This study examined the relationships between multiple intelligences as cognitive factors and affective factors of learning motivation and academic self-concept. The data were collected from 276 4th grade elementary school students and analyzed by correlation, multi-variate analysis, and step-wise multiple regression. Results were that (1) multiple intelligences, learning motivation, and academic self-concept had statistically significant correlations among themselves. Multi-variate analysis showed that intra-personal intelligence explained 58.6% of the linear combination of learning motivation and academic self-concept. (2) Intra-personal intelligence explained 29% to 58% of learning motivation and its sub-factors of achievement motivation, internal locus of control, self-efficacy, and self-regulation. (3) Intra-personal intelligence, logical-mathematical intelligence, musical intelligence, and inter-personal intelligence were explanatory variables for academic self-concept and its sub-factors.
In this study, the researchers developed an inventory which can measure the affective achievement in mathematical learning especially targeted to Korean students. By using EFA and CFA, the six affective factors of mathematical learning such as learning directivity, self control, anxiety, interest, cognizing value and confidence are distinguished. Also, the content validity of this inventory was examined by the experts groups, composed of mathematics education professors, high school mathematics teachers, and measurement experts. The reliability of the instrument was high enough to trust the results. Through a large scaled sampling, the reliability and validity of this inventory were verified. In addition, this inventory was developed not by a partial aspects of a certain theory but based on the recent theories. Due to these reasons, the results of this study can be respected that it plays a leading part in understanding the affective achievement of Korean students.
In this study we aimed to find out if a mathematics lesson with Jigsaw model can help to change such negative mathematical affective characteristic to a positive one. The results of the study were as in the following. First, the mathematics lessons applied Jigsaw model can help to inspire curiosity and motivation of students. During the lessons, communication among students was vitalized. Such communication inspired learner's curiosity and learning motivation. The expert group and home group activities in the Jigsaw model made the learner's question-answering activities more instantaneous and frequent. Second, the mathematics lessons applied Jigsaw model can help students to become aware of the value of mathematical concepts and formula.

The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of instructional method using by a motion picture at cognitive and affective learning domain, and students' preferences for instructional methods in middle school career education. The nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest research design was applied to an experimental group and to a control group. A pair of 75students from four classes participated in an experiment. The results show higher learning achievements both of cognitive and affective domains in experimental group than in control group. Higher students' preferences for instructional methods were found in experimental group than in control group. It is concluded that a motion picture could give a more concrete experience and a more pleasure to students than traditional lecture. Higher learning achievements in cognitive and affective learning domain of career education and higher preferences were came out in consequence of using a motion picture.
This study has two purposes. First, it aims to suggest an appropriate approach to English writing education for Korean high school students in a cooperative learning situation. It also aims to suggest what type of learner grouping, either homogeneous or heterogeneous, is appropriate by comparing the learners' writing abilities and the changes of their affective factors after being exposed to cooperative EFL writing instruction. Two homogeneous classes were selected and instructed to write in English for 11 weeks. One was composed of homogeneous small groups based on the students' writing scores, and the other was composed of heterogeneous small groups, again based on the students' writing scores. The results showed that the improvement between the two class types was quite different across different proficiency levels. For example, although there is little difference between the homogeneous and the heterogeneous classes of low and intermediate-level learners in writing ability improvement, high-level students showed a significant difference between the classes. In addition, it was found that class participation correlated significantly to writing ability improvement. Cooperative learning was proved to be an effective writing instructional approach to encourage learners' interest and increase their self-confidence; however, the results did not show any significant differences in learners' affective domain between the homogeneous and the heterogeneous classes. Similarly, the learners' grouping preference was not affected by the grouping method.
The present study developed teaching-learning activities to improve personal intelligences and to investigate their effectiveness. Significant differences were found in both interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence. Positive effects appeared in cooperative attitudes, capacity to care for and understand others, and in reflective thinking abilities. The results suggest the importance of a balanced educational curriculum in order to enhance human affective aspects, self-esteem, cooperative classroom climate formation and the moral and character development of students. Consistent and systematic investigation is needed on multiple intelligences theory, development of teaching-learning activities, their longitudinal effects, and a fair assessment instrument.
This study aims to apply a teaching-learning model using science oriented UCC created by students themselves(4C model) in a gifted students' project learning and investigate its effects in science-related affective property by gender in order to use UCC systematically in a gifted students' project learning course. After conducting of gifted students' using UCC project learning, We surveyed gifted students' recognition about it. Nonparametric test has done with the results of before and after science-related affective property tests of them. As results, gifted students took an active part in 'using UCC project learning'. Girls are more active and interested than boys whereas more boys felt a difficulty in creating UCC than girls. Girls' creativity was improved and anxiety about science was decreased whereas the results of boys were not statistically significant. Therefore, 'using UCC project learning' is more effective than tha of boys to girls.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the online extracurricular program operated by the university. The program contents applied in the study included learning strategies such as time management, goal setting, note taking, and memorization methods. The program used in the study was operated in an online environment, and the content was developed between 27 and 29 minutes. The developed contents can be taken using the learning management system. The variables selected to analyze the effects of this program were learning strategies and learning flow, and satisfaction was also included to examine the responses of program participants. The results of the study are as follows. First, learning strategies and learning flow showed statistically significant differences. This result is because the content was composed of meaningful sub-topics by selecting the elements necessary for learning activities. Second, as a result of program satisfaction analysis, it was confirmed that the average for all questions was high. Among them, the average of the item that the theme and contents of the program were useful was the highest. Third, open responses were analyzed by classifying them into cognitive and affective domains. In the cognitive domain, meanings such as knowledge, understanding, and application were presented as keywords, and in the affective domain, a number of keywords for motivation and attitude change were presented. This study is significant in that it provided practical programs necessary for university freshmen and analyzed their effects.
As organization's success depends on how much employees are active in recognizing new knowledge and transform into organization's value, this study is to examine the influence of employees' self-directed learning capacity on organizational absorptive capacity, organizational commitment and job involvement. The study has shown that managerial level employees have high level of self-directed learning capacity, and employees who have such high level capacity also shown to have high level of absorptive capacity and organizational affective commitment and job involvement. There were static correlations between all the variables, and absorptive capacity has a complete meditated effect on each variables. Hence, in order to enhance absorptive capacity, organizations should put their effort to develop employees' self-directed learning capacity, which will not only improve individual competency but also lead to organization's success in this competitive global market.

As software transforms the structure of industry, it becomes a key measure in determining market competitiveness. Therefore, various educational efforts have been attempted in Korea to cultivate software professionals to secure software competitiveness. While previous studies had focused mainly on the cognitive effectiveness of software education, the authors tried to focus on affective perspectives. The authors, therefore, aimed to analyze the predictive power of the recognition of software importance and learning flow on affective outcomes, such as efficacy of computational thinking skills, and attitude toward, and satisfaction with, software education. The data were collected from 103 sixth grade students who participated in a software education. Results show that software importance and learning flow had significant predictive power on affective outcomes; Learning flow mediated the relationship between software importance and affective outcomes. This study provides practical implications for improving affective outcomes in the design and implementation of software education.
