압저항 효과를 이용한 실리콘 압력센서 제작공정의 최적화 (Optimization on the fabrication process of Si pressure sensors utilizing piezoresistive effect)

  • 본 논문에서는 압저항 효과를 이용한 Si 압력센서 제작을 최적화하였다. Si 압저항형 압력센서의 제작공정에 있어서 압저항과 알루미늄 회로 패턴 이후에 Si 이방성 식각을 통하여 수율이 개선되었다. 압저항의 위치와 공정 파라메터는 각각 ANSYS와 SUPREME 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 결정하였다. Boron-depth 프로파일 측정으로부터 p-형 Si 압저항의 두께를 측정한 결과 SUPREME 시뮬레이션으로부터 얻은 결과와 잘 부합하였다. 다이아프램을 위한 Si 이방성 식각 공정은 암모늄 첨가제 AP(Ammonium persulfate)를 TMAH(Tetra-methyl ammonium hydroxide) 용액에 첨가함으로써 최적화되었다.

Detecting and predicting the crude oil type inside composite pipes using ECS and ANN

  • The present work develops an expert system for detecting and predicting the crude oil types and properties at normal temperature ${\theta}=25^{\circ}C$, by evaluating the dielectric properties of the fluid transfused inside glass fiber reinforced epoxy (GFRE) composite pipelines, by using electrical capacitance sensor (ECS) technique, then used the data measurements from ECS to predict the types of the other crude oil transfused inside the pipeline, by designing an efficient artificial neural network (ANN) architecture. The variation in the dielectric signatures are employed to design an electrical capacitance sensor (ECS) with high sensitivity to detect such problem. ECS consists of 12 electrodes mounted on the outer surface of the pipe. A finite element (FE) simulation model is developed to measure the capacitance values and node potential distribution of ECS electrodes by ANSYS and MATLAB, which are combined to simulate sensor characteristic. Radial Basis neural network (RBNN), structure is applied, trained and tested to predict the finite element (FE) results of crude oil types transfused inside (GFRE) pipe under room temperature using MATLAB neural network toolbox. The FE results are in excellent agreement with an RBNN results, thus validating the accuracy and reliability of the proposed technique.

철도 차량의 축에 대한 구조 해석을 통한 융합 기술연구 (Study on Convergence Technique through Structural Analysis on the Axle of Railway Vehicle)

  • 철도차량에서의 축은 안전한 운행을 하기 위해서는 중요한 역할을 함으로서 그 강도 및 내충격성, 재질, 안전계수, 응력 및 변형이 고려되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 Model 1과 Model 2의 시뮬레이션 모델들이 있다. 이 모델들은 CATIA와 ANSYS로 설계, 구조 및 피로 해석을 통한 융합 기술을 수행함으로서 연구된다. Model A의 최대 변형량과 최대 등가응력이 Model B보다 더 작음으로서 Model A가 Model B보다 내구성을 더 가지고 있다. 본 연구 결과를 철도 차량의 부품 설계에 응용함으로서 파손을 방지하기 위한 내구성이 고찰될 수 있다. 그리고 디자인 면에서의 융합 기술로의 접목도 가능하여 미적인 감각을 나타낼 수 있다.

Thermal Behavior Variations in Coating Thickness Using Pulse Phase Thermography

  • This paper presents a study on the use of pulsed phase thermography in the measurement of thermal barrier coating thickness with a numerical simulation. A multilayer heat transfer model was ussed to analyze the surface temperature response acquired from one-sided pulsed thermal imaging. The test sample comprised four layers: the metal substrate, bond coat, thermally grown oxide and the top coat. The finite element software, ANSYS, was used to model and predict the temperature distribution in the test sample under an imposed heat flux on the exterior of the TBC. The phase image was computed with the use of the software MATLAB and Thermofit Pro using a Fourier transform. The relationship between the coating thickness and the corresponding phase angle was then established with the coating thickness being expressed as a function of the phase angle. The method is successfully applied to measure the coating thickness that varied from 0.25 mm to 1.5 mm.

A Study on Temperature Dependent Super-junction Power TMOSFET

  • It is important to operate the driving circuit under the optimal condition through precisely sensing the power consumption causing the temperature made mainly by the MOSFET (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) when a BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) motor operates. In this letter, a Super-junction (SJ) power TMOSFET (trench metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) with an ultra-low specific on-resistance of $0.96m{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ under the same break down voltage of 100 V is designed by using of the SILVACO TCAD 2D device simulator, Atlas, while the specific on-resistance of the traditional power MOSFET has tens of $m{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$, which makes the higher power consumption. The SPICE simulation for measuring the power distribution of 25 cells for a chip is carried out, in which a unit cell is a SJ Power TMOSFET with resistor arrays. In addition, the power consumption for each unit cell of SJ Power TMOSFET, considering the number, pattern and position of bonding, is computed and the power distribution for an ANSYS model is obtained, and the SJ Power TMOSFET is designed to make the power of the chip distributed uniformly to guarantee it's reliability.

Warpage Simulation by the CTE mismatch in Blanket Structured Wafer Level 3D packaging

  • In 3D wafer-stacking technology, one of the major issues is wafer warpage. Especially, The important reason of warpage has been known due to CTE(Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) mismatch between materials. It was too hard to choose how to make the FE model for blanket structured wafer level 3D packaging, because the thickness of each layer in wafer level 3D packaging was too small (micro meter or nano meter scale) comparing with diameter of wafer (6 or 8 inches). In this study, the FE model using the shell element was selected and simulated by the ANSYS WorkBench to investigate effects of the CTE on the warpage. To verify the FE model, it was compared by experimental results.

선박 연료탱크 내 가온기의 열유동 및 안전성 평가에 관한 해석 (Study of Heat Transfer and Safety Evaluation for Heating Coils in the Fuel Tank of a Ship)

  • The fuel tank of a ship is filled with heavy fuel oil (HFO) that has a very high viscosity. In order to inject the HFO into the engine easily, heating coils are usually installed inside the fuel tank to heat the HFO and lower its viscosity. Currently, several different types of heating coils are used, e.g., fin-type, bare-type, drum-type, and shell-and-tube-type. It is well known that the shell-and-tube-type heating coil has good performance and high efficiency. In this study, experiments were conducted to determine the heat transfer efficiencies of three different shell-and-tube-type heating coils. Heat transfer efficiency was evaluated by using FLUENT 6.3.26 software. Also, structural safety was assessed by using ANSYS.simulation software.

수직축 풍력터빈의 유동해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Air Flow Analysis in Vertical-axis Wind Turbine)

  • This paper did basic study on the vertical-axis wind turbine. Namely, This paper was try to find the optimum conditions by using the ANSYS CFX simulation program through the changes of the main-blade angle and sub-blade angle. Main-blade Shape #4 angle $45^{\circ}$ compared to others Shape angle $0^{\circ}$ was increased by 157.2[%] to 263.2[%] in the power output and was increased by 110[%] to 250[%] in the power coefficient. Also, when the Shape #5 Fin length of main-blade doubles, because the power output was 70.8[%] compared to Shape #1 and 27.5[%] compared to Shape #4, and the power coefficient was 60[%] compared to Shape #1 and 28.6[%] compared to Shape #4, the power output and the power efficiency were rather reduced. The output current of Shape #4 was increased 109.9[%] compared to Shape #1 and increased 250[%] compared to Shape #5, and The output voltage of Shape #4 was increased 22.5[%] compared to Shape #1 and increased 3.7[%] compared to Shape #4.

폐수 이송용 원심펌프의 성능해석에서 표면 거칠기의 영향 (Effect of Surface Roughness on Performance Analysis of Centrifugal Pump for Wastewater Transport)

  • 본 연구는 폐수처리용 원심 펌프 설계과정에서 수행하는 3차원 유동해석에 있어서 표면 거칠기를 고려한 해석 결과와 고려하지 않은 해석 결과가 성능 예측에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 수행하였다. 이를 위해 비교적 기하학적 형상이 복잡한 폐수처리용 원심펌프의 표면 거칠기 변화가 유동 해석 결과에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 그리고 실제 해석 대상 펌프를 사용한 실험 결과 값과 해석 결과 값을 서로 비교 해봄으로써 표면 거칠기를 고려한 펌프의 해석 값과 고려하지 않은 해석 결과 값 차이에 대한 정량적인 분석을 제시하였다. 그 결과, 해석 시 표면 거칠기를 고려한 해석결과는 실험결과와 잘 일치하는 함을 보였으며, 표면 거칠기는 펌프의 성능해석에 약 7% 범위에서 영향을 준다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs) can convert the chemical energy of fuel into electricity directly. With the rising fuel prices and stricter emission requirement, SOFCs have been widely recognized as a promising technology in the near future. In this study, lean premixed flame using the orifice swirl burner was analyzed numerically and experimentally. We used the program CHEMKIN and the GRI 3.0 chemical reaction mechanism for the calculation of burning velocity and adiabatic flame temperature to investigate the effects of equivalence ratio on the adiabatic flame temperature and burning velocity respectively. Burning velocity of hydrogen was calculated by CHEMKIN simulation was 325cm/s, which was faster than that of methane having 42 cm/s at the same equivalence ratio. Also Ansys Fluent was used so as to analysis the performance with alteration of swirl structure and orifice mixer structure. This experimental study focused on stability and emission characteristics and the influence of swirl and orifice mixer in Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Systme burner. The results show that the stable blue flame with different equivalence ratio. NOx was measured below 20 ppm from equivalence ratios 0.72 to 0.84 and CO which is a very important emission index in combustor was observed below 160 ppm under the same equivalence region.
