The practical problem is 'what should the ideal portrait of a human being pursuing in home economics education with a critical science perspective be?' was addressed through a practical reasoning research method with the stages of valued ends, context, alternatives, consequence, and a final plan. The sequential flow of understanding values and contexts established the setting of three valued ends by organizing issues and categorized areas of individuals, families, society, and cultural from a critical science perspective. The ideal portrait of human being was specifically stated, in the self-formation, independent, inter-subjectivity, social participation, and enculturation according to subcategories; in addition, the stated ideal portrait of human being was modified through expert consultations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of human capital and social capital on the economic well-being of the elderly. The data from the 1st wave of KLoSA (Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging) were used (n=3,426). The major findings were as follows: First, human capital and social capital are both resources that can contribute to increasing the economic well-being of the elderly. Second, the effects of human capital on the economic well-being of the elderly were relatively higher than the effects of social capital. Third, the relative contributions of human capital and social capital to increasing economic well-being varied by sex, age, and region. Based on the empirical results, the implications for social investment in human capital and social capital were provided.

  • Religious Though includes desirable attitudes towards existence of human beings and the value of life. These can be considered as the viewpoint of human being in religions. Also, the recognition frame of human being should be focused on the desirable human formation. That is, human being should not be viewed by already established frames, but human beings should be regarded as the ones that by themselves can build their true figures through developing human nature with the self-awareness of existence and the effort for establishing an ideal character. Without the correct concept of a 'human model', it is impossible to shed light on what the process of the human formation is and how the human formation willbe established. A 'human model', that is the goal of such a formation, might show different aspects if considering the historical situations including the circumstance of individuals and society. However, no matter how different 'human model', which are dependent upon phenomenal problems, are considered, it might most likely fails to grasp a fundamental issue without a 'human model' based on the essential problem of human being. In this regards, it can be considered that a 'Perfect person' with including both fundamental ways and relations of existence is the one enabling to establish a true 'human model' and, I try to show its striking example, 'Injon' that is an ideal 'human model' of Daesoon Thought. Therefore, this paper will show the interpretation and understanding of human beings in Daesoon Thought, and examine what their meanings are.

  • The change of digital technology caused not only the whole human life but also the change of a thinking form and an expression method of human beings. Also, the interactive communication structure became to form in space structure, and space users also get changed to an active system. The interaction between a human being and space, which uses digital media as a medium, makes a human being experience sensitivity through a cognitive process of a human being. The present research aimed to find out characteristics and expression of emotional space applied with digital technology based on the relationship between media space and cognitive functioning and to realize new emotional space. The research method was to define on digital media and experience by cognition of a human being through a literature research and a precedent research and to consider on approach to emotional space through experience of a cognition process like this. Based on the theory like this, the present research progressed by focusing on dramatized characteristics of experience in the digital media space and emotional space expression by induced characteristics. Through the analysis like this, the space applied with digital media could appear as a field of communication that can experience by forming mutual relation through perception of a human being. Additionally, the space induces active participation of a human being through various productions of media and responds to movement, and thus, this suggested infinite possibility as emotional space that can try new experience by stimulating a sense as effect of a cognitive process of a human being.

  • In order to concludes that human being is in the making, not a being already perfectly made, this paper goes through four steps. The first step raises a question that human being is only a being of reason. The Kant's assertion that human being has a moral capacity of 'good will' seems to be distorted portrait of human being. The second step calls into a question that human being can obey universal moral laws. Any universal moral law can't be obeyed by moral agent, because he can't exclude his external situations which are ceaselessly changing. Nevertheless imperatives of reason which require to obey the universal moral laws seems to be a 'unfortunate legacy' to human being. The third step demonstrates that imperatives of reason are originated from dualism which have dichotomize "mind vs. body" as "internal capacity vs. external situation". According to dualism, imperatives of reason require internal capacity to exclude emotions or desires which are sensitive to external influences. The fourth step discusses that interacting of inner and outer is to be necessary for human being. Then, reason is to be really in one glove with emotions which are beginning form externals, otherwise reason can't stop being powerless to any external situation. Concludingly any human being is to be processing to a new being, not situating any extreme antagonism of "reason vs. emotion". Because of emotional human animal, not a perfect god, humans being is in the ceaseless process into the making a new self.

  • As people's living standard is being improved, human works are being replaced by robots. However, because roost robots are used in process industry, fixed on the ground, we need to develop human robots that have wide applications. Currently many researches are being conducted on human robots with the object of replacing human works, but because of lack of relevant hardware, such robots are being applied limitedly to very simple tasks. To overcome the limitation, the present study developed a kinematical mechanism and a controller. Based on human kinematics, the shoulders and the arms were composed of master arms with 3 degree of freedom, and we reproduced motions similar to human ones through the characteristics of joint variables and experiment on the trajectory of the end effector.

This paper was reviewed to discover Korean behavior pattern through the concept of the human being in Korean traditional thoughts to keep in pace with above idea and develope the stem of the nursing knowledge. Behavior pattern usually has two aspects, the one is unconscious behavior which conform to old custom and the other is conscious one which abide by a conventional rule. The former was considered through the concept of human being in Tan-kun mythodology, Divination, Tong-hak (Cheondoism) and the latter was Buddism, Confucianism, Sung-ri hak (Human nature and natural Laws), Sil-hak (The rule of Heaven philosophy). Through these traditional thoughts, we can lead Humanity, Present-oriented, Family-focused, Ranking-centered, Fatalism, Projection in Korean behavior pattern and unconscious behavior correspond to the Naturalistic human being, conscious to Societic human being as well. Even though Korean behavior patterns were changed to the times, we found that Korean natural characteristics were remained in the of unconscious-conscious behavior. This point must be considered for caring a client better than anything else in our nursing situiation.

  • This paper aims to explore how to help terminally ill patients and their families find meaning in their suffering from the logotherapeutic perspective, which is the essence of palliative care. For this purpose, this paper examines the main concepts and principles of logotherapy, and specific approaches based on the logotherapeutic perspective to help terminally ill patients and their families find meaning in life are presented. Emphasizing the will to meaning as the primary motive to explain human behaviors and based on its unique perspective of the human being, which is called the dimensional ontology, logotherapy considers the human being to consist of the body, the mind, and the spirit. The dimensional ontology implies that the human being "has" the body and the mind, but the human being "is" the spirit itself. Therefore, even though a human being can be sick physically or psychologically, Accordingly, it is essential to help these patients realize that they are not their illnesses, but just have them, and to rise above themselves to reach out toward something meaningful or someone to love; despite their suffering, they can still do something meaningful, even in a small way. Above all, the most important thing for these patients is to acknowledge that they have already lived a meaningful life and to believe that their meaningful work has been safely preserved in the past and nothing can take it from them, for as spiritual beings, their lives have been meaningful unconditionally.
