperament had a direct effect on fearful-anxious behavior. Both marital conflict and temperament influenced hostile-aggressive behaviors indirectly through emotion regulation, implying a crucial role of emotion regulation in preschoolers' social development.

  • This study examined replication of the factor structure of the DAPC [Domain-specific Assessment of Psychological Control (Soenens et al., 2006)] in parents of Korean adolescents. Participants included 289 adolescents who responded to DAPC items regarding their parents' psychological control behaviors. Two factors comprising 17 items were identified and labeled as "achievement oriented psychological control", and "separation-anxious psychological control." Confirmatory factor analysis and partial correlation analysis provided evidence for the construct validity of the DAPC through construct reliability, convergent validity and discriminant validity across both sex of parents and adolescents. The psychometric properties indicated that DAPC could be useful in studying parents' psychological control behaviors toward their adolescent children.

또래지위에 따른 아동의 사회적 정보처리 능력과 사회적 행동 특성 (Children's Social Information Processing and Social Behavior in relation to Peer Status)

  • This study was designed to test the differences in children's social information-processing patterns and bahavioral characteristics among four different groups of peer status, and to evaluate the predictability of peer status from social information-processing and social behavior. In addition, age and sex differences were assessed. The subjects were 80 boys and 80 girls identified as popular, average, neglected, and rejected by their peers in the first and the third grade. They responded to a sociometric test and three hypothetical social dilemmas, while behavioral characteristics were rated by their teachers. The data were analyzed by ANOVAs, and discriminant analyses. The results showed that children's social information-processing patterns were not significantly different by peer status except the number of interventions requested. Whereas children's behavioral characteristics were different by peer status in all of the four domains. Children's social information-processing patterns and behavioral characteristics were different in part by age and sex. The important predictors of peer status were hyperactive-distractive, anxious-withdrawn, sociable-prosocial behaviors, and the number of interventions requested.

청소년기 정서 및 행동문제의 성차 (GENDER DIFFERENCES IN EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS OF KOREAN ADOLESCENTS)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 청소년들을 대상으로 문제행동증후군과 사회능력에 있어서의 성차에 대하여 조사하는 것이다. 12세에서 17세 사이의 청소년 6570명(남 2549명, 여 4021명)의 K-YSR자료와 부모 2373명(남자 청소년 1173명, 여자 청소년 1200명)의 K-CBCL자료를 분석하였다. K-YSR분석 결과, 남자 청소년은 사회적 미성숙 척도와 비행척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보고했고, 여자 청소년은 내재화 문제와 총행동문제증후군 척도에서 뿐만 아니라 위축, 신체 증상, 우울/불안, 공격성 척도에서도 높은 평균 점수를 보고하였다. 또한 여자 청소년들은 사회성과 총 사회능력 척도에서도 높은 점수를 보고하였다. K-CBCL에서는 부모가 남자 청소년에 대해 주의집중 문제와 비행 척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보고하고 있는 반면, 여자 청소년에 대해서는 내재화 문제 뿐 아니라 위축, 신체 증상, 우울/불안, 공격성 척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보고하였다. 부모의 보고인 K-CBCL의 사회능력 척도에서는 성차가 발견되지 않았다. 요약하면, K-YSR과 K-CBCL 모두에서 여자 청소년들은 내재화 문제에서 일관적으로 높은 점수를 보이고 있으며, 외현화 문제에 있어서는 유의미한 성차가 발견되지 않았다. 그러나 여자 청소년의 경우 외현화문제에 해당하는 소척도 중 공격성 척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보였다.

가정폭력에 대한 부부치료 사례 분석 : 가정폭력 쉼터에 거주하는 부인을 대상으로 (Case study on the couple therapy for family violence : Focusing on the wife residing in a shelter)

  • This study analyzed a family therapy case which dealt with family violence and was consisted of 14 sessions. The therapeutic perspective for this case was MRI model, a strategic family therapy model which emphasizes attempted solutions and interactions. The results of this study were as follows. This study found the interaction process of occurring family violence. When the husband attempted conversations with his wife after drinking, the wife who was anxious and dreadful avoided conversation. This avoidance made the husband felt rejected feeling, and he battered his wife. The avoidance of conversation, an attempted solution of wife, was made from her frame of reference which was affected from her original family context and the couple's communication style in ordinary times. The therapist made the couple recognize their attempted solutions were not effective, and he helped them begin new solutions or coping behaviors. This intervention process was long and hard, but the couple changed their attempted solutions to new solutions which were clear communication styles and functional interaction process. This study results showed the effectiveness of couple therapy on family violence. The effectiveness of MRI model was also proved from the study. The results of study will be helpful to the family therapists and counsellors in the field of family violence.
