The Understanding of the Analytic Scoring Method on the Essay Type Item of Secondary School Mathematics (중등수학 교과에서의 서술형 문항에 대한 분석적 점수화 채점방법의 이해)

  • This study was conducted under the necessity and importance of having to looking into how teachers understood and carried out the analytic scoring method on the essay type item. Namely, this study explored there would be difference in the analytic scoring method consequent on the nature of the essay type item between the preliminary mathematics teachers in the secondary school. For this purpose, in this study, pre-test was conducted for the subject on the 2nd 15 undergraduate students. The pre-test was conducted without (before) lecture on the analytic scoring method on the essay type item, and the post-test was conducted after lecture on the analytic scoring method on the essay type item and practice on the scoring the item with the analytic method. Then this study used a problem on the mathematical assessment(the analytic scoring method) which was one of the items in 2016 secondary school teacher selection exam. After the experiment, the subjects were enhanced not only to understand the importance of the scoring methods but to narrow the difference the results of score on the items between the subjects.

An Analysis on Reliabilities of Scoring Methods and Rubric Ratings Number for Performance Assessments of Middle School Students' Science Investigation Activities (중학생 과학탐구활동 수행평가 시 채점 방식 및 척도의 수에 따른 신뢰도 분석)

  • In this study, reliabilities of holistic scoring method and analytic scoring method were analyzed in performance assessments of middle school students' science investigation activity. Reliabilities of 2, 3, and 4~7-level rubric ratings for analytic scoring methods were compared to figure out optimized numbers of rubric ratings. Two trained raters rated four activity sheets of 60 students by two rating methods and three kinds of rubric ratings. Internal consistency reliabilities of holistic scoring methods were higher than those of analytic scoring methods, while intrarater reliabilities of analytic scoring were higher than those of holistic scoring methods. Internal consistency reliabilities and intra-rater reliabilities of 3-level rubric rating showed similar patterns of 4~7-level rubric ratings. But students' discriminations, item difficulties and item-response curves showed that the 3-level rubric ratings was reliable. These results suggest that holistic scoring method could be adapted to increase internal consistency reliabilities with improvement in intra-rater reliabilities by rater's conferences. Also, the 3-level rubric rating would be enough for good reliability in case of adapting analytic scoring methods.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate a priority and selection of agricultural specialization items from Daegu and Gyeongbuk region by using analytical tools such as, the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and the Scoring Method. The results of this study are as follows; 1) Five major items were selected for each region based on Daegu and Gyeongbuk regional agricultural performances. 2) The results of AHP analysis, Daegu and Gyeongbuk's agricultural experts evaluated the weight of three decision-elements(objectiveness 0.35, efficiency 0.341, identity 0.309) and seven decision-elements. 3) Results of AHP and Scoring Method analysis, Investigated a priority of agricultural specialization 3 items in 25 cities and districts Daegu and Gyeongbuk regional agricultural performances. 4) Finally, The results of this study will provide basic information on agricultural specialization policy in Daegu and Gyeongbuk region.

Measurement of Physician's Work for Korean Medicine Services Using Analytic Hierarchy Process (계층화 분석법(Analytic Hierarchy Process)을 활용한 한의사 업무량 산출)

  • Background: The resource-based relative value scale has been applied to Korean medicine services as part of the National Health Insurance, yet the proper scoring method for physician's work needs to be developed. Objectives: To measure physician's work for Korean medicine services using Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) and to compare results abstracted by AHP with those by Magnitude Estimation method. Methods: We developed the AHP questionnaires for Korean Medicine services and administered it to 12 Korean medicine insurance experts. Weighted scores were calculated and were converted into physician's work scores. Results: In AHP measurement, the physician's work scores for acupuncture activities, especially special acupunctures, far increased, while those for diagnosis and basic consultations decreased. Variations in the scores enlarged. Conclusions: As an alternative, AHP method can be considered for measuring the physician's work for Korean medicine services with careful management of scoring variation.

Alternative Assessment in Mathematics Education (대안적인 평가를 통한 수학교육)

  • The purpose of this study is to define the altenative assessment and to suggest the method of scoring system. Alternative assessment includes any type of assessment in which student create reponses to a question rather than choosing a responses form given list( as for multiple choice, true/false, or matching). Alternative assessment can includes short answer questions, essay, performances, oral presentation, demonstrations, exhibitions, portfolios, and etc. To evaluate the each type of assessment, we can apply the method of holistic scoring and analytic scoring system. Also we have to concern the type of scoring mechanism directly relate to what we want to assess, our purpose for assessment fitting into the educational enterprise. Before applying the alternative assessment in our classroom, we need to step back and reconsider all our design features and teachers' responsibility.

  • We are developing computer integrated polysomnography system. This system integrates conventional polysomnography with computer for data management, automatic analysis, scoring, and data transmission. In the first stage, we have developed the signal interface and user interface for the manual scoring and data management. For the automatic scoring of sleep stage, we have developed the protocol and have applied the analytic method in its primitive form. In the second stage we will develope a partially automatic scoring system, and finalize the fully automatic system in the final third stage.

Developing Location-Evaluation Model on Community Facilities in Rural Villages Considering Accessibility for Urban-Rural Exchange (도농교류 접근성을 고려한 농촌마을 공동시설의 입지평가모델 개발)

  • Although the frequency of use for community facilities in rural villages is growing as well as the importance of the facilities for urban-rural exchange is being highlighted, study on spatial location-analysis of the facilities for such multi-purpose is not so much. This study aims to find the spatial distribution forms of community facilities in rural villages such as community center and rural-pocket park through location-analysis, in order to provide available data for selecting location in the future. As the study area, Sojeong-myeon, Sejong Special City was selected. This study conducted GIS analysis for criteria of the location-evaluation model developed in this study. This study introduced the concept of time-distance for accessibility analysis. This paper also used linear-consecutive scoring method(LCSM) as a scoring method of criteria and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method for weighting values of criteria. The application results showed that the new model can generate the intensity of community facilities according to spatial distribution and accessibility from cities to the facilities.

A Chaos of Understanding on Performance Assessment in Mathematics Education (수학과 수행평가에 관한 이해의 혼돈 -최근 국내 논문 분석을 중심으로-)

  • From the mid-1990s in Korea, performance assessment has been continuously emphasized in school mathematics and thus many researchers and teachers have been steadily studying this topic. But the concepts relevant to performance assessment and its purposes are very confusing because the mathematics educators' different views and voices are vary. As a result most mathematics teachers experience trouble in executing performance assessment properly and effectively in their math class. This unability for proper execution of performance assessment was once again revealed in this study which dealt with 15 articles on performance assessment. These 15 articles includes almost every article written on the topic of performance assessment that have been published in 4 domestic journals since December 1997. By examining this inability, it is required that its concepts and purposes should be organized with a common view and newly defined in the near future.   • World have been encouraged to develop technologies that contribute to CO$_2$ emission reduction for many years. Those technologies can be categorized into capture, storage or sequestration, utilization, etc. There have been lots of efforts, in Korea, to develop the technology as well. In this paper, the impact factors of the technologies, especially in CDRS (Carbon Dioxide Reduction & Sequestration Center), were selected and were weighed by SMM (Storing Models Method) and AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) in order to evaluate the four representative areas of the technologies.

  • The aim of this paper is to show the process of R&D Project-Priority Ordering in the Defense Technology field. We propose specific methods (Delphi, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Scoring) to order the R&D Project-Priority. In general, to decide the priority of R&D projects most of researches depend on questionnaires which are surveyed by experts. However, it is criticized that this process cannot reflect the limitation of experience and knowledge of experts. In this process, we separate evaluators in two parts: the first is strategic experts, the second is technical experts. Evaluators can choose and evaluate the alternatives which they are familiar with, so we can obtain reliable results. Finally, based on our process of the R&D Project-Priority Ordering we formulate policy implications for managing the defense technology.
