  • Permalloys were successfully fabricated by melt drag casting in the present study, and their variation of microstructure and consequent magnetic properties were investigated as a function of Si contents and annealing temperature. The increases in Si content and annealing temperature resulted in the increases of grain size and amount of $Ni_3Fe$ ordered phase. Both the grain size and $Ni_3Fe$ ordered phase controlled by Si and annealing temperature had a important role on permeability of permalloys.

  • Strip samples of AA 3103 were deformed by Continuous confined strip shearing (CCSS). The CCSS process was designed to provide a repeated shear deformation in metallic sheet materials. CCSS led to the formation of characteristic shear textures comprising a pronounced{111}<uvw> orientations. The intensity of the deformation texture hardly increased with increasing number of CCSS passes. EBSD equipped in a FESEM with a high beam current revealed the formation of fine grains even after annealing for the recrystallization.

  • The effect of carbon on the microstructure and texture of low carbon steels was investigated in a series of 1.6 Mn-0.3Cr-0.2Mo-0.001B steels with carbon ranging from 0.021 to 0.048%. Intensity of {111} orientation increased with decreasing the carbon content, resulting in the increase in $r_m$ value. The highest $r_m$ value of 1.30 was obtained in 0.021%C steel annealed at $820{\sim}850^{\circ}C$ according to the typical galvannealing heat cycle. Martensite volume fraction was not substantially affected by the annealing temperature. It was found that the fine and uniformly distributed martensite particles which were present in amounts of about 5% volume fraction were desirable for the highest $r_m$ value. The other factor affecting the high $r_m$ value was the preferred epitaxial growth of retained ferrite with {111} orientation into austenite during cooling.

  • A Abstract Systematic studies of the effects of crystalline forms of starting powders and p processing variables on the texture of hot - pressed silicon carbide are described. The results I indicate that hot - pressing of $\beta$ - SiC can produce strong textures and composite type duplex microstructure due to the ${\beta} {\rightarrow} {\alpha}$ phase transformation of SiC. The texture variations d during post - annealing have been observed. In the case of using a - SiC as starting pow¬d ders, the degree of preferred orientation by hot - pressing is relatively weak.

  • In order to study the effect of lubrication during hot rolling, ferritic stainless steel (FSS) sheet were hot-rolled with and without application of lubrication. The effect of two hot rolling processes on the evolution of texture and microstructure after hot rolling, cold rolling and subsequent recrystallization annealing was studied by means of macro-texture analysis and microstructure observations. After hot rolling, the specimen rolled with lubrication showed rolling textures at the sheet surface, while the specimen rolled without lubrication displayed shear textures in the outer layers of the sheet. Hot rolling with lubrication was beneficial to the formation of strong recrystallization textures at sheet surface. However, hot rolling with lubrication led to the formation of orientation colonies in outer thickness layers of the recrystallized sheet.

  • Texture is extensively studied in a variety of image processing applications such as image segmentation and classification because it is an important property to perceive regions and surfaces. This paper focused on the analysis and synthesis of textured single and multiband images using Markov Random Field model considering the existent spatial correlation. Especially, for multiband images, the cross-channel correlation existing between bands as well as the spatial correlation within band should be considered in the model. Although a local interaction is assumed between the specified neighboring pixels in MRF models, during the maximization process, short-term correlations among neighboring pixels develop into long-term correlations. This result in exhibiting phase transition. In this research, the role of temperature to obtain the most probable state during the sampling procedure in discrete Markov Random Fields and the stopping rule were also studied.

  • Desirable substrates for $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$ coated conductor are highly cube textured Ni or Ni-alloy tapes, which can be produced by cold rolling and recrystallization annealing. We have fabricated hi-axially textured pure Ni tapes for the application of coated conductors. The sintered Ni rod was cold-rolled into the thin tapes of $50{\mu}m$ thickness and the tapes were heat-treated for texture development with line-focused infrared heater. The temperature was maintained at $800\sim1050^{\circ}C$, using 1kW double ended linear halogen lamp in $96%Ar-4%H_2$ atmosphere The biaxially tortured Ni tapes were successfully formed by line-focused infrared heat treatment The texture of the annealed Ni tapes was analysed using the GADDS (general area detector diffraction system). The full width at half maximum values of phi and omega scan for the Ni tapes were less than $10^{\circ}$ and the grain size was $20-50{\mu}m$.

  • Copper thin films were deposited on a Cu/Ta/Si substrate using the electroplating technique. Deposition rate was about 200 nm/min in proportion to current density and in inverse proportion to flow rate. Resistivity of copper thin film was approximately 2.1 ${\mu}$Ωcm and Int$\sub$(111)//Int$\sub$(200)/ ratio of copper film was 5.4 and no significant impurities were detected. After the deposition, electroplating copper films were annealed at various temperatures in a background pressure of 10$\^$-3/ torr. The resistivity of copper thin films were improved by ∼17 % and texture was improved by ∼40 % after annealing at 170$^{\circ}C$. The stress in films was not reduced much after annealing below 170$^{\circ}C$.

  • The transparent conductive oxide(TCO) has been used in necessity as front electrode for increasing efficiency of LED. In our paper, aluminium-doped zinc oxide films(AZO), which has transparent conducting were prepared with RF magnetron sputtering system on glass substrate(corning 1737) and annealed at $400^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr in vacuum ambient and $600^{\circ}C$ for 2hr with $O_2$ ambient respectively. The smooth AZO films were etched in diluted HCL(0.5 %) to examine the surface properties, which in ambient post-annealing process. We confirmed that the electric, structural and optical properties of textured AZO thin films, which implemented using the methods of XRD, FWHM, AFM and Hall measurement. The properties of textured AZO thin films especially depended on the ambient post-annealing process. We presumed that the change of transmittances as R G B LED and the ambient post-annealing process will be increasing the efficiency of LED.
