According to these purposes, the research questions can be set up as followings. (1) How is the state of illumination of the elementary school student's intuitive thinking in the process of mathematical problem solving? (2) What are origins of errors by elementary school student's intuitive thinking in the process of mathematical problem solving? In this study, Bogdan & Biklen's qualitative research method were used. The subjects in this study were 4 students who were attending the elementary school. The data in this study were 'Intuitine Thinking Test', records of observation and interview. In the interview, the discourses were recorded by sound and video recording. These were later transcribed and analyzed in detail. The findings of this study were as follows: First, If Elementary school student Knows the algorithm of problem, they rely on solving by algorithm rather than solving by intuitive thinking. Second, their problem solving ability by intuitive model are low. What is more they solve the problem by Intuitive model, their Self- Evidence is low. Third, in the process of solving the problem, intuitive thinking can complement logical thinking. Last, in the concept of probability and problem of probability, they are led into cognitive conflict cause of subjective interpretation.

  • Mathematics franchise education companies are developing various online learning systems to provide on-off integrated education to learners. Most online learning systems deliver one-way lecture content to learners and perform quantitative problem-solving learning for learning results. However, each learner has different academic achievement competencies, and it is impossible to determine exactly where the level of understanding fell when solving a math method. and based on this, establish an online learning system to discover the weak points of learners and propose an effective learner management method. Through the developed learning method and system, it is expected to cultivate balanced problem-solving ability for learners and provide differentiated brand image and counseling service to franchise companies.

  • Problem Based learning(PBL) is a teaching and learning method to increase mathematical ability and help achieving mathematical concepts and principles through problem solving using the learner's mathematical prerequisite knowledge. In addition, the recent instructional situations or environments have focused on the learner's self construction of his learning and its process. In spite of such a quite attention, it is not easy to apply and execute PBL program actually in class. Especially, there are some difficulties in actually applying and practicing PBL in the areas of mathematics education in not only secondary school but also in college. Its reason is that in order to conduct PBL instruction constantly in real or experimental class there is no more concrete and detailed instructional content during the consistent and long period. However, to whom is related to mathematics education including instructors called scaffolders, investigation and recognition on the degree of the learner's acquisition of mathematical thinking skills and strategies is an very important work. By the reason, in this study, the instructional content was to be explored and developed to be conducted during 15 weeks in one semester, which was based on Problem Based Learning environment by the subject of the theories relevant to mathematics education in the college of education.

  • This study aims to suggest a model of task development for mathematics performance assessment and to develop performance tasks for the fifth graders in the primary school on the basis of this model. In order to achieve these aims, the following inquiry questions were set up: (1) to develop open-ended tasks and projects for the fifth graders, (2) to develop checklists for measuring the abilities of mathematical reasoning, problem solving, connection, communication of the fifth graders more deeply when performance assessment tasks are implemented and (3) to examine the appropriateness of performance tasks and checklists and to modify them when is needed through applying these tasks to pupils. The consequences of applying some tasks and analysing some work samples of pupils are as follows. Firstly, pupils need more diverse thinking ability. Secondly, pupils want in the ability of analysing the meaning of mathematical concepts in relation to real world. Thirdly, pupils can calculate precisely but they want in the ability of explaining their ideas and strategies. Fourthly, pupils can find patterns in sequences of numbers or figures but they have difficulty in generalizing these patterns, predicting and demonstrating. Fifthly, pupils are familiar with procedural knowledge more than conceptual knowledge. From these analyses, it is concluded that performance tasks and checklists developed in this study are improved assessment tools for measuring mathematical abilities of pupils, and that we should improve mathematics instruction for pupils to understand mathematical concepts deeply, solve problems, reason mathematically, connect mathematics to real world and other disciplines, and communicate about mathematics.
