  • The subjects of this study on the effects of mother's personality on her childrearing behaviors were 1060 mothers and their $5^{th}$ grade children. Results indicated that maternal childrearing behaviors were related to her personality traits. The effects of mother's personality on her childrearing behaviors varied by sex of child, reporter (mother/child), and childrearing behavior factors. Mother-reported childrearing behaviors correlated more highly with her personality than child-reported behaviors. Behaviors reported by girls provided higher correlations between mother's personality and childrearing dimensions than reports by boys. Mother's personality traits showed differential correlations with childrearing dimensions of Rejection-Restriction (R R) and Warmth-Acceptance (W A) by reporter and sex of child. R R was affected by mother's Impulsiveness more among girls than among boys. Maternal Superiority increased W A toward boys while maternal Responsibility increased W A toward girls.

  • This study attempted to explore how the perception of the necessity of safety education for adolescents affects fire safety consciousness and whether personality factors control the relationship. To this end, a survey was conducted at a high school in region C, and data of 1,049 people who agreed to the survey and responded faithfully were used for analysis. Hayes' macro was used to analyze the moderating effect, and as a result of the analysis, adolescents' awareness of the need for safety education increased, and their relationship was significantly regulated by extroversion, openness, and conscientiousness among the five personality factors. A simple regression line analysis was conducted to find out the specific direction, and it was found that the higher the need for safety education in both the group with high extroversion, openness, and conscientiousness, the higher the awareness of safety education. These results suggest that changes in educational methods and contents are needed to raise awareness of the necessity of education in fire safety education and to improve educational motivation, and that it may be helpful to actively utilize students' personality strengths in education.

A survey was conducted from August 10, 2017 until August 31, 2017, and 400 respondents' survey results were analyzed. For data analysis, SPSS 23.0 was utilized to perform descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, and regression analysis. As a result, five brand personality factors were derived, which are aesthetics, safety/expertise, sophistication, pro-environment, youth, respectively. For advertising model characteristics, seven factors were derived, which are credibility, visibility, attractiveness, expertise, similarity, likeability, and familiarity, respectively. This study investigated the relationship between characteristics of cosmetics advertising model, brand personality, and brand attitude. Brand personality does not play a mediating role between advertising model's characteristics and brand attitude. Advertising model's characteristics have a direct effect on the brand attitude. Consequently, Cosmetics companies should recognize the importance of the characteristics of advertising model and implement the marketing strategy by carefully selecting the advertising model so that consumers can relate the characteristics of advertisement model to the brand attitude which will ultimately lead to positive evaluation of the brand.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to examine risk-accepting personality traits and associated factors among farmers. Methods: Data were collected from farmers aged over 40 living in Goryeong, North Gyeongsang-do Province, Korea. Study participants were enrolled in the Korean Rural Cohort study from 2011 to 2014. Surveys for the risk perception of farming were made through face-to-face interviews. Chi-square tests and logistic regression analysis were conducted adjusting for gender, age, marital status, and education. Results: Several factors such as gender, age, marital status, age first worked as a farmer, duration of farming, and history of pesticide poisoning were associated with risk-accepting personality traits among farmers. Farmers with risk-accepting personalities tend to be older, less educated, and have self-employed health insurance. Farmers who started farming after the age of 50 are likely to be risk averse compared to farmers who started farming before the age of 20 (OR=0.41, 95% CI; 0.21, 0.82). Frequent spraying of pesticides was marginally associated with higher risk acceptance among female farmers (OR=1.61, 95% CI: 0.99, 2.64). Male farmers who had experienced pesticide poisoning in their lifetime showed higher odds of risk-accepting personality traits (OR=2.20, 95% CI: 1.03, 4.72) Conclusion: Risk-acceptors were more likely to spray pesticides frequently and to experience more pesticide poisoning compared to risk-averse individuals. This result suggests that farming hazards are to some degree driven by risk-accepting personality traits. Further investigation of how risk-accepting behaviors influence farming practices and pesticide poisoning is needed.
