  • With the application enlargement of RFID technology in the field of logistics, it is needed to analyze the relation adoption factors of RFID with logistics performance. That is, this study aims at analyzing how RFID adoption would give an effect to logistics performance in logistics company, stating its implications. More specifically, this study tests empirical relation of CEO's support, technical competence, trading partner, compatibility, relative advantage and logistics performance of applying RFID in logistics company. Based on previous studies which are related to RFID in the field of SCM, logistics, distribution and manufacturing, this study established research model and hypothesis, and surveyed employees of logistics company. To analyze the data, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model were applied. The results are follows. Applying RFID in logistics, CEO's support and trading partner gives significantly positive effect to logistics performance. But compatibility and relative advantage do not give meaningful effect to logistics performance. Additionally, though technical competence does not have statistical significance to logistics performance, it is necessary to consider it can have meaningful influence on logistics performance substantially.

  • In this paper, I propose that what factors affect logistics companies' adoption of blockchain technology and to analyze the effects of blockchain technology on logistics performance. The variables influencing the adoption of blockchain technology were presented based on the TOE frame. Expected profit, organizational readiness, technology compatibility, and competitive pressure were suggested as factors to adopt blockchain technology. Also, as a blockchain technology, smart contracts and information transparency were presented. Logistics performance suggested agility and alignment. A survey was conducted with Korean logistics companies. Looking at the results of analyzing the collected data, it was found that expected profit and technology compatibility have a positive effect on this blockchain technology (smart contract, information transparency). Organizational readiness was found to have a positive effect on information transparency. Blockchain technology was found to have a positive effect on logistics performance.

  • Purpose: This study focuses on lean implementation evaluation in Third Party Logistics (TPL) industry by using the lean principles measurement from Toyota Ways which consist of 14 principles. The core goal of this study is to appraise the lean implementation level in Third Party Logistics in East Java of Indonesia in order to achieve efficient logistics, distribution and transportation activities. Research design, data and methodology: This study uses a sample of 80 respondent who are Third Party Logistics managers in East Java Province, Indonesia. Data collection uses a questionnaire and standard statistical test was performed in order to analyze questionnaire. Results: The implementation level of lean management in Third Party Logistics shows that application of principle 3 (utilizing pull systems) has a higher score than the other principles. This situation shows that management give the best performance in plan process. They prioritize customer requirement in every process designed. However, the principle 8 (using reliable technology) show the weakness performance. Conclusions: Overall, this study shows the Third Party Logistics in East Java Province of Indonesia have applied the lean principle quite well, although the scores are only slightly above the average. This condition provides a strong basis for further lean implementation, especially for improving logistics, distribution and transportation activities in Third Party Logistics Business.

  • Characteristics of the motivation and performance of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) adoption in university organization are explored through case studies in this study. Generally, the modules for production, sales, and logistics management in a manufacturing company are substituted with new modules for student support, lecture operations, and research management in ERP for university organization. The motivation of ERP adoption is closely related to the purpose of improvement of business process operations and information system control rather than the environmental factors such as inter-organizational competition or increase of market uncertainty, differentially from enterprises cases. In addition, the financial performance such as cost reduction, labor substitution, and increase of productivity is relatively lower evaluated than the performance on organizational aspects or information system control.
