  • This study was designed to evaluate the Temporomandibular Disorders(TMD) with Tension-Type Headache(TTH) by age. Patients with TMD and/or TTH visited the Department of Oral Medicine, Kyung Hee University Dental Hospital were recruited to this study. Experimental group(n=170) is composed of TMD with TTH and control group(n=222) is composed of TMD without TTH. Evaluation list was pain quality, pain intensity, pain laterality, pain increase by routine physical activity and then it was analyzed statistically. The results were as follows ; 1. In the control group, pain quality was not significantly different by age. But, in the experimental group, pain quality was significantly different by age(p=0.042). 2. In the control group, pain intensity was significantly different by age(p=0.000). And, in the experimental group, pain intensity was significantly different by age(p=0.004). 3. In the control group, pain laterality was not significantly different by age. And, in the experimental group, pain laterality was not significantly different by age. 4. In the control group, pain increase by routine physical activity was not significantly different by age. And, in the experimental group, pain increase by routine physical activity was not significantly different by age. Therefore, it is considered that not temporomandibular disorder patients without tension-type headache but temporomandibular disorder patients with tension-type headache was influenced by age in the pain quality.

  • The personality in Marx's philosophy can be defined as an 'activity on the basis of social relations'. This concept suggests two significant implications to the difference of sexual identity between the sexes. First, according to Marx's philosophy the personality is partially influenced by the ideology. Freud's theory of Oedipus is founded on the patriarchal culture including the ideology. Freud's concept of personality ignores that aspect. That's why Freud's theory of Oedipus complex can be criticized. This is because of his ignorance of the affecting power of male chauvinism in patriarchal society. Second, more importantly and definitely, the difference of activity, especially labor, that is, male's social labor and female's private labor, has influenced the difference of the personality of both sexes.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate physical activity level, sleep quality, attention control, and self-regulated learning along to smartphone addiction level among college students. The data were obtained from 269 college students by structured questionnaire, analyzed using SPSS 18.0. The results showed that significant differences with smartphone addictoin level and, gender, grade level, daily using time, physical activity level, sleep quality and attention control. Smartphone addictoin level have correlations with physical activity level, sleep quality, attention control, and self-regulated learning. To prevent the falling off of physical strength and poor school performance, it is needed a strategies for control of smartphone addiction.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of vestibular stimulation activity on visual perception. Methods : A total of 58 healthy adults in chungnam was participated in this study. I divided into the total 3 groups and studied. Group A was no vestibular stimulation, they sat on general chair and performed the visual perception task. Group B and C sat on general chair and ball chair respectively, after vestibular stimulation activity and they performed visual perception task. I measured the visual perception task with the time. Results : There was a significant difference between Group A and B and C. There was no significant difference between group B and C. Conclusion : The result shows that the vestibular stimulation activity is effective for an improvement in visual perception.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of lumbar muscle activity (LMA) and oxygen consumption (OC) according to bike saddle height in healthy young men. Twenty-two subjects without musculoskeletal disorders participated in this study. Subjects performed 3 min cycling at 3 different saddle heights with 10 minutes of resting time respectively. Surface EMG was used to assess muscle activity in LMA, and OC was assessed by potable gas analyzer. In the result, there was a statistically significant difference in internal oblique abdominis activity (p<0.05), and the OC was significantly higher in high saddle height than the optimal and the low position of the saddle (p<0.05). This study suggest that changes in saddle height affected internal oblique abdominis activity and OC in subjects, however, saddle height does not have much effect on lumbar stabilizer muscle.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of monitoring and feedback on walking activity using wearable devices on changes in body composition and metabolic syndrome factors in middle-aged woman. The subjects use a mobile interlocking wearable device for 6 month, feedback is provided through mobile app automatically transmitted step counter and walking activity. As a results, significantly difference shows on body weight, skeletal muscle mass, and body fat in statistically(p<.001). In changes of metabolic syndrome factor, systolic(p<.05), fasting flucose(p<.01), abdominal circumference(p<.001), TC(p<.001), and LDL-C(p<.05) are significantly difference. In conclusion, wearable devices that can be conveniently applied is an effective tool to increase walking activity and prevent metabolic syndrome of people with a sedentary lifestyle.

  • The present study aimed to find out how the trunk muscles, which are mainly used in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, affect chest compression through plank exercise. Study subjects participated in a 12-week program, and subjects performed only chest compressions for 8 minutes. Regarding their change in a muscle mass by plank exercise, there was a statistically significant difference in the change from 4th to 8th week after the program(p<.01). The muscle activity change had a statistically significant difference from 3rd to 10th week(p<.01). The chest compression depth had a statistically significant difference from 4th to 8th week(p<.01). In addition, insufficient chest relaxation height after compression had a statistically significant difference from 4th to 10th week(p<.01). The chest compression maintenance time had a statistically significant difference from 2nd to 12th week(p<.01). The participants' muscle mass and muscle activity increased more after their participation in plank exercise program than before. All chest compression factors except for chest compression rate brought about positive results.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of drying and extraction methods on antioxidant activity and total phenol content of Gnaphalium affine D. DON (GA). Hot-air, shade-drying, and freeze-drying were used for drying, after which magnetic stirring and ultrasonification were applied. Extracting solvents were water, 80% ethanol, and 80% methanol. Total phenol content was highest in 80% ethanol extract of freeze-dried and stirred GA. Total flavonoid content was highest in 80% methanol extract of freeze-dried and stirred GA. 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity was higher in 80% methanol and 80% ethanol extracts than in water extract. 2,2-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical scavenging activity was highest in 80% ethanol extract of shade-dried and ultrasonicated GA. Reducing power was generally higher in 80% methanol extract than in 80% ethanol and water extracts of GA. Total phenol and total flavonoid contents were highly correlated with DPPH radical scavenging activity and reducing power, respectively. This result implies that the antioxidant activity of GA can be attributed to phenol compounds such as flavonoids. Conclusively, phenol compounds such as flavonoids are responsible for the antioxidant activity of GA, and there was no significant effect of drying and stirring conditions on antioxidant activity of 80% ethanol. Meanwhile, DPPH radical scavenging activity of water extract and reducing power of 80% methanol extract were higher in hot-air and shade-dried GAs than in freeze-dried GA.
