Spectral Estimation of EEG signal by AR Model (AR 모델을 이용한 뇌파신호의 스펙트럼 추정)

  • EEG signal is analyzed by two methods, analysis by visual inspection of EEG recording sheets and analysis by quantative method. Generally visual inspection method is used in the clinical field. But this method has its limitation because EEG signal is random signal. Therefore it is necessary to analyze EEG signals quantatively to obtain more precise and objective information of neural and brain. In this paper, power spectrum of EEG signal was estimated by AR(AutoRegressive) model in the frequency domain. This process is useful as a preprocessing stage for tomographic brain mapping (TBM) at each frequency, band. As a method for estimating power spectral density of EEG signals, periodogram method, autocorrelation method. covariance method, modified covariance method, and Burg method are tested in this paper.

  • In the nuclear industry, in order to keep pace with the 4th industrial revolution era, they are trying to improve the construction and maintenance ability by utilizing the technologies such as digital twin and VR/AR from the construction stage. However, the nuclear 3D CAD model, which is used as the base in the latest technology, is heavy due to a large number of facilities per unit space compared to other industrial companies, and it is difficult to directly incorporate the latest technology into the results of CAD programs for design purposes. In this study, in order to improve usability, we tried to lighten the 3D model. First, we analyze the existing nuclear power plant 3D model and draw out the problems and features. Secondly, we derived the factors to consider when we make the 3D CAD models lightweight.

  • 본 논문은 기존에 이미 구현된 ARS 기능을 적용하여 새로운 TeleCommunication에서의 부가기능 모델을 제시하였다. 이미 CTI분야에서는 ARS기능을 사용한지 오래다. 그들은 기존의 일반공중전화망(PSTN)망을 대체하는 인터넷망을 활용한 인터넷 텔레포니로의 전환을 서두르고 있다. 현재의 통신기술의 발달은 일반사용자들보다 너무 앞선 나머지 User들의 인식을 받지 못하고 있다. 그래서 본 논문은 User들에게 가장 친숙한 일반공중전화망(PSTN)을 통신환경으로 설정하여 컴퓨터에서의 부가기능 모델을 제시한다. 제시하는 모델은 인터넷텔레포니 및 공중전화망을 사용하는 일반전화단말기에 영향을 받지 않기 때문에 환경의 변화에 쉽게 적용할 수 있다.

Metaverse Augmented Reality Research Trends Using Topic Modeling Methodology (토픽 모델링 기법을 활용한 메타버스 증강현실 연구 동향 분석)

  • The non-face-to-face environment accelerated by COVID-19 has speeded up the dissemination of digital virtual ecosystems and metaverse. In order for the metaverse to be sustainable, digital twins that are compatible with the real world are key, and critical technology for that is AR (Augmented Reality). In this study, we examined research trends about AR, and will propose the directions for future AR research. We conducted LDA based topic modeling on 11,049 abstracts of published domestic and foreign AR related papers from 2009 to Mar 2022, and then looked into AR that was comprehensive research trends, comparison of domestic and foreign research trends, and research trends before and after the popularity of metaverse concepts. As a result, the topics of AR related research were deduced from 11 topics such as device, network communication, surgery, digital twin, education, serious game, camera/vision, color application, therapy, location accuracy, and interface design. After popularity of metaverse, 6 topics were deduced such as camera/vision, training, digital twin, surgical/surgical, interaction performance, and network communication. We will expect, through this study, to encourage active research on metaverse AR with convergent characteristics in multidisciplinary fields and contribute to giving useful implications to practitioners.

A study on the relation between stationarity and synthesized images for GMRF (GMRF 모델의 안정성과 합성 영상과의 관계에 관한 연구)

  • Markov random field models have extensively used in applications such as image segmentation and image restoration. In this paper, we consider the relation between the stationarity of parameters and the synthesized images for gauss-markov rnadom field which has the most popularly used among many MRF models. GMRF model, which is both wide-sense Markov and strict-sense markov, has AR representations and is also a kind of gibbs distribution. Therefore, we may approach in aspect of both AR models and gibbs models. We show the relation between the stationarity of parameters and the images which are synthesized by two approaching methods and derive the stationary regions of parameters in 1st order and isotropic 2nd order case.

  • For effective on-line ARMA parameter estimation, a covariance type ARMA fast transversal filter (FTF) algorithm is presented. The proposed algorithm is a covariance type implementation of ELS(Extended Least Squares) estimator and it is a fast time update recursion which is based on the fact that the correlation matrix of ARMA model satisfies the shift invariance property in each sub-block. The geometric approach is used in the derivation of the proposed algorithm. It takes small computational burden of 13N+37 MADPR(Multiplication And Division Per Recursion). Also, AR and MA orders can be independetly and arbitrarily specified.

  • 해상에서 운항되는 선박에서 인명사고가 발생하면 육상과 달리 적시에 의료지원을 받기 구조적으로 어렵다. 특히 연안선박의 경우 원양선에 비해 상대적으로 고령의 선원들이 승무하고 있기 때문에 인명사고가 빈번하며 인명사고에 취약하다. 본 연구는 AR과 VR과 같은 실감기술을 기반으로하는 연박선박의 원격의료지원 모델 개발하기 위한 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.

Wave Height and Downtime Event Forecasting in Harbour with Complex Topography Using Auto-Regressive and Artificial Neural Networks Models (자기회귀 모델과 신경망 모델을 이용한 복잡한 지형 내 항만에서의 파고 및 하역중단 예측)

  • Recently, as the strength of winds and waves increases due to the climate change, abnormal waves such as swells have been also increased, which results in the increase of downtime events of loading/unloading in a harbour. To reduce the downtime events, breakwaters were constructed in a harbour to improve the tranquility. However, it is also important and useful for efficient port operation by predicting accurately and also quickly the downtime events when the harbour operation is in a limiting condition. In this study, numerical simulations were carried out to calculate the wave conditions based on the forecasted wind data in offshore area/outside harbour and also the long-term observation was carried out to obtain the wave data in a harbour. A forecasting method was designed using an auto-regressive (AR) and artificial neural networks (ANN) models in order to establish the relationship between the wave conditions calculated by wave model (SWAN) in offshore area and observed ones in a harbour. To evaluate the applicability of the proposed method, this method was applied to predict wave heights in a harbour and to forecast the downtime events in Pohang New Harbour with highly complex topography were compared. From the verification study, it was observed that the ANN model was more accurate than the AR model.

  • This study is a study that analyzes the user experience of a virtual makeup application in the beauty industry where color or formulation testing is important. Recently, cases of beauty smart stores and beauty applications using AR and AI are increasing. However, since virtual makeup is different from testing a real product, it is necessary to derive needs through research from the user's side. In order to compare user preferences by using AR and AI cases, six factors based on the emotional interface model were analyzed through a questionnaire to identify items with statistically significant figures. As a result, the user felt comfortable with the virtual makeup function, but showed that it needs to be supplemented in terms of reliability. Since this study focused on the customer experience as a real user and identified the main experience factors and needs of virtual makeup through two types of comparison, it is hoped that this study will be useful as a prior study.

Hydrogen Separation from Binary and Ternary Mixture Gases by Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA 공정에 의한 이성분 및 삼성분 혼합기체로부터 수소분리)

  • An experiment and simulation were performed for hydrogen separation of mixtures by PSA (pressure swing adsorption) process on activated carbon. The binary ($H_2/Ar$; 80%/ 20%) and ternary ($H_2/Ar/CH_4$; 60%/ 20%/ 20%) mixtures were used to study the effects of feed composition. The cyclic performances such as purity, recovery, and productivity of 2bed-6step PSA process were experimentally and theoretically compared under non-isothermal and non-adiabatic conditions. The develped process produced the hydrogen with 99% purity and 75% recovery from both processes. Therefore, optimal separation condition was referred multicomponent gas mixtures.
