Determination of taxiing resistances for transport category airplane tractive propulsion

  • For the past ten years' efforts have been made to introduce environmentally-friendly "green" electric-taxi and maneuvering airplane systems. The stated purpose of e-taxi systems is to reduce the taxiing fuel expenses, expedite pushback procedures, reduce gate congestion, reduce ground crew involvement, and reduce noise and air pollution levels at large airports. Airplane-based autonomous traction electric motors receive power from airplane's APU(s) possibly supplemented by onboard batteries. Using additional battery energy storages ads significant inert weight. Systems utilizing nose-gear traction alone are often traction-limited posing serious dispatch problems that could disrupt airport operations. Existing APU capacities are insufficient to deliver power for tractive taxiing while also providing for power off-takes. In order to perform comparative and objective analysis of taxi tractive requirements a "standard" taxiing cycle has been proposed. An analysis of reasonably expected tractive resistances has to account for steepest taxiway and runway slopes, taxiing into strong headwind, minimum required coasting speeds, and minimum acceptable acceleration requirements due to runway incursions issues. A mathematical model of tractive resistances was developed and was tested using six different production airplanes all at the maximum taxi/ramp weights. The model estimates the tractive force, energy, average and peak power requirements. It has been estimated that required maximum net tractive force should be 10% to 15% of the taxi weight for safe and expeditious airport movements. Hence, airplanes can be dispatched to move independently if the operational tractive taxi coefficient is 0.1 or higher.

각초 수분이 궐련의 끝빠짐에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Moisture Contents of Cut Tobaccos on Loose End of Cigarettes)

  • In this work, we studied the effects of the moisture contents of cut tobacco on loose end of cigarettes. The loose end of the cigarette groups decreased with the increase of moisture contents of the cut tobacco and especially the loose end of A and C groups decreased to $31\%\;and\;52\%$ with the increase of $1\%$ moisture contents. $A-13.5\%\;and\;B-14.0\%\;and\; C-14.0\%$ moisture samples showed the increase of the weight ratio of cut tobacco over 1.4mm cut length but the decrease under 1.4mm cut length. We concluded that the main reasons were regarded to reduction of small fragment tobaccos caused by increase of moisture contents and exception of air-suction transport of tobaccos to cigarette making machine. In spite of the moisture increase of cut tobaccos under fixed EPD(encapsulated pressure drop), the hardness of Band C sample groups were maintained constantly except A group. This result means that under fixed EPD, the weight of cut tobacco in cigarette rods increases to compensate the reduction of pressure drop by moisture increase of cut tobaccos.

  • The 21th century is carried out a rearing activity of green industries as a part of friendly echo policy for preservation of earth environment. Korean government is spreaded on a whole country to setting up a goal to a sustainable growth power of national for low carbon green growth. The recently rolling stock is received the footlights as a best friendly echo transportation of transport system of automobile, airplane, ship etc., also that is playing a big role to reduction of $CO_2$ greenhouse gas and a discharge of air pollution. This study was carried out the investigation and analysis for technology trend of the system light-weighting of a recently urban railway vehicle on commercial operating in domestic and foreign countries. As the results are proposed a short-term development technology and a long-term development technology of the system light-weighting to be developed for reduction weight of urban railway vehicle.

건조 하수 슬러지의 열분해 및 고정층 연소 특성 연구 (Pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of dried sewage sludge in a fixed bed reactor)

  • The practical route for disposal of sewage sludge becomes energy recovery by combustion after its ocean dumping is banned in 2012 in Korea. Due to the high moisture content, however, sewage sludge is required to be dried before transport and combustion. In this study, pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of dried sewage sludge was investigated in a small-scale fixed bed reactor in order to provide fundamental data for energy recovery of the fuel. As the first step of combustion, the primary products of pyrolysis were analyzed in a fixed bed reactor for the condensable volatiles (tar), non-condensable gases, and char. For the combustion characteristics, another fixed bed reactor was constructed to monitor the weight and temperature of the fuel particles during ignition and combustion under different air flow rates. The test results were used to derive the ignition and burning rates.

High-temperature Oxidation of Nano-multilayered AlTiSiN Thin Films deposited on WC-based carbides

  • Nano-multilayered, crystalline AlTiSiN thin films were deposited on WC-TiC-Co substrates by the cathodic arc plasma deposition. The deposited film consisted of wurtzite-type AlN, NaCl-type TiN, and tetragonal $Ti_2N$ phases. Their oxidation characteristics were studied at 800 and $900^{\circ}C$ for up to 20 h in air. The WC-TiC-Co oxidized fast with large weight gains. By contrast, the AlTiSiN film displayed superior oxidation resistance, due mainly to formation of the ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$-rich surface oxide layer, below which an ($Al_2O_3$, $TiO_2$, $SiO_2$)-intermixed scale existed. Their oxidation progressed primarily by the outward diffusion of nitrogen, combined with the inward transport of oxygen that gradually reacted with Al, Ti, and Si in the film.

유해 대기오염물질의 난류확산 수치모의에서 침적한과 부력항 추가에 따른 효과 (Addition Effect of the Deposition and Buoyancy Terms in Modeling Turbulence Diffusion of Hazardous Air Pollutants)

  • Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) are characterized by being relatively heavier and denser than that of ambient air due to the various reasons such as higher molecular weight, low temperature and other complicated chemical transformations (Witlox, 1994). In an effort to investigate transport and diffusion from instantaneous emission of heavy gas, Lagrangian Particle Dispersion Model (LPDM) coupled with the RAMS output was employed. Both deposition process and buoyancy term were added on the atmospheric diffusion equations of LPDM, and the locations and concentrations of dense gas particle released from instantaneous single point source (emitting initially for 10 minutes only) were analyzed. The result overall shows that adding deposition process and buoyancy terms on the diffusion equation of LPDM has very small but detectable effect on the vertical and horizontal distribution of Lagrangian particles that especially transported for a fairly long traveling time. Also the slumping of dense gas can be found to be ignored horizontally compared to the advection by the horizontal wind suggesting that it was essential to couple the Lagrangian particle dispersion model coupled with the RAMS model in order to explain the dispersion of HAPs more accurately. However, during the initial time of instantaneous emission, buoyancy term play an important role on the vertical locations of dense particles for near surface atmosphere and around source area, indicating the importance of densities of HAPs in the beginning stage or short duration for the risk assessment of HAPs or management of heavy vapors during the explosive accidents.

일본 항공법상의 공역체계와 무인항공기 규제 (The Air Space System and UVA's Regulation in Japanese Civil Aeronautics Act)

  • 본 논문에서는 일본 항공법상 무인항공기의 규제 전반을 개괄적으로 살펴보았다. 먼저 일본 항공법상의 항공기 개념과 공역체계를 검토한 후, 무인항공기의 비행공역 규제와 비행방법 규제를 구체적으로 검토해 보았다. 무인항공기 규제에 관한 일본법과 우리법의 비교분석의 결과로서 다음과 같은 몇 가지 시사점들을 생각해 볼 수 있었다. 첫째, 항공안전법상 무인항공기에 관한 일반적인 정의규정이 필요하다고 생각된다. 항공안전법은 항공기의 한 종류로서 '무인항공기'를 규정하고, 초경량비행장치의 한 종류로서 '무인비행장치'를 규정하여 각각의 개별규제를 실시한다. 이로 인해 무인항공기에 관한 일관적인 규제가 쉽지 않고, 규제 내용 역시 산재되어 있어 그 체계를 파악하기가 어렵다는 문제가 있다. 따라서 무인항공기에 관한 일반적인 정의규정을 마련하고 그 대상요건을 명확하게 지정할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 항공안전법상 무인항공기와 사람 물건과의 안전거리 지정이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 항공안전법에는 일본법과 같은 안전거리확보 규정이 없는데, 지상에 있는 인명 물건의 피해를 적극적으로 예방하기 위해서는 이와 관련한 명시적인 규정이 필요하다고 생각한다. 셋째, 항공안전법상 위험물 수송 금지에 관한 명시규정이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 위험물 수송은 단한번의 투하 또는 사고로도 수많은 인명피해와 재산손해를 초래할 수 있다. 따라서 이 부분에 대해서는 명확한 금지 규정을 두어 규제하는 것이 옳다고 본다. 넷째, 수색 구조 활동을 수행하는 무인항공기에 대해서는 특별한 허가나 승인 없이 이러한 활동을 수행할 수 있도록 하는 항공안전법상의 특별한 예외규정이 필요하다고 생각한다. 항공안전법의 경우에는 수색 구조와 관련하여 국가기관 등의 항공기에 대한 적용특례를 두고 있으나, 무인항공기에도 이와 같은 특례 적용이 가능한지 명확하지 않으므로, 일반적 규제 적용이 배제되는 명시적인 예외규정이 필요할 것으로 보인다.

FPD용 공기부상 이송컨베이어 시스템 개발 (Development of Air-floating Conveyor System for FPD)

  • 디스플레이 장치에서 기존의 CRT는 곡면이며 무겁고 큰 부피 때문에 LCD, PDP와 같은 평판디스플레이(FPD)로 대체되고 있다. FPD는 $0.6{\sim}0.8mm$ 두께의 대면적 글래스에 여러 공정을 거친 후에 최종 제품 규격으로 절단하여 제작하기 때문에 글래스의 면적이 크면 클수록 FPD의 생산성이 높다는 밀접한 관계를 갖는다. 따라서 FPD 제조 업계에서는 글래스 면적을 증가시키기 위하여 노력하고 있다. 7세대 글라스($2,220mm\;{\times}\;1,870mm\;{\times}\;0.7mm$)를 대상으로 유한요소해석 및 유동해석을 통하여 이송장치, 배급장치, 수평/경사 변환장치 및 제어장치로 구성된 비접촉 공기부상 이송시스템을 개발하였다. 본 개발에서 확보한 설계기술을 통하여 글라스의 크기가 대형화 되더라도 관련 이송장비를 보다 쉽게 제작하여 적용할 수 있다.

Manufacturing and Temperature Measurements of a Sodium Heat Pipe

  • A high-temperature sodium stainless steel heat pipe was fabricated and its performance has been investigated. The working fluid was sodium and it was sealed inside a straight tube container made of stainless steel. The amount of sodium occupied approximately 20% of the total volume of the heat pipe and its weight was 65.7gram. The length of a stainless steel container is 1002mm and its outside diameter is 25.4mm. Performance tests were carried out in a room air condition under a free convective environment and the measured temperatures are presented. The start-up behavior of the heat pipe from a frozen state was investigated for various heat input values between 600W and 1205W. In steady state, axial temperature distributions of a heat pipe were measured and its heat transfer rates were estimated in the range of vapor temperature from 50$0^{\circ}C$ to 63$0^{\circ}C$. It is found that there are small temperature differences in the vapor core along the axial direction of a sodium heat pipe for the high operating temperatures. But for the range of low operating temperatures there are large temperature drops along the vapor core region of a sodium heat pipe, because a small vapor pressure drop makes a large temperature drop. The transition temperature was reached more rapidly in the cases of high heat input rate for the sodium heat pipe.

충격파 개념에 기반한 유체 추력벡터제어에 관한 연구 (Fluidic Thrust Vector Control Using Shock Wave Concept)

  • 충격파 개념을 이용하는 유체 추력벡터 제어는 빠른 벡터링 응답, 간단한 구조 및 낮은 무게로 인하여 큰 벡터링 성능을 달성하는데 많은 이점을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 전산유체역학 기법을 사용하여 슬롯 인젝터를 가진 3차원 직사각형 초음속 노즐에 대하여 연구를 수행하였다. 계산 방법론을 검증하기 위하여 수치 결과를 실험 데이터로 비교하였다. 대칭 평면에서의 상부 및 하부 노즐벽을 따르는 압력분포는 시험 결과와 잘 일치하였다. $k-{\omega}$ SST 난류모델을 기반으로 한 수치해석을 통하여, 운동량 플럭스 비율의 영향을 철저히 조사하여 추력의 성능 변화를 명확하게 나타내었다.
