A Study on Analysis Model for Weapon Acquisition Alternatives (국방 무기체계 획득방안 연구 방법론 제안)

  • Recently, it is expected for requirement for more scientific research of weapon systems acquisition alternatives with reliability and objectivity. For these needs, study on methodology of weapon systems acquisition alternatives is but on-going, but it is still in its early stages and is unprofessional. We compared general decision making methods, government development program decision making methods, methodologies of weapon systems acquisition alternatives research such as AHP, ANP, KAAM and proposed AHP as weapon acquisition analysis. This study guarantees objectivity and derives scientific research results reliability by analyzing and comparing comprehensive elements such as cost, effectiveness, deployment schedule, program management risk. Further study on AHP weight and other decision making methods is needed considering category of weapon systems and program characteristics.

Application of AHP to Select for Priority of Permanent Traffic Volume Survey Site (AHP를 적용한 상시 교통량 조사 지점 선정 우선순위 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Traffic volume data have been used for the plan, the design, and the operation of highway. Since 1955, traffic survey has been nation- widely carried out at national highway and the regular survey in national highway has been conducted at the intersections of highways. However, it is critical issue to select the priority of the regular survey because it is almost impossible to conduct regular survey at all intersections of national highways. In this study, MCDM(Multiple Criteria Decision Making) using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) was applied to decide the priority of the regular survey. The following standard variables for determining the priority was selected the highway plan variables[AADT, VKT, Peak Hourly Volume, Location of highway from Urban], the highway design variables[Volume(pcu), Directional Traffic Volume, Heavy Vehicle Rate], and the highway operation variables[Speed, Density, V/C]. The standard variables were quantified and normalized. Using the Eigen vector method, the weighted values of each hierarchy based on the pair-wise comparison values from the questionnaire survey were calculated. The selection of the priority of regular survey was dependent on the size of the product of the weighted values for each hierarchy and the normalized values for the standard variables. Finally, the priority of regular survey of the intersections of national highways was determined according to the order in the size of the product of two values.

Application of the Balanced Scorecard for the Performance Measurement in Health-care Organization (의료기관에서의 Balanced Scorecard를 이용한 성과측정)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a performance measurement factor of Balanced Scorecard(BSC) for health-care organization. We did also the research to evaluate the validity and reliability of these indicators. Fifty six health-care organizations are participated in a survey questionnaires. This questionnaires consists of 53-questions, which are the performance evaluation indicators designed by researcher, which are based on the Norton and Kaplan's BSC-Framework. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was carried out and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied to analyze the weight and significances of each factor. Factor analysis of the BSC resulted in 11 major measurement factors (Eigenvalue >1.0). The AHP analysis showed the list of the hospital BSC measurement factors and its KPI(Key Performance Indicator) weighted by its significance priorities. The recommendable degree of reliability and validity of these BSC factors suggests that these factors are adequate for performance measurements of the health-care organizations in Korea.

  • When a ship accident occurs, it is imperative that the captain makes a prompt decision because the accident directly leads to the loss of human lives. The purpose of this study is to quantitatively analyze the main factors and to provide basic data for making decisions in case of ship related contingencies. Experts were surveyed using questionnaires containing eight main factors. The priorities based on relative importance of those factors were determined using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). As a result, the main priority factors were capsizing (heeling occurs), and fire/explosion, which could have the greatest impact on decision making. We plan to do a larger, more detailed scale survey to improve the reliability of the results. The results above will be used as a basis for the main factors of ships and passenger evacuation decision-making procedures.

Determining the Priorities of Korean Suicide Prevention Policies using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) (AHP기법을 이용한 우리나라 자살예방정책의 우선순위 설정)

  • Since 2004 suicide in Korea was the number 1 cause of mortality among OECD countries, the suicides and suicide mortality rate is constantly increasing. Using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), we examined the main approaches and detailed policies of suicide prevention to confirm an effective suicide policy. A workshop and survey were conducted on August 23rd and 26th, 2013, with 30 people. There were 20 academics (4 social workers, 7 mental health workers, 5 psychiatrists, 4 clinical psychologists), and 5 policymakers and 5 administrative staff. In additional 5 people from social welfare and 5 from clinical psychology fields were survey from september 9 to 12 by e-mail. The research found 4 priorities. They include, suicide attempt management, building up public infrastructure for suicide prevention, support to bereaved families, and crisis management of high risk groups in society.

An Evaluation of Airports' Service Provision Based on Consumer Perception (소비자 인식에 따른 주요공항의 서비스 평가)

  • This research has been carried out for assessing the competitiveness of the major Asian airports based on the quality of service provision. Five airports were selected for evaluation: Hong Kong, Singapore Changi, Tokyo Narita, Bangkok Don Muang, and Seoul Incheon International Airport. For evaluation of these selected airports, AHP and IPA techniques were applied. Five main factors were defined through a literature review of previous studies: concreteness, convenience, economic efficiency, respondency, and accessability. Hong Kong International Airport had the strongest airport in the Asian region, followed by Incheon International Airport. The least competitive airports were Bangkok and Tokyo Narita International Airport in regards to users' perception for the provision of services at the airport.

  • Although the current evaluation system has been revised four times since it was revised in 1996, it is insufficient to utilize it as a basis for predicting the performance degradation from the long-term viewpoint and prioritization decision for the budget input due to the evaluation system limited to securing the structural safety. Therefore, this study proposes a new evaluation system suitable for the performance evaluation of conventional (ASSM) tunnels among the various types of existing road tunnels using Delphi technique and AHP technique. Since the existing evaluation systems and evaluation items in domestic and overseas are limited in scope of evaluation criteria, the survey was conducted in conjunction with closed questionnaires on existing items and open questionnaires for eliciting new items. The validity of the questionnaire results were verified and the performance evaluation factors suitable for conventional (ASSM) tunnels were derived. After calculating weighted value of the derived evaluation item using AHP technique, a new evaluation system is proposed to meet the characteristics of the ASSM tunnel, so that they can be used as reference materials for revising and supplementing detailed guidelines of performance evaluation in the future.

Exploratory Study on the Critical Success Factor for Medical Tourism (의료관광의 주요성공요인 및 중요도에 관한 연구)

  • Health care has become one of the paramount issues of the 21st century as governments and individuals grapples the complex problems associated with contemporary medical care such as cost, affordability, and shifting demographic trends. The purpose of this study was to develop the critical success factors of medical tourism for health-care organizations and to measure the wights of these factors. For this purpose, we gathered the data from doctors, travelling agencies and scholars. about the success factors of medical tourism. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was carried out to determine the factors as the Critical Success Factors of medical tourism. We did also the research to evaluate the validity and reliability of these factors. After that the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied to analyze the weight and significances among these factors. Factor analysis resulted in 15 major factors (Eigenvalue > 1.0). The AHP analysis showed the list of Critical Success Factors weighted by its significance priorities. The recommendable degree of reliability and validity suggests that these factors could be the valuable refences for the policy making process of the medical tourism in Korea.

Analysis on Preferred Element on Constructing Creative Play Space Design (창의적 놀이 공간 구축을 위한 디자인 선호 요소 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the various perspectives that children can provide by utilizing specific physical spaces for play, and to study how to effectively apply them to surrounding spaces and environments. AHP was used to analyze the preferred elements for effectively designing a play area. The main keywords were derived through case studies of various domestic and foreign play space designs, and each keyword was grouped and a keyword of a higher concept was derived. The results of the comparison of 14 keywords that were finally drawn using AHP for each element were used to derive the priority for the preferred elements. As a result, preference was derived in the order of "Openness", "Safety", and "Diversity" in the morphological properties of the play space, and "Adventure", "Five senses elements", "Visual elements" and "Interactivity" in the content properties of the play space.

A Study on Priority of Policy for Smart Farming System Using AHP Approach (스마트 팜 보급 확대를 위한 정책수단의 우선순위 결정)

  • This study was conducted to investigate policy priority with respect to development of a smart farming system. Professors, researchers and policy makers in related fields were surveyed to develop a long-term plan and improved direction for the smart farming system, and the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) was used for analysis. Overall, 61 experts in the frontiers of the field were surveyed and 42 questionnaires were analyzed. The results showed that the most important factors influencing development plans are increasing the income of farmers, minimizing management costs and standardizing and localizing smart farming systems. However, some plans differ with respect to economic and technology factors; therefore, those things should be analyzed in more detail by experts.
