The modern philosophy of historic conservation focuses on the permanence of the material aspects of monuments as historic evidence of the artistic achievement of the past. However, so strongly are European attitudes to architecture and its conservation embedded in modern conservation, that it has skewed all conservation thinking towards the concept of the European-type monument which emphasizes visual beauty through its material substance. Thus, some basic ideas of modern conservation seem ill-suited to East Asian architecture which is conceived in a different spirit from its European counterpart. The purposes of the paper are to discuss the need for approaches which are different from the modern Western view of conservation for East Asian architectural heritage, and to make suggestions for developing conservation principles more suited to the unique values and aesthetic sense of East Asian culture and architecture. Conservation principles in the East Asian societies are determined in relation to the spiritual and naturalistic sensibilities of East Asian culture and architecture.

Beauty Art typically has been viewed as the best way to represent women's beauty. Specifically, nail art is a mean for the new generation to unveil their individuality. Nail-shop customers usually feel refreshed, and that emotional change gives them aesthetic and emotional satisfaction. The popularization of nail art and the growth of nail-art market arises the people's concern to the necessity of marketing strategy as part of the beauty industry, as well as the importance of service quality and customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to examine women's changing view of nail care and relevant consumption behavior. Also to analyze the voice of customers about the quality of services provided by nail shops, and to have the right understanding of the industry and as well as to determine some of the right directions for marketing.

In February 1947, Christian Dior startled the world with his spring collection. He transformed the unflattering square shouldered outline of women's wartime fashion overnight. It was not only fashion that made a pivotal point for opulence and elegance, The style of architecture, furniture, glass, and silverware also made a radical change. The new style emerged after war called " organic modernism'. This study is to define the visual characteristics of fashion, architecture, furniture and craft after World War II and examine the social factors and aesthetics that generated a new style. The common asthetic characteristics are freedom, abstraction of symbolic from, asymmetry, and exaggeration of form. The social factors, values and aesthetics are economic reconstruction and renaissance of design , technical development and new materials, fredom and optimistic view after the holocaust of war, and organic aesthetics and humanism.

Traffic noise is a significant national problem in many communities. Construction of noise barriers has been the most often used mechanism to mitigate vehicle noise for residents next to high density roadways. The most common materials for constructing noise barriers are metal. The character of the wall can be significantly modified by the type of surface treatment used on the wall body. Noise barrier walls can be softened through the use of plants. Greening Noise Barrier helps blend the roadway into the surrounding landscape and provides an interesting and aesthetic view of the road.

The purpose of this study is to explain innovative changes of men's fashion in 'a cyber society', which has come with the advent of internet revolution and where we have witnessed social changes in view of sex, race and class. As for the research methodology, literary research was under taken to study characteristics of cyber society. And demonstrative studies on men's fashion were undertaken through the analysis of photos. 'Cyber space' is defined as 'a communication network of informations and opinions' or 'pseudo world created by computer technology'. Our current world, which has continuous interaction with cyber space, can be understand as cyber society. In a cyber society, transcendental structure is not accepted, feminine characteristics appear more frequently, and western-biased territorial features lose its ground. These characteristics are rooted in ideological characteristics of cyber society, such as opposition and composition. Considering the characteristics of cyber society, the aesthetic images of men's fashion in cyber society can be explained with de-authoritarianism, 　metrosexualism and multi-culturalism.

A school uniform leads students to good behavior and have them enjoy desirable school life. We analyse the students' view through questionnaire. We asked 544 students questions about the degree of satisfaction on color, design and style of their uniforms. By analyzing the result of the questionnaire, we found the style of the uniform that students preferred. In this study, we suggest some useful information which is necessary to develop new uniform based on utility and creative aesthetic sense. The questionnaire using this research grounded on the questionnaire of the previous study and the subject selected the random samples out of girls' high school student in Deagu·Kyungbuk Area. The result analysis was peformed by SPSS, one of the statistical analysis method.

Recently, construction of soil-reinforced segmental retaining walls which used geosynthetics are being increased day by day due to its construction efficiency, economic efficiency, and its aesthetic view. The conventional reinforced earth retaining wall has the connector system to fix the reinforcement and block However, this system may cause the crack of block and the rupture of reinforcement due to the stress concentration near the face of reinforced earth retaining wall In this study, the new connector system, which is able to allow the settlement of reinforcement, was applied to analyze the effect of connector system of reinforced earth retaining wall The connection strength tests and centrifugal tests for both the conventional reinforced earth retaining wall and the settlement reinforced earth retaining wall were performed to compare the results

Common residential environment is synthetic forms promote with organic organization of varied cultures and images. Users perceive and classify about these environments of feeling and atmosphere of each elements through their experiences and memories, not fixed point of view. In Korea, park designing of common residential room is in operation monotonously attach importance to economical efficiency without aesthetic structures, varied tries of materials, multiplicity, congruity of surrounding, and user-oriented plan. Recently, in policy of park designing has elements that obstruct to characteristic of environment because of applied to wrong guidelines which are end in investigation to model of an advanced countries'. In conclusion, this investigation shows improve on quality of park planning with the pivot of the matter is for users of common residential room. and park planning needs to multidimensional achieve.

Earthquake damage civil engineering structures every year in the world and bridges are no exception. Bridge structures have proven to be vulnerable to earthquake, sustaining damage to substructure and foundation and being totally destroys as superstructures collapse from their supporting elements. The poor seismic performance of bridge structures is surprising in view of the substantial advance made in design and construction for vertical load. Recently, bridge spans have been pushed further than before, alignment has become increasingly complex and aesthetic requirement have been become more demanding. To reduce the seismic force and to improve the safety of the advanced bridges, the bridge bearings which are the substructures and foundations and their connections to the superstructure become more important and critical elements. Therefore, the functions about seismic devices to be using as bridge bearing are discussed.
