The purpose of this study is to renovate a closed school to a artist studio complex applying sustainable principles and methods. Through the case study, the principle and methods of sustainable renovation is investigated and following strategies are extracted as a frame of renovation. First, atrium space with thermal mass using existing wall is proposed as a public gathering space. Second, light shelves for effective lighting and shading device for protecting and allowing sun light is proposed to renovate existing classroom. Third, double skin system is proposed with reflection pool to activate heating and ventilation for passive solar as well as passive cooling. Finally, simulation programs such as energy-10 and Form-Z is used to confirm the validity of the sustainable design.

The curriculum of science should be made of the education based on the acquirement instead of the knowledge. However, the present educational environment has many problems such as lack of laboratory and experimental facilities, and time limitations. One of the suggested methods to overcome the barriers in regular curriculum is the efficient operation of science club activities. Since the club activities are not restricted on time and space, teachers can apply various methods and programs. In this paper, we investigate the present operational status of science club activities in secondary school and some suggested improvement schemes of them It is shown that teacher training, reference development, time allocation, educational environment, facility completion and various program developments should be preceded, in order to activate science club activities.

The present study revealed that Lrp, a leucine-responsive regulatory protein, is involved in the regulation of cadBA transcription through activation of $P_{cadBA}$. The influence of Lrp on $P_{cadBA}$ was mediated by CadC, and thereby, CadC was able to compensate for the lack of Lrp in the activation of $P_{cadBA}$. Western blot analyses and EMSA demonstrated that the cellular level of CadC was not significantly affected by Lrp, and that Lrp exerted its effect by directly binding to $P_{cadBA}$. These combined results suggested that CadC and Lrp function cooperatively to activate the $P_{cadBA}$ rather than sequentially in a regulatory cascade.

HACCP system application has been expanded to livestock products chain from farm to table in Korea. However, it requires flexible application with modified simple model in order to activate its application in small businesses such as butcher shop. We calculated non-compliance rates to identify weak points of prerequisite requirements and choosed main contents to be controlled as a simplified prerequisite program in butcher shops. The data used for the analysis of non-compliance rates were based on the HACCP accreditation evaluation inspection reports conducted by Korea Livestock Products HACCP Accreditation Service. Among the existing 51 evaluation items, we suggested 28 items of prerequisite requirements for the butcher shops.

The purpose of this study was to identify needs of mothers in order to lay a foundation for improving the content of parent education in early childhood educational institutions. The mothers of 164 kindergarten children in Pusan participated in this study by a questionnaire developed by the researchers. Conclusions were that the felt needs of mothers identified in this study should be included in parent education programs along with knowledge, skills and attitudes selected by professionals. Selection of content should be based on the fact that most mothers have similar concerns and interest in raising their children, regardless of background. However, mother's educational level needs to be considered. Further study needs to be done on educational methods, and tentative models of parent education need to be designed in order to activate effective parent education.

Objectives: This paper aims to suggest some ways we could improve the efficiency and equity in health promotion programs in the public sector. Methods: Reports published by the Minister of Health and Welfare and web-site information were reviewed. And, the empirical results and theoretical considerations provided in this study could be used in making future direction for health promotion programs in the public sector. Results and conclusion: The public sector should play a leading role in health promotion programs. The role of public sector in health promotion program is to establish the health promotion plan based on the health survey, to develop the scientific programs, to provide the free health services, and to maintain a cooperative relationship with the private sector. In order to activate the health promotion programs in the public sector, establishing the role of the public sector, changing the operation of health promotion fund, block grants for health promotion, local health promotion fund, and integration of health statistics were suggested.

The aim of this study is to reconstruct neighborhood public space appropriating for the contemporary society. The rapid development of technology has brought a number of changes to society. People's way of thinking has changed and the requirements about space has become more complex. At the urban neighborhood park, although multiple groups of citizens showed various activities, the program and structure of urban park are too fixed to support their activities. Therefore, strategy and flexible devices are needed to activate and stimulate the multi-user's complex activities. Through the case of Hong-Ik children's park, I will analyze the result of investigation about the pattern of space-user and suggest neighborhood public facilities proper to contemporary situation.

This article describes the design of a hydraulic system for a power split type continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT considered here, is composed of planetary gears, clutches, and a torque converter which is mainly used for the realization of CVT function. Similar to automatic transmissions, the hydraulic system of CVT is designed for supplying hydraulic flows and pressures to each component of CVT, in order to activate the clutch engagements and torque converter operation, and to cool the drivetrain. By using the mathematical models of drivetrain, a simulation program was developed to investigate the power performance of CVT equipped vehicle and the operating conditions of each component of CVT. And the design parameters of the hydraulic system and clutches were calculated using the operating conditions and power requirements which obtained from the simulation results. Finally the hydraulic circuit design of prototyped valve body is presented based on the numerical results of this analysis.

This study conducted the questionnaire on present condition of certification, background, purpose, effect and promotion of an occupational health & safety management system which introduced in domestic from 1999'. The questionnaire was conducted with 136 companies which replied in questionnaire distributed to 193 companies which received the certification. Also, recognition improvement of managers and participation of workers are demanded, the support to subcontract companies is demanded because the disaster prevention effect of the companies which possess the support program on subcontract companies is good, and reduction in the insurance rate to companies which received certification is demanded to activate an occupational health & safety management system.

Objectives : This study aimed to investigate factors affecting multicultural acceptability of adolescents at individual and environmental levels. Methods : Participants were 2,032 first-year high school students who participated in the 4th-year Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey in 2013. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multilevel analysis. Results : Individual factors affecting multicultural acceptability of adolescents were health status, ego-resilience, and experience of visiting foreign countries. Learning activity, school regulation, relationship with teachers, and community spirit were significant factors at environmental level. Conclusions : Findings suggest that it is necessary to consider health status, improve positive resilience, activate a multicultural experience program, establish friendly relations with teachers, adhere to social norms, and strengthen community spirit for multicultural acceptability.
