Meanwhile higher grade participants' (grade) food habit scores also changed (p<0.05), but their nutrition knowledge scores were changed. Boy's food habit scores significantly changed (p<0.05), whereas girl's food habit scores did not change significantly. Lower grade participants' attitudes on obesity significantly and desirably changed (p<0.05), whereas higher grade participants' attitudes on obesity changed insignificantly. Girl's knowledge and attitudes on obesity significantly and desirably changed (p<0.05-0.01). This study revealed the correlation between food habit scores and attitudes on obesity (p<0.01), demonstrating that participants with high food habit scores have advisable attitudes on obesity. The result of this study shows that lower grade participants' food habit scores, nutrition knowledge, and attitudes on obesity changed desirably after dietary education. • There has recently been Increased interest in the emotional intelligence (EQ) of elementary school students, which is recognized as a more important value than IQ (intelligence quotient) for predict of their success in school or later life. However, there are few sensory education programs, available to improve the EQ of elementary school student's in Korea. This study was conducted to develop an educational program that reflects the characteristics and contents of traditional rice culture and verify the effects of those programs on the EQ of children. The program was developed based on the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model and participants were elementary school students in $3^{rd}$ and $4^{th}$ grade (n = 120) in Cheonan, Korea. Descriptive statistics and paired t-tests were used. EQ scores pertaining to the basic sense group, culture group, and food group were significantly improved after the sensory educational program(P < 0.05), but no change was observed in the control group. These findings indicate that sensory education contributed to improving elementary school children's Emotional Intelligence (EI) and their actual understanding about Korean traditional rice culture.

  • This paper is to survey the cooperation between the school and the community with respect to the degree of share of their facilities. The hypothesis of this paper is that the share of facilities between the school and the community is helpful for the two. That is, the community, using the school facilities, can educate to upgrade its people to higher social level. The school, using the community facilities, can compensate insufficient school facilities and facilitate student learnings. This paper employed both a literature survey and a case study approach explained by the case of Seong Dong Gu and its schools. This paper argued that the share of the facilities between the school and the community is needed to facilitate student learnings and to upgrade community people to higher level. Thus, government should encourage the cooperation between the two. This paper found that the school can use other schools' facilities, camping facilities, various types of private institute, community libraries, social welfare centers, athlentic facilities, and park facilities in the community. Most of the facilities are rested during school hours and are vacant more or less after school hours, so that there are still room for share the facilities with the students. This paper found that the community can easily use school facilities for life-long education programs, house-wife classes, athlentic programs for daily life, recreation classes for community people because the school is located in the center of the community. These programs using school facilities can encourage to upgrade community persons' social levels. However, this paper found that the degree of community use is insufficient to fulfil the school facilities. Only a few percent of the school class rooms and other facilities are used by the community. Therefore this paper asserted that community education programs using school facilities should be expanded. This paper recommended, based on the findings, that governments should encourage the cooperation between the school and the community to facilitate student's learnings and to upgrade community people to higher level. Also it recommended that the school should share more community facilities and that the community should share more school facilities.

  • According to the changed '2+4'-year pharmacy school curriculum in Korea, pharmacy preceptors play a highly crucial role in educating student pharmacists through practice-based learning. Whether the new curriculum in a Korean pharmacy school will become firmly established or not depends on the competency of a preceptor. Before the preceptors with high competencies are anticipated, the effective education programs for them should be provided. However, there have been little studies regarding the competencies of pharmacy preceptors in Korea. This study was to analyze the degree of differences between importance and performance of preceptors' competencies. The self-reported questionnaire was utilized to collect data from pharmacists in the preceptor education program of a university. Total 122 pharmacists participated in the program, and 78 responded to the survey questionnaires. The average of importance for overall evaluation items was 4.32 whereas that of performance for them was 3.51 by using a 5-point Likert scale. The evaluation items with relatively marked differences between importance and performance were 'sufficient time allowance for students', 'teaching research results regarding newly approved drugs', 'clear understanding of goals and learning contents about pharmacy practice experiences', and 'plan for systemic experience educations'. Further follow-up researches on changes of the differences in importance- performance of preceptors' competencies after precepting student pharmacists should be implemented. Furthermore, the effective and appropriate methods for the preceptor education programs based on the follow-up studies should be developed to reduce the difference between importance and performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest implications for early childhood SW·AI education considering the characteristics of early childhood education through a survey on SW·AI education in kindergartens. For this study, data were collected from 194 kindergartens through convenience sampling. The data was analyzed using frequency distribution, and it was found that 44% of kindergartens are conducting SW·AI education. 22% are conducting SW·AI education in the form of regular curriculum, and 70% are conducting SW·AI education in the form of special activities after school. SW·AI education was found to be conducted mainly by external instructors (97%) in the classroom (80%). For SW·AI education, block coding-based programs developed by companies such as Naver and the Clova were used, and all of these programs used programs and teaching aids in a package format, including teaching aids and materials developed by companies. 56% answered that they are not currently conducting SW/AI education, and lack of awareness on SW·AI education and lack of human/environmental infrastructure were the main factors. In order to realize SW·AI education considering the characteristics of early childhood education based on this survey, First, SW·AI education programs should be developed to develop play-centered computational thinking skills. Second, systematic teacher education at the national level should be conducted. Finally, the establishment of a department dedicated to early childhood SW·AI consisting of early childhood education experts and SW·AI education experts and financial support at the national level should be provided.
