간호대학생을 위한 질 향상과 안전 역량강화 교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Competency Based Quality Improvement and Safety Education Program for Undergraduate Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a competency based safety and quality improving education program for undergraduate nursing students. Methods: A quasi-experimental study of a non-equivalent control group pre and post test design was used. The participants were sixty-eight undergraduate nursing students recruited from the two universities in G and M cities. They were assigned to either a treatment group (n=35) or a comparison group (n=33). A five-day educational program developed based on the ADDIE Instructional Design Model was offered to the treatment group whereas the comparison group did not receive any instruction. Data were collected using self-report structured questionnaires. The data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 with the $x^2$ test, and independent t-test. Results: The students in the treatment group reported significant positive changes for patient safety knowledge, skill and perception of quality and safety competencies. Conclusion: Findings from this study supports that competency based quality improving and safety education program is a useful intervention strategy to promote student's knowledge, skill and perception of quality and safety competencies.

대학도서관 독서치료 주제목록 개발을 위한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study of Subject Catalogue Related to Bibliotherapy in the University Library)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들이 책을 통해 자신의 문제를 발견하고 스스로 치유하여 건강한 자아를 실현해 갈 수 있는 자기 성장적 정보제공을 목적으로 '발달적 독서치료 주제목록'을 제시하였다. 독서치료의 유형과 청년발달의 이론을 고찰하고, 대학생 상담 조사와 타대학 독서치료 주제목록 제공 사례 분석 결과를 토대로 대주제를 '육체/정신발달', '사회/정서발달', '인지발달', '진로발달'의 4개 영역을 설정하여, 중주제와 소주제를 도출하였다. 대학 신입생 때부터 발달적 독서치료를 통하여 자기 이해를 바탕으로 진로목표를 설정하고 자기 주도적 삶을 전개할 수 있다면 대학교육의 효과를 더욱 높일 수 있을 것이다.

시판되는 한국전통음식의 이용현황 및 선호도의 세대간 차이 (The Difference between Generations in Utilization and Preference for the Commercial Korean Traditional Foods)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference between generations in utilization and preference of the commercial Korean traditional foods. Results showed that middle school student tried the commercial Korean traditional foods more frequently than adult. While students tried soup, broth and one-bowl dish most frequently and favored grilled and pan fried foods, adults tried most frequently and liked best Kimchi, salt-fermented fish and beverages. The reason why the commercial Korean traditional foods were favored was the taste by student and time-saving by adult. As for the reasons why they disliked the commercial Korean traditional foods, both groups answered that they were not beneficial for health. To increase the consumption of the commercial Korean traditional foods students required then to be improved into better taste and adults into better sanitariness. There was difference between two generations in utilization and preference for some commercial Korean traditional foods surveyed.

간호학생의 임상적 판단 경험에 관한 내용분석 (Content Analysis of Experience of Nursing Students in Clinical Judgment during Nursing Practicum)

  • Purpose: To describe the lived experience of nursing students when faced with clinical judgment in a nursing practicum at the hospital. Methods: A descriptive research design was utilized. Participants were 79 students in the clinical practicum. Participant consent was obtained for ethical protection. Data were collected from August to December 2007 using a semi-structured questionnaire. Content analysis was utilized for data analysis. Results: Two categories and 5 themes were extracted from the data for 'difficult' and 'easy' clinical judgments. For the student category, the two themes were 'knowledge' and 'skill', while the three themes for the clinical education environment category were, 'judgment of clinical symptoms and signs', 'differences between theory and practice' and 'human relationships'. For coping, 2 categories and 5 themes were extracted for the difficult clinical judgment situation, while one category and one theme were found for the easy clinical judgment situation. Conclusion: To develop students' clinical judgment, there is need to develop the method of clinical skills using simulation in clinical teaching. For future research, a study on factors affecting clinical judgment of nursing students in hospitals is needed.

하이브리드모델 활용 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호학생의 간호수행능력과 자신감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Simulation Training With Hybrid Model for Nursing Students on Nursing Performance Ability and Self Confidence)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effectiveness of simulation training with a hybrid model of student nurses' performance ability and reported self confidence. Methods: A nonequivalent control group with pre-posttest was designed. Data collection was done during the first semester in 2012 at a college of nursing in Seoul. Nursing performance ability and reported self confidence related to taking care of patients with urinary problems were evaluated. The treatment group (n=96) received simulation training of a catheterization procedure with a hybrid model involving standardized patients and a mannequin. Nursing students in the comparison group (n=84) did not receive the simulation training but would receive it prior to their next clinical practicum's. Results: The treatment group showed a significantly higher performance ability and reported self confidence than that of the comparison group. The perceived helpfulness and contentment of the simulation training in experimental group was high. Conclusion: The findings of this study demonstrated that simulation with a hybrid model was effective in teaching skills prior to the clinical experience which suggests that skill development is not dependent on the actual clinical situation. Nurse educators should consider simulation training as a tool beyond that of clinical practicum.

군인들에서 성인 주의력 결핍 과잉 행동 장애 증상이 스트레스와 우울증에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Symptoms of Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder on Stress and Depressive Symptoms in Soldiers)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate whether and how the symptoms of adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affect the stress and depressive symptoms in Korean soldiers. Methods : Data were collected on 131 subjects through self-report using the Korean Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Scale (K-AADHDS), Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), Korean Wender Utah Rating Scale (K-WURS), and the Brief Encounter Psychosocial Instrument (BEPSI-K). Student t-tests, Pearson Correlation, Logistic regression, and Path analysis were performed. Results : The scores related to adult ADHD symptoms on the K-AADHDS and K-WURS were correlated with stress scores on the BEPSI-K (r=0.529, p<0.001 and r=0.484, p<0.001) and with depressive symptoms on the CES-D (r=0.686, p<0.001 and r=0.628, p<0.001). Scores related to adult ADHD on the K-AADHDS were the most significant risk factors for stress (O.R=1.198, 95% CI=1.104-1.299), and depressive symptoms (O.R=1.306, p95% CI=1.112-1.534). Path analysis on depressive symptoms showed that adult ADHD symptoms affected stress and depressive symptoms. Conclusion : The results suggest that it may be important to consider the evaluation and treatment of adult ADHD in soldiers. Prospective studies with larger numbers of subjects are warranted to further explore the relevance of the present results.

아동기 아버지에 대한 애착, 성인기 자아존중감이 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Child-Father Attachment and Self-Esteem in Adulthood on Adult Students' School Adjustment)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of attachment across an individual's lifespan. The present study investigated how father attachment in childhood influences adult student's school adjustment and explored the mediating effect of self-esteem between those two variables. Five hundred and twenty-nine adult students who were enrolled in S Cyber University were participants in this study. Subjects' ages ranged from 20-59. They were issued with a questionnaire addressing their present self-esteem level, attachment toward their father in childhood, and school adjustment. The results from SEM analysis indicated that adult students' self-esteem completely mediated between their attachment to their father in childhood and their school adjustment in adulthood. This result shows that a secure attachment to a father in childhood is related to child's own internal working model, and that positive self-esteem is related to social interactions including school adjustment.

목표지향적 루브릭을 활용한 성인간호학 교육이 간호학생의 학업성취도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects on Goal-directed Rubrics Nursing Student's Academic Achievement in Adult Nursing Education)

  • 본 연구는 성인간호학 교육을 위한 목표지향적 루브릭을 개발하고, 개발된 루브릭이 간호학생의 학업성취도에 미치는 효과를 규명하기 위해 시도되었다. 본 연구의 대상자는 일 대학의 간호대학생 154명이 참여하였다. 학업성취도 측정을 위해 지필고사, 간호과정, 팀역량 평가점수가 활용되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0 Program을 이용하여 분석한 결과, 대조군 보다 실험군의 지필고사 평가점수(t=5.80, p<.001), 간호과정 평가점수(t=3.37, p=.001), 팀역량 평가점수(t=4.58, p<.001) 모두 유의하게 높았다. 간호교육의 핵심영역인 성인간호학 교육에서 학습성과 향상을 위한 전략으로 루브릭 활용의 중요성이 증가됨에 따라 본 연구의 결과는 의미가 있다. 이에 성인간호학 전반에 걸쳐 타당도와 신뢰도가 높은 루브릭이 다양하게 개발되고 그 효과를 검정하는 연구가 필요하다.

자녀의 부모화(parentification)에 관한 국내연구동향 분석 (Research trends of parentification in Korea(from 2003 to 2015))

  • Objectives: The purpose of the present study is to analysis the trends of and issues in research about parentification in Korea up to date, and to propose directions for further studies. Methods: For this purpose, eighty one theses and articles about parentification, published from 2003 to 2015 were categorized according to research subjects, research objects, research methods, statistical analysis methods, and related variables with the parentification. Results: Consequently, first, the number of articles published has been gradually increased. Second, the main research subjects were the characteristics and trait of parentification, an interpersonal relationship and family. Third, the common research objects were undergraduate student/graduate student and youth(middle/high school students). Fourth, the quantitative research methods have been used mainly. FRS-A(Filial Responsibility Scale-Adult) and FRS-Y(Filial Responsibility Scale-Youth) have been used most. A high frequency related variables with parentification were the affectiveness-related variables, in particularly, the shame proneness is the highest correlation variables. Conclusions: Based on the findings in this study, it is suggested that the research objects should be more varied and the Korean parentification measurements need to be developed in the near future.

심리사회적 중재가 간호대학생의 스트레스 지각, 대처방법, 스트레스 반응에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Psychosocial Stress Management on Stress and Coping in Student Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose was to examine the effectiveness of a psychosocial stress management program on stress and coping in student nurses. Method: A nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design was used. A convenience sample of 24 students from the Department of Nursing, Wonju College of Medicine, Yonsei University were assigned to experimental (n=12) and control groups(n=12). Stress was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (10 points) and blood cortisol. Coping was measured using a scale modified by So (1995) based on the Ways of Coping Checklist developed by Folkman and Lazarus (1985). Depression was measured using the CES-D by Radloff (1977) and state anxiety, using the State Anxiety Inventory by Spielberger (1976). The psychosocial stress management program included education, relaxation (Korean Dan Jeon-typed Breathing and music), and social support. Result: Results showed for the two groups, 1) a significant difference in stress scores (U= 19.50, p=0.002), 2) no difference in cortisol levels (8am, 4pm), 3) a significant difference in problem-focused coping (U=25.50, =0.007), 4) no difference in emotion-focused coping, and 5) no difference in state anxiety and depression. Conclusion: By utilizing the program, students were able to learn how to control their stress and improve their coping. Therefore with a partial modification, psychosocial stress management can be useful for continual management of stress in student nurses.
