  • In the wireless sensor network environment, clustering scheme has a problem that a large amount of energy is unnecessarily consumed because of frequently occurred entire re-clustering process. Some of the studies were attempted to improve the network performance by getting rid of the entire network setup process. However, removing the setup process is not worthy. Because entire network setup relieves the burden of some sensor nodes. The primary aim of our scheme is to cut down the energy consumption through minimizing entire setup processes which occurred unnecessarily. Thus, we suggest a re-clustering scheme that considers event detection, transmitting energy, and the load on the nodes. According to the result of performance analysis, our scheme reduces energy consumption of nodes, prolongs the network lifetime, and shows higher data collection rate and higher data accuracy than the existing schemes.

  • The collection of PM10 samples were collected by a PM10 hi-vol. air sampler from June, 1998 through May, 1999 in Kunsan located at western coastal region of Korea. We obtained 84 samples during sampling period. Samples were analyzed to quantify the concentration of ionic and metallic components such as SO42-, NO3-, Cl-, NH4+, K+, Na+, Mg2+, Zn, Cd, Cr, Pb and Fe. Seasonal variations of the concentrations by wind directions of each component were studied. We found that PM10 concentration had the highest level in winter and the lowest level in summer. When the wind direction is from west to east, the concentration of most ionic and metallic species were higher compared to reverse direction. That implied the effect of air pollutants from industrial area. Also, substantial amount of Na+ and Cl- were observed, which was assumed to the effect from the sea.

  • Through our study, bill of exchange is defined as a written document that contains an order from the drawer directed to the drawee during which the predetermined amount must be paid within a certain time period or on sight. The research begins with an examination of how it was founded, the parties involved, and the organizer's formal conditions. Then, it discusses how to negotiate a bill of exchange through endorsement along with the different types of endorsement and its ramifications. The research concludes by elucidating the bill of exchange impact on the business community, since it decreases commercial conflicts and enables merchants to benefit from, circulate, and recycle their debts without being damaged by debts collection delays.

  • The impact of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is the global issue over the world. Korean government has presented various policies to induce GHG reduction for the industries with high energy consumption such as power generation and chemistry. Construction sector has produced a large amount of GHG emissions resulted in the energy consumption of heavy equipments and the use of materials. This study aims to suggest the QA (Quality Assurance) and QC (Quality Control) method to identify and quantify the GHG emissions released from heavy equipments in the railroad construction sector. Generally, the accuracy and reliability of GHG inventory is dependent on the data collection. Therefore, it is necessary to mange the detailed statements for the fuel consumption of heavy equipments and the quantity of work in the field. Also, the breakdown of GHG emission sources should be recorded from the design step of railroad infrastructures. Based on these data, the GHG reduction technologies and polices can be applied in railroad construction sector.

  • The advanced driver assistant system (ADAS) requires the collection of a large amount of information including road conditions, environment, vehicle status, condition of the driver, and other useful data. In this regard, large-scale sensor networks can be an appropriate solution since they have been designed for this purpose. Recent advances in sensor network technology have enabled the management and monitoring of large-scale tasks such as the monitoring of road surface temperature on a highway. In this paper, we consider the estimation and fusion problems of the large-scale sensor networks used in the ADAS. Hierarchical fusion architecture is proposed for an arbitrary topology of the large-scale sensor network. A robust cluster estimator is proposed to achieve robustness of the network against outliers or failure of sensors. Lastly, a robust hierarchical data fusion scheme is proposed for the communication channel between the clusters and fusion center, considering the non-Gaussian channel noise, which is typical in communication systems.

  • It is expected that the proportion of crushed aggregate will increase in order to fill the decreasing supply of sea sand in the southeast area. However, it is necessary to supply the least amount of sea sand to diversify the aggregate source, in order to minimize the mixing ratio of sea sand and crushed sand to minimize the structural stability of the concrete.

  • Several methods exist for detecting hacking programs operating within online games. However, a significant amount of computational power is required to detect the illegal access of a hacking program in game clients. In this study, we propose a novel detection method that analyzes the protected memory area and the hacking program's process in real time. Our proposed method is composed of a three-step process: the collection of information from each PC, separation of the collected information according to OS and version, and analysis of the separated memory information. As a result, we successfully detect malicious injected dynamic link libraries in the normal memory space.

  • Exhaust gas containing wood tar of high concentration is discharged from charcoal production kilns. The large amount of emissions are often found by operational failure. The purpose of this study is to investigate the performance of an integrated treatment system in treating charcoal production exhaust. The system, which combined a tar collection device and a post-combustion unit, was proposed to remove moisture, wood tar, particulate matter, and other gas-phase pollutants (CO, $CH_4$, total hydrogen carbons) from exhaust gases. Heat recovery units were also applied in the system to utilize waste heat.

  • 3D reconstruction of urban architecture, land, and roads is an important part of building a "digital city." Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are gradually replacing other platforms, such as satellites and aircraft, in geographical image collection; the reason for this is not only lower cost and higher efficiency, but also higher data accuracy and a larger amount of obtained information. Recent 3D reconstruction algorithms have a high degree of automation, but their computation time is long and the reconstruction models may have many voids. This paper decomposes the object into multiple regional parallel reconstructions using the clustering principle, to reduce the computation time and improve the model quality. It is proposed to detect the planar area under low resolution, and then reduce the number of point clouds in the complex area.

  • A-50-year-old male patient presented with complaint of tenderness on the left malar area after traffic accident. Our first impression on him was zygomatic fracture, we did radiologic work-up and physical examination on him. But, on the computed tomography scan, there was no fracture or discontinuity on his facial bone. The computed tomography scan was revealed a 4-cm long foreign body in left maxillary sinus with a large amount of fluid collection. After thorough history taking from him, we reveal the patient had a history of trauma 30 years back on the left zygomatic area with a chopstick. The foreign body was removed via transoral approach with the endoscopic assist. There was no complication after operation.
