  • OADM (optical add-drop multiplexer)과 광트랜시버 (optical transceiver)를 사용하여 1510 nm와 1530 nm 파장을 각각 upload용과 download용으로 사용하여 광선로의 추가적인 포설없이 기존의 광선로를 재활용함으로써 비용 절감효과와 통신용량의 증가 사용자수의 증가 등 다양한 이익을 창출할 수 있다. 먼저 기존의 2개 파장이 지나는 광섬유에 fusion splicer를 이용하여 OADM을 부착하고, 1510 nm 와 1530 nm 파장을 DFB (distributed feedback) LD (laser diode) 와 tunable LD를 사용하여 파장의 변화를 관찰하였다. 이때 광통신 시 발생하는 감쇠 및 손실 특성을 알아보았으며 광트랜시버의 핵심부품중 하나인 LNA (low noise amplifier)를 balanced 타입으로 직접 제작하여 network analyzer로 측정한 결과 각각의 S$_{11}$, S$_{21}$, S$_{22}$는 -19.98 dB, 11.5 dB, -20.02 dB의 값이 얻어졌다.다.

IMT-2000 중계기용 전대역 저잡음 증폭기 설계 (The Design of Low Noise Amplifier for Overall IMT-2000 Band Repeater)

  • IMT-2000 전 대역(1920∼2170MHz, BW=250MHz)에서 사용되는 중계기용 2단 저잡음 증폭기를 설계하였다. Ansoft사의 Serenade를 이용하여 첫째 단 PHEMT의 소스와 접지간 source lead의 인덕턴스 값을 최적화하여 기판 선고로 등가화하고, 첫째 단의 잡음 정합은 물론 각 단의 정합회로가 간단하도록 high pass 구조로 설계하였다. 바이어스 회로는 단일 능동회로로 구성하였고, 인가전압은 8V, 총 전류는 180mA이다. 이때, 첫째 단 PHEMT의 Vgs = -0.4V, Vds = 4V이고, 둘째 단 AH1의 Vds = 5V이다. 상업화가 가능하도록 설계 기준을 정하여 제작되었고, 측정 결과 이득은 20dB, NF는 1dB, 입력 VSWR은 1.14∼l.3dB, P1dB는 22.4dBm, gain flatness는 ±0.45dB로 상업용 저잡음 증폭기로 사용될 수 있다.

Anti-inflammatory effects of a novel compound, MPQP, through the inhibition of IRAK1 signaling pathways in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages

  • Small-molecule inhibitors are widely used to treat a variety of inflammatory diseases. In this study, we found a novel anti-inflammatory compound, 1-[(2R,4S)-2-methyl-4-(phenylamino)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-1-yl]prop-2-en-1-one (MPQP). It showed strong anti-inflammatory effects in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. These effects were exerted through the inhibition of the production of NO and pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin (IL)-6, $IL-1{\beta}$, and tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$ ($TNF-{\alpha}$). Furthermore, MPQP decreased the expression levels of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2). Additionally, it mediated the inhibition of the phosphorylation of p38, c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), the inhibitor of ${\kappa}B{\alpha}$ ($I{\kappa}B{\alpha}$), and their upstream kinases, $I{\kappa}B$ kinase (IKK) ${\alpha}/{\beta}$, mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MKK) 3/6, and MKK4. Furthermore, the expression of IL-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK1) that regulates $NF-{\kappa}B$, p38, and the JNK signaling pathways, was also increased by MPQP. These results indicate that MPQP regulates the IRAK1-mediated inflammatory signaling pathways by targeting IRAK1 or its upstream factors.

초 저전력 CMOS 2.4 GHz 저잡음 증폭기 설계 (Design of an Ultra Low Power CMOS 2.4 GHz LNA)

  • 본 논문에서는 2.4 GHz 대역에 적용할 수 있는 초 저전력 저잡음 증폭기를 TSMC 0.18 ${\mu}m$ RF CMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계하였다. 높은 이득과 낮은 전력 소모를 만족하기 위해서 전류 재사용 기법을 사용하였으며, subthreshold 영역에서 문턱 전압보다 낮은 바어이스 전압을 인가함으로써 초 저전력 특성을 구현하였다. 설계된 저잡음 증폭기는 2.4 GHz에서 13.8 dB의 전압 이득과 3.4 dB의 잡음 지수 특성을 나타냈으며, 0.9 V의 공급 전압으로 0.7 mA의 전류를 소모하여 0.63 mW의 초 저전력을 소모하는 결과를 얻었다. 칩 면적은 $1.1\;mm{\times}0.8\;mm$이다.

Dielectric and Magnetic Properties of Co-doped Ni0.65Zn0.35Fe2O4 Thin Films Prepared by Using a Sol-gel Method

  • $Ni_{0.65}Zn_{0.35}Fe_2O_4$thin films were prepared by using a sol-gel method. Their crystallographic, dielectric and magnetic properties were investigated as a function of Cu contents by means of an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), X-ray reflectivity, LCZ meter (NF2232), a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and an atomic force microscope (AFM). From typical C-V measurements for $Ni_{0.65}Zn_{0.35}Fe_2O_4$ thin films on p-type silicon substrate, the surface charge density was calculated as 1.4 ${\mu}$C/$m^2$. The dielectric constant evaluated from the capacitance at the accumulation state was 28. The high $H_{c}$ and low $M_{sat}$ at x=0.0 and 0.1 were due to the growth of the ${\alpha}$-$Fe_2O_3$ phase having antiferromagnetic properties. The rapidly decreased $H_{c}$ and increased $M_{sat}$ at x=0.2 and 0.3 can be explained that the ${\alpha}$-$Fe_2O_3$ phases have completely disappeared at x=0.3 and so, non-magnetic defects are minimized. The $M_{sat}$ was slightly decreased and the $H_{c}$ was increased above at x=0.3 because the increase of grain boundary due to smaller grain size acts as defects during magnetization process.

Anti-Inflammatory Effect of 3-Bromo-4,5-Dihydroxybenzaldehyde, a Component of Polysiphonia morrowii, In Vivo and In Vitro

  • 3-Bromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (BDB) is a natural bromophenol compound that is most commonly isolated from red algae. The present study was designed to investigate the anti-inflammatory properties of BDB on atopic dermatitis (AD) in mice induced by 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) and on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated murine macrophages. BDB treatment (100 mg/kg) resulted in suppression of the development of AD symptoms compared with the control treatment (induction-only), as demonstrated by reduced immunoglobulin E levels in serum, smaller lymph nodes with reduced thickness and length, a decrease in ear edema, and reduced levels of inflammatory cell infiltration in the ears. In RAW 264.7 murine macrophages, BDB (12.5, 25, 50, and $100{\mu}M$) suppressed the production of interleukin-6, a proinflammatory cytokine, in a dose-dependent manner. BDB also had an inhibitory effect on the phosphorylation of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-${\kappa}B$) and signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1; Tyr 701), two major signaling molecules involved in cellular inflammation. Taken together, the results show that BDB treatment alleviates inflammatory responses in an atopic dermatitis mouse model and RAW 264.7 macrophages. These results suggest that BDB may be a useful therapeutic strategy for treating conditions involving allergic inflammation such as atopic dermatitis.

Global Warming Gas Emission during Plasma Cleaning Process of Silicon Nitride Using C-C$_4$F$_8$O Feed Gas with Additive $N_2$

  • In this work, the cyclic perfluorinated ether (c-C$_4$F$_{8}$O) with very high destructive removal efficiency (DRE) than other alternative gases, such as $C_3$F$_{8}$, c-C$_4$F$_{8}$ and NF$_3$ was used as an alternative process chemical. The plasma cleaning of silicon nitride using gas mixtures of c-C$_4$F$_{8}$O/O$_2$ and c-C$_4$F$_{8}$O/O$_2$+ $N_2$ was investigated in order to evaluate the effects of adding $N_2$ to c-C$_4$F$_{8}$O/O$_2$ on the global warming effects. Under optimum condition, the emitted net perfluorocompounds (PFCs) during cleaning of silicon nitride were quantified and then the effects of additive $N_2$ by obtaining the destructive removal efficiency (DRE) and the million metric tons of carbon equivalent (MMT-CE) were calculated. DRE and MMTCE were obtained by evaluating the volumetric emission using. Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). During the cleaning using c-C$_4$F$_{8}$O/O$_2$+$N_2$, DRE values as high as (equation omitted) 98% were obtained and MMTCE values were reduced by as high as 70% compared to the case of $C_2$F$_{6}$O$_2$. Recombination characteristics were indirectly investigated by combining the measurements of species in the chamber using optical emission spectroscopy (OES), before and after the cleaning, in order to understand any correlation between plasma and emission characteristics as well as cleaning rate of silicon nitride.silicon nitride.

항염증 및 항산화 활성 보유 유용 식물 탐색 (Screening of Useful Plants with Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Activity)

  • 본 연구는 식물자원을 재료로 하여 in vitro 항염증 및 항산화 활성을 분석함으로써 기능성소재로의 활용 가능성이 있는 유망 후보자원을 발굴하고자 수행하였다. 이를 위해 식물추출물 38종을 대상으로 세포증식에 대한 영향, 염증 관련지표(nitric oxide, TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-6, $I{\kappa}B{\alpha}$, iNOS, COX-2) 및 항산화항목(DPPH 라디칼 소거능, LDL 산화저해능) 및 총페놀 함량에 대한 효과를 탐색하고 결과로부터 8종의 시료를 1차로 선발하였다. 선발된 8종의 시료에 대해서는 다시 농도별로 세포증식에 대한 효과, iNOS, COX-2의 발현 및 NF-${\kappa}B$ 전사에 대한 영향, peroxynitrite, ROS, nitric oxide 생성에 대한 $IC_{50}$ 값을 분석하여 보다 가능성이 있는 식물을 유망후보자원으로 선발하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 소사나무(가지), 등골나물(잎), 으름(꽃) 및 개모시풀(뿌리)은 항염증 혹은 항산화활성이 우수하나 농도에 따라 세포독성을 나타내었으므로 활용에 주의가 필요해보였으며, 어저귀(잎)은 항염증활성과 항산화활성이 비교적 우수하고 실험된 처리농도에서 세포독성이 없어 향후 in vivo 활성 검정 등 심화연구를 통해 그 활용 가능성을 검토할 필요가 있다고 사료되었다.

Activation of G Proteins by Aluminum Fluoride Enhances RANKL-Mediated Osteoclastogenesis

  • Receptor activator of NF-${\kappa}B$ ligand (RANKL)-induced osteoclastogenesis is accompanied by intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ mobilization in a form of oscillations, which plays essential roles by activating sequentially $Ca^{2+}$/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, calcineurin and NFATc1, necessary in the osteoclast differentiation. However, it is not known whether $Ca^{2+}$ mobilization which is evoked in RANKL-independent way induces to differentiate into osteoclasts. In present study, we investigated $Ca^{2+}$ mobilization induced by aluminum fluoride ($AlF_4^-$), a G-protein activator, with or without RANKL and the effects of $AlF_4^-$ on the osteoclastogenesis in primary cultured mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMMs). We show here that $AlF_4^-$ induces intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ concentration ($[Ca^{2+}]_i$) oscillations, which is dependent on extracellular $Ca^{2+}$ influx. Notably, co-stimulation of $AlF_4^-$ with RANKL resulted in enhanced NFATc1 expression and formation of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) positive multinucleated cells. Additionally, we confirmed that mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) is also activated by $AlF_4^-$. Taken together, these results demonstrate that G-protein would be a novel modulator responsible for $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ oscillations and MAPK activation which lead to enhancement of RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis.

미꾸라지($Misgurnus$ $mizolepis$)와 미꾸리($M.$ $anguillicaudatus$) 및 유도된 종간 잡종의 세포유전학적 연구 (Cytogenetic Analysis of Reciprocal Hybrids Reveals a Robertsonian Translocation between Mud Loach ($Misgurnus$ $mizolepis$) and Cyprinid Loach ($M.$ $anguillicaudatus$))

  • 미꾸라지, 미꾸리 및 상반교배를 통해 유도된 종간 잡종의 세포유전학적 분석을 수행하였다. 미꾸라지와 미꾸리의 염색체 수는 각각 2n=48 (12M+4SM+32A), 2n=50 (10M+4SM+36A)이었고, 잡종군들의 염색체수는 각각 2n=49 (11M+4SM+34A)였다. 모든 그룹의 염색체는 동일한 arm number (NF=64)를 갖고 있었으며, 염색체 다형현상, 암수 간 이형의 염색체는 관찰되지 않았다. 적혈구의 크기, DNA 함량을 분석한 결과 잡종군들은 미꾸라지와 미꾸리의 중간 값을 나타냈다. 염색체의 NORs (nucleolar organizing regions)은 모두 동일한 중부염색체 단완부에서 Ag-positive signal이 나타났다. 이상의 결과는 미꾸라지의 1번 중부 염색체와 미꾸리의 차단부 염색체가 Robertsonian 형의 염색체 전좌 과정을 거쳤을 것을 시사한다.
