The purpose of this study is to find the programming capability for the students majoring in H/W. For implementing this purpose, first, the academic achievements on the C language and C++ language are measured for the graduates-to-be majoring in H/W and S/W. Second, the H/W and S/W curriculum are compared and analyzed to derive the relevant factors to give influence on the academic achievement of the programming. Third, to find the influence of mathematic competence on the academic achievement of the programming, the relevance is analyzed in terms of the regression analyses between mathematics curriculum and programing curriculum. This paper presents the effective teaching method for the improvement of the programming academic achievement in the H/W curriculum.

This paper aimed to understand current trends in online lectures for Korean SAT based on students' academic performances through a qualitative interview approach. In results, the highest academic performance group showed a good deal of interest and usage in online lectures. This group participants preferred private online lectures to public ones. However, the lowest academic group liked to use public online lectures. The middle academic groups who lived in an expensive area spent a lot of money for tutoring or attending private institutes rather than online lectures. Suggestions are: self-regulated learning is needed, public onilne lectures should have improved contents, and lastly, these online lectures are required to be connected with regular school curriculum.

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to briefly review the contemporary global environment to suggest and develop appropriate strategies for KODISA and its journals. Research design, data, and methodology - This is an analytical case study that examines KODISA and its journals and the contemporary environment to demonstrate the importance of developing the future goals. Results - The analysis indicates that KODISA and its journals must decide whether to follow same footsteps of many reputable and big academic associations and journals or to start focusing more on the welfare of the public as an academic institution. Researches and scholarly works should be shared with everyone, and practicality and relevancy of researches should be valued and applied for the general welfare. Conclusions - Based on the progress and current success of KODISA and its journals, their goals should not be limited to just becoming a world renown academic association or journals. Promoting the welfare of the public through researches and scholarly activities should be their ultimate goal as an academic institution and journals. Attracting more practitioners and producing more researches that are practical and applicable to the public would be the first step while maintaining the quality and rigor of their academic and scholarly activities, which include publication practices.

The purpose of this paper was to identify the relationship among the MBTI personality types, self-efficacy, major satisfaction and freshmen's academic achievements in airline service department. To this end, a survey was conducted in 113 university freshmen of airline service department from June 18 to 29, 2018. And the data were collected their MBTI results and GPA scores. MBTI results used to analyze student's personality type. The collected data were analyzed using 'SPSS Statistics 21.0'. Analysis methods such as frequency analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were used. The findings of this study are as follows. The type of personality in the airline service department affects the self - efficacy such as self - control efficacy, confidence, preference of the task difficulty, and also affects the major satisfaction and the academic achievement. The self - efficacy affects the major satisfaction and the academic achievement, and also the major satisfaction can affect academic achievement. Therefore, by developing an effective teaching strategies that fits students' personality type characteristics, and by inducing motivation to learn, raising self-efficacy naturally will lead to higher major satisfaction and academic achievements.

Digital technology has become a new economic and social force, reshaping traditional business models, strategies, structures, and processes. This is a challenge for human capital to develop continuously in this dynamic era; one of the solutions is digital entrepreneurship. Digital entrepreneurship focuses on creating new ventures and transforming existing businesses by developing novel digital technologies or novel usage. Further, digital technology has also enabled the growth of the sharing economy, linking owners and users, and disrupting the previous dualism of businesses and customers. This paper provides a novel contribution regarding the emerging concept of Digital Entrepreneurship. Based on a qualitative literature review and interview with university staff, lecturers, and students in four large public and private universities in West Java and DIY Province, an interpretative framework for Digital Entrepreneurship has been proposed, which comprises of the following components: motivation (the rationale for the adoption of digital technology for academic entrepreneurship), stakeholders (the stakeholders involved through digital technology to achieve the academic entrepreneurship goal), process (the processes of academic entrepreneurship supported by digital technologies), and business form (the emerging forms of digital academic entrepreneurship). This research also shows several alternative government policies to improve digital entrepreneurship in the academic environment.

The main goal of higher education institutions is to present a high level of quality education to its students. This study uses data mining techniques to extract educational data from cumulative databases and used them to make the right decisions. This paper also aims to find the factors affecting students' academic performance in Majmaah University, KSA, during 2010 - 2017 period. The study utilized a sample of 6,158 students enrolled from two colleges, males and females. The results showed a high percentage of stumbling and dismissed between graduate and regular students where more than 62.5% failed to follow the plan. Only 2% of students scored distinction during their study of all graduated since their grade point average, secondary level, was statistically significant, where p<0.05. Dismissed percentage was higher among males. These results promoted some recommendations in which decision-makers could take them in considerations for better improvement of academic achievements: including of specialized programs to follow-up in regards to stumbling and failure. Utilization of different communication tools are needed to activate academic advisory for dismiss and dropout evaluation.

The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of undergraduate citation behavior and to measure the contribution which an academic library makes in the academic writing of students. Citations in 80 student papers submitted in the academic paper competition was analyzed for types of items cited and the number of items in the library collection, etc. The findings indicate: 1) the level of undergraduates' citation knowledge is very low, 2) undergraduates prefer web resources (44.9%) to such academic resources as books, journal articles, theses or dissertation, and 3) undergraduates find academic resources in their academic library. Upon these findings, this study suggests that academic library staff should intervene to enhance undergraduate academic writing skills and to develope of educational material, including how to search for and cite reliable resources.

This paper compares efficiency results and performance targets for academic departments in a local private college using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). Because of an aging society, a smaller school-age population entering colleges, and enhanced accreditation standards by the government, colleges and universities are not recruiting and retaining sufficient students and therefore are struggling for survival. In contrast to popular four-year undergraduate universities concentrated in Seoul and its satellite cities, retaining students is critical for the survival of local private colleges in poor or remote regions. Therefore, it is very important to identify the factors involved in the retention of students in the various departments of a college. However, given the different characteristics of the departments, it is difficult to identify one unique or robust set of standards to evaluate their performance. The purpose of this paper is to maximize student retention capabilities by ensuring that additional resources are assigned to efficient DMUs, while, inefficient DMUs are given benchmarked targets. Based on previous studies and college accreditation standards, this paper presents indices to be used in evaluating the efficiency of academic departments in a college. In evaluating relative efficiency, this paper uses the output-oriented BCC model. To define target levels to be achieved for efficient DMU, a multi-stage DEA procedure is used.

A foot has an intimate relation with human's health, thus became an important theme of researches for various academic fields. The aim of this paper is to investigate the trends and tendencies of research on foot measurement in various academic fields and to suggest the directions for the future studies on foot measurement. The collection of data has been accomplished from the papers published in the KSI(Korean Studied Information Service System) journals on foot measurement. The number of papers in 21 journals by 2006 is 79, and the first paper appeared in the Korean Journal of Home Economics in 1986. The number of publication has been increasing every year in various fields of academic including clothing, engineering, medical science and athletics, and measuring methods became diverse and specialized according to the purpose. However, there were some problems such as subjects being biased and similar studies overlapping without interchange between academic fields. Therefore, a research with variety in subject from an infant to the aged and a interdisciplinary research are needed.

The purpose of this paper is to compare and analyze on the result of academic motivation and achievement between two groups in order to certify the application possibility of the cooperative learning method in computer education, and on these research results this paper is to propose the profitable learning and teaching method to the teachers in the class of the computer department and to contribute the improvement of the academic motivation and achievement in computer education of the vocational high school's students. As a result, the post-test average score of academic motivation and achievement in experimental group appeared to be significantly higher than that of the comparative group. And that result is accepted as statistical in significance level p<.001
