TPM 을 기반으로 한 혁신활동과 6시그마의 상관관계 고찰 (The Relationship between TPM and 6-Sigma)

  • The Six-Sigma is now common word as a management innovation in every business. Many companies have practiced to the TPM in Korea. These companies have regarded the Six-Sigma as a new approach or redundant strategy for management. This paper suggests a model which contains how to unite TPM and Six-sigma to make a big synergy effect for the company which is on developing of TPM. This model based upon SAMSUNG CORNING as a process industry.

  • The international SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability determination) Project ISO/IEC 15504(SPICE : Software Process Improvement and Capability determination) is an emerging International Standard on SPA(Software Process Assessment). A prime motivation for developing this standard has been the perceived need for an internationally recognized software process assessment framework that pulls together the existing public and proprietary models and methods. A SPICE assessment can be considered as one of representative SPA model since assessors assign ratings to indicators and metrics to measure the capability of software process. But this models doesn't provide a systematic measurement procedures and dynamic method for SPI(Software Process Improvement). Through the evaluation of SPICE is capable of providing a substantiated basis for using the notion of capability, as well as providing information for nacessary improvements to the standard using 6sigma process. As a result, this paper propose a measurement procedure and guidelines for application of 6sigma process to guarantee the reliability in SPI and suggest the structure to support SPI on overall organization.

  • This paper is concerned with a six sigma application to non-manufacturing process. Based on the comparison to manufacturing process, non-manufacturing process has some specific characteristics. The main focus of this study is to introduce an empirical case study on the implementation of DMAIC procedures for non-manufacturing process. We use a simple and practical road map which consists of 13 steps. Some fundamental rules for DMAIC implementation in six sigma projects are also introduced.

  • System is the organization of hardware, software, personnel and facilities needed to perform a designated function within a stated environment with specified results. The trend of modern systems is getting more complex and larger. The system is necessary for modern society but the minor malfunction of the system can result the enormous human and material losses. Recently it is being heightened the concern for system safety and required to be built and applied Safety Engineering standard Guideline for safety of complex and large-sized system. This paper describes the System Engineering Process model integrated with Safety Engineering and the establishment of standard safety guidelines for safety of product development using DMADOV Methodology of the Lean 6 Sigma.

  • More than three years have passed since Korean companies introduced Six-Sigma. Each company used a lot of quality improvement tools for years. However, the tools have been taught to the companies with a little understanding of Six sigma tools. Therefore, it is difficult to use the tools correctly at appropriate time. This survey paper was conducted on MBBs and BBs of the manufacturing companies that introduced Six-Sigma. It is intended, in this paper, to provide the companies that will be introduce Six-Sigma a guideline of training course and tools by understanding the importance of each DMAIC stage of Six-Sigma, examining the frequently used tools in each process and their performances, and selecting the key tools for each stage based on the result of this survey.

  • Six Sigma has been disseminated into a variety of areas. It is believed that a stepwise understanding of Six Sigma's DMAIC is required for successes of unit projects. Meanwhile, infra-structure factors, such as leadership, organization, personnel management, educational system, etc., are also important to safely implant the Six Sigma into the whole enterprise and to thoroughly create the culture of innovation and enterprise. Careful analysis of those elements makes it possible to draw common connection between Project Management and the Six Sigma. This study drives the success elements for the successful adoption of the Six Sigma in the Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., of which management was evaluated as one of the tops based on the results of 2007 Management Innovation Assessment and arranges the similarity of like this factor and Enterprise Project Management. The results of this study are expected to provide a useful guideline for the adoption of the Six Sigma in whole company level.

  • Recently, six sigma has been widely adopted in a variety of industries as a disciplined, data-driven problem solving approach or methodology supported by a handful of powerful statistical tools in order to reduce variation through continuous process improvement. Also, data mining has been widely used to discover unknown knowledge from a large volume of data using various modeling techniques such as neural network, decision tree, regression analysis, etc. This paper proposes a six sigma methodology based on data mining for effectively and efficiently processing massive data in driving six sigma projects. The proposed methodology is applied in the hot stove system which is a major energy-consuming process in a "P" steel company for improvement of heat efficiency through reduction of energy consumption. The results show optimal operation conditions and reduction of the hot stove energy cost by 15%.

  • This paper presents a six sigma application case study for an automobile steering wheel manufacturing process using rolled throughput yield improvement activity. Hidden factory and first pass yield concept is introduced and a DMAIC procedure is implemented to maximize the first pass yield. The result of the six sigma project amounts to the reduction of failure cost of 1.2 billion won per year in the steering wheel manufacturing process. This paper can benefit six sigma practitioners in some ways.

  • Samsung, recognized as a global leading company, has huge and complex supply chain structures and has been improving them continuously for its fast-growing global businesses. SCM 6 Sigma is the state-of-the-art methodology developed through a combination of SCM innovation concepts accumulated from SCM Business Group in Samsung SDS and 6 Sigma which has successfully settled down as the management innovation tool for many companies in Samsung. The ultimate goal of SCM 6 Sigma is to train and develop future supply chain leaders who are more capable of leading SCM innovations. By leveraging the established 6 Sigma Belt System, Samsung aims to alleviate a shortage of SCM talents that has been a bottleneck in improving SCM performances at its group companies. This explains why SCM 6 Sigma is created. SCM 6 Sigma is the unique and critical component for Samsung to implement its various strategies for continuous improvement of its operations at a higher level of effectiveness and systematically as well. In return on these efforts, many SCM innovation projects have been successfully executed through SCM 6 Sigma up to today. In this paper, we introduce the methodology and explain the business rationale behind it together with its deployment case.

  • 6시그마 프로젝트 관리 시스템은 6시그마 추진기업의 지식경영 시스템으로 활용되어 왔지만 벨트의 프로젝트 관리 시스템 활용이 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구는 전무한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구는 6시그마 프로젝트 관리시스템의 활용이 프로젝트 균형 성과지표에 미치는 영향을 구조방정식 모형을 통해 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구 자료의 결과에 의하면 프로젝트 시스템의 활용은 6시그마 프로젝트 학습과 성장관점에 영향을 미치고, 학습과 성장 관점은 내부 프로세스 관점과 고객관점에 영향을 미치는 결과로 나타났다. 내부 프로세스는 고객관점 지표에 영향을 미치고 고객관점 지표는 재무성과에 영향을 미치는 분석의 결과가 도출되었다. 내부 프로세스는 재무성과에 직접적인 인과관계가 없는 것으로 귀결되었다. 연구모형과 더불어 대안모형 분석이 추가로 이루어졌는데 연구모형이 대안모형보다 모형 적합도에서 나은 것으로 나타났다.
