An Adaptive Fuzzy Current Controller with Neural Network For Field-Oriented Controller Induction Machine

  • Recently, the development of novel control methodology enables us to improve the performance of AC-machine drives by using pulse width modulation (PWM) technique. Usually, the dynamic characteristic of induction motor (IM) has been represented by the 5-th order nonlinear differential equation. This dynamics, however, can be reduced to 3-rd order dynamics by applying direct control of IM input current. This methodology concludes that it is much easier to control IM by means of the field-oriented methods employing the current controller. Therefore a precise current control is crucial to achieve a high control performance both in dynamic and steady state operations. This paper presents an adaptive fuzzy current controller with artificial neural network (ANN) for field-oriented controlled IM. This new control structure is able to adaptively minimize a current ripple while maintaining constant switching frequency. Especially the proposed controller employs neuro-computing philosophy as well as adaptive learning pattern recognizing principles with respect to variations of the system parameters. The proposed approach is applied to the IM drive system, and its performance is tested through various simulations. Simulation results show that the proposed system, compared among several known classical methods, has a superb performance.

  • This Paper deals with a Auto-Tuning Fuzzy PID Controller used in real time and its application for induction motor. The control strategy of the controller is able to develop and improve automatically. The new Auto-Tuning Fuzzy PID Control algorithm which modifies the fuzzy control decision table is presented in this paper. It can automatically refine an initial approximate set of fuzzy rules. The possibility of applying fuzzy algorithms in faster response, and more accurate was compared with other industrial processes, such as AC Motor driver. The performance of Proportional_Integral Derivative(PID) control and this fuzzy controllers is compared in terms of steady_state error, settling time, and response time. And then, Limitations of fuzzy control algorithms are also described.

  • In this paper, we dealt with a partial discharge (PD) measurement method that has been accepted as an effective and non-destructive technique to estimate insulation performance of low-voltage induction motors. The PD measurement system consists of a coupling network, a low noise amplifier, and associated electronics. A shielded box was used to reduce environmental noise. Frequency characteristic of the coupling network was estimated by a sinusoidal signal input, and the low cut-off frequency of the coupling network was 1 MHz (-3 dB). Also, we carried out a calibration test for the PD measurement system. Sensitivity of the system was of 84 m$V_{max}$/pC between stator winding and enclosure. In application test on a low-voltage three phase induction motor (5 HP), we could detect 88 pC at AC 800 $V_{max}$.

  • This paper presents a study on the indirect FOC (field oriented control) of induction motor using TMS320F240. This DSP has become possible to design and implement a highly efficient and accurate AC induction drive control. This paper describes a pulse width modulator based on the voltage space vectors technique that accepts voltage demands in dq coordinates and generates three-phase PWM waveforms to drive a variable frequency voltage-source inverter. The Current Model lock is added to generate the rotor flux angular speed.

  • It is difficult to realize the complicate SUM which is applied vector control system, but widely used in AC motor vector motor control system or servo control system because of its high performance in current control. In this paper, we use the dynamic characteristic analyzing methode that can calculate efficiently the end effect by using equivalent circuit methode in the operating SLIM system modeling and doing simulation of output characteristics of vector controller.

최적의 모터 제어 및 겉표지 자동 투입 기능을 적용한 접착식 무선 제본기 설계 (Design of adhesive wireless bookbinding machine with optimal motor control and automatic cover insertion)

  • 본 논문에서는 모든 지식산업분야에서 기록 및 발췌된 자료들을 모아 보관이 용이하도록 도서 제본을 목적으로 하는 최적의 모터 제어 및 겉표지 자동 투입 기능을 적용한 접착식 무선 제본기를 설계하고자 한다. 접착식 무선 제본기의 소음 개선을 위해 기기의 동력을 기존 컴프레셔 방식에서 AC 인덕션 모터 제어 방식으로 변경하였으며 작업 속도향상을 위해 겉표지 자동 투입 기능을 적용하였다. 또한, 모터 제어 시 가장 큰 문제점인 모터의 정 역회전 중에 발생하는 급제동과 급가속 반복으로 인한 모터 및 감속기 파손 현상을 방지하기 위해 완충식 공간 위치 제어 시스템을 구현하여 모터의 안정적 동작과 내구성을 보장하였다. 이 외에도 제본기 간소화를 위해 복잡한 내부 구조를 단순화하고 부피와 무게를 감소시켰다. 따라서, 본 기기 설계 후 실험값을 측정 한 결과 소음은 기존 135dB에서 71.7dB로 약 57% 감소되었으며 작업 시간은 기존 18sec에서 9.58sec로 약 57% 단축되었다. 그리고 겉표지 자동 투입구는 1회 공급 시 최대 130매까지 공급이 가능하도록 설계하였다.

  • For high performance ac drives, the speed sensorless vector control and a speed control algorithm base on the Fuzzy PI controller have received increasing attention. A Fuzzy PI controller is used for robust and fast speed control and space vector modulation method is used for PWM wave generation in this proposed system. The computer simulation results show that the proposed controller are more excellent control characteristics than conventional PI controller in transient-state response.

  • The AC drive systems of a voltage source inverter and an induction motor. The inverter non linearity caused by the turn on/off time dependency of the current level in the switching IGBT is described in the first part of this paper. To improve the low-speed drive characteristics, accurate applied voltage calculation is proposed under considerations of the compensations for the quantization error in the digital controller, the forward voltage drop of switching drives and the dead time of the inverter. The experimental studies show the improved drive characteristics.

  • 디지털 제어 방식으로 구동되는 모든 교류 전동기 벡터제어시스템의 근간을 이루는 전류 측정에 관한 문제를 다룬다. 일반적인 펄스폭 변조 방식 교류 전동기 구동 시스템에서 전동기 전류에 포함된 인버터 스위칭 노이즈를 없애기 위하여 저역 통과 필터를 사용하는데 이러한 필터는 필연적으로 측정된 신호의 시간 지연을 유발하게 된다. 따라서 샘플링한 전류값에는 기본파 성분 뿐만아니라 고조파 리플 성분이 포함된다. 본 논문에서는 3상 대칭 펄스폭 변조시 기준 전압 벡터의 위치에 다른 전류 샘플링 오차를 해석적으로 구하고 이러한 샘플링 오차를 최소화하기 위한 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 지연 보상 샘플링 기법을 사용하면 정상 상태 전류 측정 오차를 최소화할 수 있고 보다 정확한 토오크 제어가 가능하게 됨을 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 보였다.

Design and Implementation of Modified Current Source Based Hybrid DC - DC Converters for Electric Vehicle Applications

  • In this study, we present the modern hybrid system based power generation for electric vehicle applications. We describe the hybrid structure of modified current source based DC - DC converters used to extract the maximum power from Photovoltaic (PV) and Fuel Cell system. Due to reduced dc-link capacitor requirement and higher reliability, the current source inverters (CSI) better compared to the voltage source based inverter. The novel control strategy includes Distributed Maximum Power Point Tracking (DMPPT) for photovoltaic (PV) and fuel cell power generation system. The proposed DC - DC converters have been analyzed in both buck and boost mode of operation under duty cycle 0.5>d, 0.5<d<1 and 0.5<d for capable electric vehicle applications. The proposed topology benefits include one common DC-AC inverter that interposes the generated power to supply the charge for the sharing of load in a system of hybrid supply with photovoltaic panels and fuel cell PEM. An improved control of Direct Torque and Flux Control (DTFC) based induction motor fed by current source converters for electric vehicle.In order to achieve better performance in terms of speed, power and miles per gallon for the expert, to accepting high regenerative braking current as well as persistent high dynamics driving performance is required. A simulation model for the hybrid power generation system based electric vehicle has been developed by using MATLAB/Simulink. The Direct Torque and Flux Control (DTFC) is planned using Xilinx ISE software tool in addition to a Modelsim 6.3 software tool that is used for simulation purposes. The FPGA based pulse generation is used to control the induction motor for electric vehicle applications. FPGA has been implemented, in order to verify the minimal error between the simulation results of MATLAB/Simulink and experimental results.
