  • Because of space limitations, interferences between antennas of the KSLV-I communication systems occur and their effects become worse during all sorts of tests such as the flight test using a light plane. In this paper, coupled signal magnitude is calculated using the FDTD method. The theory of the FDTD, absorbing boundary condition, source input technique, and post processing of data are explained. The calculated coupling factor between two IFAs, which have 2 GHz resonance frequency and placed 5 cm apart, is -12.7 dB. Applied coupling calculation method can be effectively used for KSLV-I performance analysis, subsystem design, antenna arrangement, and communication link budget for the next space launch vehicle.

  • The fields at the aperture of conical horn antenna with corrugations parallel to the axis have been analyzed using FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain). Easy calculation depending on the change of the structure of antenna and time reduction can be achieved by 2-D FDTD coding with the first-order Mur ABC(absorbing boundary condition). It is confirmed that the corrugation can reduce phase difference of field on aperture. also it is investigated that the directivity is increased by 6.1 %, 12.9%, and 28.4% with one corrugation, two corrugations, three corrugations, respectively. It is also found that the improvement of the characteristics of the antenna is not proportional to the number of the corrugation but more dependent on the location of the corrugation near the aperture than that far the aperture.

  • This paper presents a new formulation for forward scalar wave simulations in semi-infinite media. Perfectly-Matched-Layers (PMLs) are used as a wave absorbing boundary layer to surround a finite computational domain truncated from the semi-infinite domain. In this work, a hybrid formulation was developed for the simulation of scalar wave motion in two-dimensional PML-truncated domains. In this formulation, displacements and stresses are considered as unknowns in the PML domain, while only displacements are considered to be unknowns in the interior domain. This formulation reduces computational cost compared to fully-mixed formulations. To obtain governing wave equations in the PML region, complex coordinate stretching transformation was introduced to equilibrium, constitutive, and compatibility equations in the frequency domain. Then, equations were converted back to the time-domain using the inverse Fourier transform. The resulting equations are mixed (contain both displacements and stresses), and are coupled with the displacement-only equation in the regular domain. The Newmark method was used for the time integration of the semi-discrete equations.

  • To develop wide-band noise absorbers with a special design for low-frequency performance, this study proposes a tin oxide (Sn-O) thin films as the noise absorbing materials in a microstrip line. Sn-O thin films were deposited on polyimide film substrates by reactive sputtering of the Sn target under flowing $O_{2}$ gas, exhibiting a wide variation of surface resistance (in the range of $10^{0}-10^{5}{\Omega}$) depending on the oxygen partial pressure during deposition. The microstrip line with characteristic impedance of $50\Omega$ was used for the measurement of noise absorption by the Sn-O films. The reflection parameter $(S_{11})$ increased with a decrease of surface resistance due to an impedance mismatch at the boundary between the film and the microstrip line. Meanwhile, the transmission parameter $(S_{21})$ diminished with a decrease of surface resistance resulting from an Ohmic loss of the Sn-O films. The maximum noise absorption predicted at an optimum surface resistance of the Sn-O films was about $150{\Omega}$. For this film, greater power absorption is predicted in the lower frequency region (about 70% at 1 GHz) than in conventional magnetic sheets of high magnetic loss, indicating that Ohmic loss is the predominant loss parameter for the conduction noise absorption in the low frequency band.

  • A numerical model using Hybrid Element Method(HEM) is presented for the prediction of wave agitations in a harbor which are induced by the intrusion and transformation of incident short-period waves. A linear mild-slope equation including bottom friction is used as the governing equation and a partial absorbing boundary condition is used on solid boundaries. Functional derived in the present paper is based on the Chen and Mei(1974)'s concept which uses finite element net in the inner region and analytical solution of Helmholtz equation in the outer region. Final simultaneous equations are solved using the Gaussian Elimination Method. The model appears to be reasonably good from the comparison of numerical calculation with hydraulic experimental results of short-wave diffraction through a breakwater gap(Pos and Kilner, 1987). The problem of requring large computational memory could be overcome using 8-noded isoparametric elements.

  • Analysis of an indoor propagation channel has conventionally used the ray-tracing method. But, in this paper, we had modelling the channel for three dimensional indoor structure by the finite difference time domain method for three dimensional full wave analysis. An excitation signal of the FDTD method used plane wave. The plane wave was excited using the total field/scattered field method. And absorbing boundary condition used the perfectly matched layer method with 7 layers. An living room for the simulation of indoor channel modeling is surrounded the wall that be composed of the wood, the conductor, the glass and concrete. When there are furniture in the living room or not, it were simulated, respectively. As simulation results, we could identify the fading effect of multipath at indoor propagation environment, calculated mean excess delay and rms delay spread for the receiver design.

  • In general, the cut or dissolve or etc., collective changeover represents the change of scene in the film. Animation film makes scene's various parts to allow intended sensibility and narrative factors by special manufacturing skill generating frame image one by one and transfer it to the different symbolic dimensional expression. Nowadays sequential scene composition is not any more the unique special treatment for 2D animation according to image handling skill like morphing, metamorphosis, etc. becomes diverse and elaborate. But 2D manual animation makes spectator to be absorbed into different visual dimensions continuously and strongly beyond character and background, namely object and space. that is 2D manual animation's strong attractiveness. Finally these characteristics enable literary function which makes it possible to do delicate metaphorical through full scene composition basis and to communicate a implicative meaning system The analysis about scene broke boundary between symbolic perspective world and plane formative world and it became more diverse and complicated. Hereupon the analyzing the composition basis of formative element in the animation film scene and it's application effect make it helpful to analysis and application in the modern image scene having new absorbing methods

  • Machinery enclosures are widely adopted to reduce the noise emission in various fields of application. Emitted noise, which is due to the vibration of enclosure's outer surface, is composed of two kinds of sound with different path of propagation. One is the "structure-borne sound", while the other is "air-borne sound". In order to get a most efficient machinery enclouser a prudent consideration upon the above structure-borne and air-borne sound is required, as the guiding principle of contermeasure for each noise is quite different. The controlling of input vibration and its isolation are major subjects for the structure-borne sound, and the specifications of absorbing members and damping panels are the major related matters for the air-borne sound. Hence, it seems very efficient to separate the total sounds into two categories with a great accuracy when one think of further reduction of noise from the existing enclosure, although its separating methods have not been made clear for many years. Author proposes an application method of experimental modal analysis to extract the structure-borne sound from the measured total radiation sound, as the air-borne sound is deduced by the vectorial difference between the measured total radiation sound and the calculated structure-borne sound. In order to calculate the correct structure-borne sound by the excitation at an arbitrary point on the enclosure structure, it is important to decide 1) how to estimate the enclosure's surface vibration velocity and 2) how to compute the radiation sound which is considered as the effect of vibration modes of enclosure surface. The former can be solved with total frequency response function calculated by the application of experimental modal analysis. The latter is to be solved by the author's new approaches for radiation sound computation by means of the Rayleigh's integral equation and the boundary-element method applied complex surface vibration velocity. As a first step, structure-borne sound by the excitation at an arbitry point on the rectangular plate with fixed edges, has been calculated to verified the reliability of the developed computation methods. The results of calculation show good agreements with those of the actual measurements.actual measurements.

  • 0.04% Gd-duplex stainless steels (Gd-DSTSs) for neutron absorbing materials were inert arc-melted and poured into a Y-shape block with the size of $100{\times}100{\times}20[mm]$. The Gd-DSTS was hot rolled at $1200^{\circ}C$ followed by cold rolling to have 33% reduction. The average grain sizes of the rolling (RD), transverse (TD) and short transverse (ST) directions were 6, 7, $11{\mu}m$, respectively. The micro-hardnesses of the RD, TD and ST directions were 258.5, 292.3, 314.7 $H_V$, respectively. Corrosion potential and corrosion rate of the cold rolled Gd-duplex stainless steel in aerated artificial sea water and 0.1M $H_2SO_4$ solution were $0.2216V_{SHE}$, $0.0106A/cm^2$, $-0.0825V_{SHE}$, $0.0168A/cm^2$ for RD, $0.2210V_{SHE}$, $0.0077A/cm^2$, $0.0817V_{SHE}$, $0.0092A/cm^2$ for TD, $0.1056V_{SHE}$, $0.0059A/cm^2$, $0.0475V_{SHE}$, $0.0069A/cm^2$ for ST, respectively. The corrosion behavior depended on the texture, which were due to mainly grain boundary and minorly crystallographic texture. Friction coefficient and wear resistance were 2.07 and 0.48 mm, respectively.

  • In this paper, we developed a numerical analysis model by using ADI-FDTD method to analyze three-dimensional interconnect structure. We discretized maxwell's curl equation by using ADI-FDTD. We introduced PML(Perfectly Matched Layer) absorbing boundary condition to solve the effect of the reflected wave at the interface. Evaluating the numerical model of PML and ADI-FDTD, we simulated the electric field distribution in time domain. We compare standard FDTD with ADI-FDTD, and analysis the result.
