The objective of this research is to estimate the stand volume of Pinus koraiensis, by using the investigated volume and the information of remote sensing(RS), in the research forest of Kangwon National University. The average volume of the research forest per hectare was $307.7m^3/ha$ and standard deviation was $168.4m^3/ha$. Before and after carrying out 3 by 3 majority filtering on TM image, eleven indices were extracted each time. Independent variables needed for linear regression equation were selected using mean pixel values by indices. The number of indices were eleven: six Bands(except for thermal Band), NDVI, Band Ratio(BR1:Band4/Band3, BR2:Band5/Band4, BR3:Band7/Band4), Tasseled Cap-Greeness. As a result, NDVI and TC G were chosen as the most suitable indices for regression before and after filtering, and R-squared was high: 0.736 before filtering, 0.753 after filtering. As a result of error verification for an exact comparison, RMSE before and after filtering was about $69.1m^3/ha$, $67.5m^3/ha$, respectively, and bias was $-12.8m^3/ha$, $9.7m^3/ha$, respectively. Therefore, the regression conducted with filtering was selected as an appropriate model because of low RMSE and bias. The estimated stand volume applying the regression was $160,758m^3$, and the average volume was $314m^3/ha$. This estimation was 1.2 times higher than the actual stand volume of Pinus koraiensis.
The purpose of this paper is to weigh the possibility of endangered Jang-hang wetland at the estuary of Han River to be included on the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance and come up with ways to manage the wetland depending on its biotope patterns. The target area is located between Gimpo bridge and Isanpo I.C. with about $2.7km^2$ area. Through the analysis of RIS(Information Sheet for Ramsar Wetlands), it was known that the wetland is located on the sedimentary topography and formed as a result of sediment at the estuary of the river owing to the concentration of rainfall during summer. The vegetation environment in the area is divided into brackish water and fresh water areas depending on salinity. Rhizosphere soil(RS) of the area was analyzed to be Silt loam while bottom RS to be Sand loam. The plant ecology was composed of 52 families 135 species and 11 varieties and 146 types. Among indigenous species found are Salix koreensis, Phragmites communis and Miscanthus sacchariflorus. The analyzed results of the actual vegetation showed that willow community accounts for 37% of the area and rice field is 13.5%. As for animal ecology, total of 62 species and 25,977 individual wild birds were observed. After comparing and analyzing the RIS we compiled with the Ramsar Site designation standards, it turns out that the Jang-hang wetland meets criteria 1(biographic region), criteria 2,3 and 4(species and ecological communities) and criteria 5 and 6(water birds). Thus, Jang-hang wetland is eligible for the Ramsar site. As a result of establishing and evaluating the biotope types for setting management areas, Jang-hang wetland has a total of 13 different types, and the grade I represents 75.4% of the area while the grade III 0.8% of the land status. We categorized four management zones for the wetland depending on the biotope patterns - preservation, restoration, use and buffer zones and suggested management methods for each zone.
The characteristic thermoluminescence responses of Teflon thermoluminescent dosimeters to radiations have been studied by the variation of radiation qualities as well as the high dose radiations. The change in the sensitivity of TLDs for different radiation qualities were studied through not only the photon energy dependence but also the change of supralinearity on the photon energy dependence, by exposing $^{60}Co$ gamma rays, the effective X-rays of 44keV, 69keV, 108keV, and thermal neutron of 0.04 eV. The results were as the following: The TL response of $T-CaSO_4$: Dy as a function of absorbed dose was linear up to about 5 Gy, and the response beyond 5Gy was supralinear for $^{60}Co$ gamma rays. The supralinearity of T-LiF-7 became noticeably apparent more than that of $T-CaSO_4$:Dy and also the lower the LET of radiation became the higher the supralinear effects were. No supralinearity appeared for the thermal neutron irradiations equivalent to 10Gy of $^{60}Co$ gamma rays. The relative sensitivities (Rs), which depended on the doses of $^{60}Co$ gamma rays to the TLDs of T-LiF-7 and T-$CaSO_4$:Dy could be, respectively, approximated to the following empirical formula fitted by the least square method: $$R_{LiF}=1.021-0.04581\;logD+0.402(logD)^2-0.405(logD)^3,\;\;5{\times}10^3{\geq}D{\geq}1(Gy)$$$$R_{CaSO_4}=0.976-0.3241\;logD+0.262(logD)^2-0.298(logD)^3,\;5{\times}10^3{\geq}D{\geq}1(Gy)$$.
This paper suggests how to design a ZigBee-chip-based communication module to remotely measure radiation level. The suggested communication module consists of two control processors for the chip as generally required to configure a ZigBee system, and one chip module to configure a ZigBee RF device. The ZigBee-chip-based communication module for remote radiation measurement consists of a wireless communication controller; sensor and high-voltage generator; charger and power supply circuit; wired communication part; and RF circuit and antenna. The wireless communication controller is to control wireless communication for ZigBee and to measure radiation level remotely. The sensor and high-voltage generator generates 500 V in two consecutive series to amplify and filter pulses of radiation detected by G-M Tube. The charger and power supply circuit part is to charge lithium-ion battery and supply power to one-chip processors. The wired communication part serves as a RS-485/422 interface to enable USB interface and wired remote communication for interfacing with PC and debugging. RF circuit and antenna applies an RLC passive component for chip antenna to configure BALUN and antenna impedance matching circuit, allowing wireless communication. After configuring the ZigBee-chip-based communication module, tests were conducted to measure radiation level remotely: data were successfully transmitted in 10-meter and 100-meter distances, measuring radiation level in a remote condition. The communication module allows an environment where radiation level can be remotely measured in an economically beneficial way as it not only consumes less electricity but also costs less. By securing linearity of a radiation measuring device and by minimizing the device itself, it is possible to set up an environment where radiation can be measured in a reliable manner, and radiation level is monitored real-time.
The purpose of this study is to inquire into molecular epidemiological characteristics of Vibrio parahaemolyticus. For this study, 120 strains(120 strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus sampled from diarrhea patients) were examined and analyzed for biochemical characteristics, TDH (thermostable direct hemolysin) antibiotics sensitivity and detection of toxR, gyrE, tdh, and tds gents. G-S PCR (Group Specific Polymerase), PFGE (Pulsed-field Gel Electrophoriesis) methods were performed on the materials from patients were results. 1 Vibrio parahaemolyticus didn't grow in 0% density of NaCl, but the fact was found that those grew in 8% density of NaCl. 2. O:K serotypes of Vibrio parahaemolyticus was turned up in domestic patients was 17 types. Among those O3:K6 was the most, it was 68.3%. 3. In 18 kinds of antibiotic tests resistant against Ampicillin, Ticacillin was comparatively high. the case of resistant against Ampicillin, Ticacillin, Vancomycin at the multiple resistant was 52.5%. 4. Toxin gene tdh had only 109 strains among 120 ones isolated from patients held the genes of 199bp size, and 11 strains was negativity 5. In the test of Kanagawa toxic productivity, 107 strains among strains isolated from patients appeared to be positivity reaction 6. The strain that held trh toxin was only 3, and those among test strains had the genes of 250bp size and that had tdh, trh genes at a time were 3 strains, and TDH toxic productivity of those were 16 times, and it was weak. 7. Group Specific-PCR appeared to be useful in the confirmation of O3:K6 serotype interrelations. 8. Three strains which showed difference of 7 DNA sequence even in the same serotype were detected by the result of analyzing the regular gene, toxRS DNA sequence. These strains are differ from general strains which carry infection easily. 9. These mutual dose epidemiological relations were classified into smaller-parts through PFGE method. As a result of such classify, 3 findings were found. V. parahaemolyticus sampled from diarrhea patients were classified into 3 types. And third, the result obtained through PFGE method can be used as a useful tool in a point of molecular-epidemiological view.
The 2018 United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report announced that deforestation in North Korea is the most extreme situation and in terms of climate change, this deforestation is a global scale issue. To respond deforestation, various study and projects are conducted based on remote sensing, but access to public data in North Korea is limited, and objectivity is difficult to be guaranteed. In this study, the forest detection based on density estimation in statistic using Landsat imagery was conducted in Gangwon province which is the only administrative district divided into South and North. The forest spatial data of South Korea was used as data for the labeling of forest and Non-forest in the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and a threshold (0.6658) for forest detection was set by Gaussian Probability Density Function (PDF) estimation by category. The results show that the forest area decreased until the 2000s in both Korea, but the area increased in 2010s. It is also confirmed that the reduction of forest area on the local scale is the same as the policy direction of urbanization and industrialization at that time. The Kappa value for validation was strong agreement (0.8) and moderate agreement (0.6), respectively. The detection based on the Gaussian PDF estimation is considered a method for complementing the statistical limitations of the existing detection method using satellite imagery. This study can be used as basic data for deforestation in North Korea and Based on the detection results, it is necessary to protect and restore forest resources.
There has been continuous efforts to manage water resources for the required water quality criterion at river channel in Korea. However, we could obtain the partial improvement only for the point sources such as, waste waters from urban and factory site through the water quality management. Therefore, it is strongly needed that the best management practice throughout the river basin fur water quality management including non-point sources pollutant loads. This problem should be resolved by recognizing the non-point sources pollutant loads from the upstream river basin to the outlet of the basin depends on the landuse and soil type characteristics of the river basin using the computer simulation by a distributed model based on the detailed investigation and application of Geographic Information System (GIS). The purpose of this study is consisted of the three major distributions, which are the investigation of spread non-point sources pollutants throughout the river basin, development of the base maps to represent and interpret the input and outputs of the distributed simulation model, and prediction of non-point sources pollutant loads at the outlet of a up-stream river basin using Agricultural Non-Point Sources Model (AGNPS). For the validation purpose, the Seom-Jin River basin was selected with two flood events in 1998. The results of this application showed that the use of combined a distributed model and an application of GIS was very effective fur the best water resources and quality management practice throughout the river basin

Stoltz's AQP is a tool to estimate the level of adversity. The purpose of study is to test the reliability and validity of AQP. The participants were 297 nurses of tertiary hospital in Korea. Data were collected from Aug. to Oct. 2013. Resilience Scale was used as criterion of AQP. Cronbach's alpha test, item total correlation, exploratory factor, correlation analysis, and ANOVA test were used. In result, factor analysis was accounted for four factors explaining 56.256% of total variance and corresponding factors were factor 1 (Control, 10.7%), factor 2 (Ownership, 13.7%), factor 3(Reach, 17.4%), factor 4 (Endurance, 14.9%). The internal consistency was acceptable (Cronbach's alpha=.84). Four factors were positively correlated with RS. AQP is a reliable and valid instrument to measure for adversity quotient in Korean nurse.
Evapotranspiration (ET) including evaporation from a land surface and transpiration from photosynthesis of vegetation is a sensitive hydrological factor with outer circumstances. Though both direct measurements with an evaporation pan and a lysimeter, and empirical methods using eddy covariance technique and the Bowen ratio have been widely used to observe ET accurately, they have a limitation that the observation can stand for the exact site, not for an area. In this study, remote sensing technique is adopted to compensate the limitation of ground observation using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) multispectral sensor mounted on Terra satellite. We improved to evapotranspiration model based on remote sensing (Mu et al., 2007) and estimated Penman-Monteith evapotranspiration considering regional characteristics of Korea that was using only MODIS product. We validated evapotranspiration of Sulma (SMK)/Cheongmi (CFK) flux tower observation and calculation. The results showed high correlation coefficient as 0.69 and 0.74.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relations between mother's temperament and child's and parenting attitude. Methods: One hundred twenty healthy mothers (above 20 ys) who has a child (7-11 ys) participated after informed consent. The temperament of the children was analyzed by the Junior Temperament and Character Inventory 7-11 (JTCI 7-11) by their mothers. The temperament of the mothers was analyzed by the Temperament and Character Inventory-Revised Short (TCI-RS) and the parenting attitude of the mothers was analyzed by the Parenting Attitude Test (PAT). The relations between mother and child temperament and parenting attitude were assessed using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: There were some significant correlations between maternal temperaments and child's temperaments and maternal parenting attitude. Maternal temperament and parenting attitude: Novelty seeking (NS) of mother had low positive correlations with punishment, high expectation and inconsistency. Harm avoidance (HA) had low positive correlations with high involvement and high expectation, and had weak negative correlations with supportive expression and rational explanation. Reward dependence (RD) had low positive correlation with rational explanation. Persistence (P) had low positive correlations with supportive expression, rational explanation and superintendence, and weak negative correlation with high expectation. Child's temperament and parenting attitude: NS of child had low positive correlations with achievement press, high involvement, punishment, high expectation and inconsistency. Low positive correlations were found in many sets such as HA and high expectation, RD and supportive expression and rational explanation, P and supportive expression and rational explanation. Conclusions: These results suggest that there are significant relations between mother and child temperament and parenting attitude the temperament of mother and child.
