The shift in the perspective on learning as participation draws attention to learners' identity work. This manuscript foregrounds the ongoing and fluid processes of identity, and focuses on the structure surrounding learners where identity work occurs and the expression of individual agency. From the perspective of learning as participation, we introduce Holland et al. (1998) identity-in-practice theory, as the theoretical lens that dialectically describes structure, agency and identity. The concepts representing this theory are 'figured world', 'positionality' and 'authoring self'. The figured world is a web of meaning encompassing the continuous construct/reconstruct through human actions and also exerts as the social force that shapes human actions. 'Positionality' on the other hand, means an understanding of one's social position in the world. The notion of 'authoring self', is a dimension that synthesizes the above two concepts, which describes the improvisation of one's self through the orchestration and collaboration of various social voices. Next, we analyzed and described various cases of this theory that we found within the scope of science education. However, due to the nature of this theory, which takes a sociocultural approach, international research studies cannot be simply applied to the Korean context. Therefore, we sought to expand the applicability of this theory as a methodological tool, by discussing the directions in which this theory can be used in a domestic context. It is intended that the introduction of this theory, which emphasizes multi-layered, continuous and cumulative identity work, will be used as a resource to further expand the horizon of science education reform that is required for the times.

In this study, we consider the integration of cognitive components and emotion to account for communication behaviors and activism on a consumer advocacy website. The challenge of integrating situational theory and anger activism model was empirically explored utilizing an online survey with the members of the virtual community, which was designed to raise issues and to protest against the product defects of a product. Our findings indicated that along with the cognitive perception in the situational theory, anger as a negative emotion was the most significant predictor strongly associated with communication behaviors and activism on the organization. More interestingly, the model that integrates anger with cognitive components significantly improves its explanatory power compared with one including only cognitive components as explanatory variables.

The purpose of this study is to suggest theoretical basis of touch point analysis model in terms of an integrated marketing communications using one specific case study. Results of previous studies have shown several weaknesses. However, this study was carried out to overcome such a weakness. In order to perform this case study, one specific MP3 player was chosen with a market situation analysis. Compared to previous practical situation, the results of this study should be improved in that this model suggested a theoretical basis dealing with synergy effects as well as a correct understanding in consumer's purchase process. Based on the outcome of this study, we hope to see other similar studies which can be of help to the practical efficiency in integrated marketing communication.

In the analysis of impulsive response of plate, Lagrange's theory, Reissner's theory and Mindlin's theory are generally used. But, in applying these theories the impulsive stresses directly underneath the concentrated impact point cannot be analyzed because the solution fails to converge. In this paper, therefore, an attempt for a supported square plate is made by using three-dimensional dynamic theory of elasticity on the supposition that the uniform distributed load acts on the central part of it. In order to clarify the validity of theoretical analysis, the strain variations are measured experimentally for a square glass plate. Finally it is shown that these theoretical results are in close agreement with the experimental results.

This study analyzes the dispute settlement of between arbitration and litigation using a game theoretical approach. Many studies on arbitration have so far focused on the relevant institutions. However, there are few theoretical studies that have focused on the demand side of arbitration. The model presented here suggests conditions under which arbitration form a perfect Bayesian Nash equilibrium, provided that the players strategically choose a dispute settlement tool. Furthermore, the suggested model is used to analyze simple cases of international commercial dispute cases.

The purpose of this study is to review the theories and cases of performance sharing in the franchise industry to present a method for more effective franchise performance-sharing. To that end, this study reviewed the theory on resource dependence and the theory on inequality to describe the performance-sharing between the franchisor and the franchisee and their relationship. It also looked at the cases of a week-in cooler system at 'Beer Market', the allocation of fees for alcoholic beverage sales to franchisees, the scholarship program of 'Onigiri and Ikyudon' and 'Bonsamo' which is a franchisees' committee for Bonjuk to introduce examples of performance-sharing. Through a theoretical review and case review, this study presents five types of methods for performance-sharing. First, 'the sharing of core competence by the franchise company; second, 'the establishment of a royalty culture'; third, 'scientific analysis of markets and establishment of a revenue forecast system'; fourth, 'reinforced financial support from the franchisor'; and lastly, 'the positive application of franchisees' committees'. Such methods are expected to provide a groundwork for mutual benefit and co-prosperity between franchisor and franchisee.

In this study, the failure prediction of composite laminates under flexural loading is investigated. A FEA(finite element analysis) using 2D strain-based interactive failure theory. A pregressive failure analysis was applied to FEA for stiffness degradation with failure mode each layer. A three-point bending test based on the ASTM D790 are performed for cross-ply $[0/90]_8$ and quasi-isotropic $[0/{\pm}45/90]_{2s}$ laminated composites. The accuracy of the applied failure theory is verified with the experimental results and other failure criteria such as maximum strain, maximum stress and Tsai-Wu theories.
