  • The developed control valves, installed on the hot water distribution manifolds for the floor heating system, consist of the balancing valves and the shut-off valves. The balancing valve was designed to improve the flow control performance and to reduce the noise emitted from the valve by modification of the general V port. The port of the shut-off valve was designed with two ceramic plates, working by rotating upper plate, to improve the duration and to reduce the noise. For the evaluation of the new valves, the flow rate was measured and noise level test was carried out. The test results showed that the error of the flow rate accuracy test for the flow balance of each manifold circuit was less than ${\pm}3%$ and the noise level was less than 35 dB(A).

  • In the present paper, we introduce the notion of quasi hemi-slant submanifolds of almost Hermitian manifolds and give some of its examples. We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for the distributions to be integrable. We also investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions for these submanifolds to be totally geodesic and study the geometry of foliations determined by the distributions. Finally, we obtain the necessary and sufficient condition for a quasi hemi-slant submanifold to be local product of Riemannian manifold.

  • For a closed symplectic 4-manifold X, let $Diff_0$(X) be the group of diffeomorphisms of X smoothly isotopic to the identity, and let Symp(X) be the subgroup of $Diff_0$(X) consisting of symplectic automorphisms. In this paper we show that for any finitely given collection of positive integers {$n_1$, $n_2$, $\ldots$, $n_k$} and any non-negative integer m, there exists a closed symplectic (or K$\ddot{a}$hler) 4-manifold X with $b_2^+$ (X) > m such that the homologies $H_i$ of the quotient space $Diff_0$(X)/Symp(X) over the rational coefficients are non-trivial for all odd degrees i = $2n_1$ - 1, $\ldots$, $2n_k$ - 1. The basic idea of this paper is to use the local invariants for symplectic 4-manifolds with contact boundary, which are extended from the invariants of Kronheimer for closed symplectic 4-manifolds, as well as the symplectic compactifications of Stein surfaces of Lisca and Mati$\acute{c}$.

  • We prove that a Lorentzian concircular structure (LCS)-manifold does not admit any null hypersurface which is tangential or transversal to its characteristic vector field. Due to the above, we focus on its ascreen null hypersurfaces and show that such hypersurfaces admit a symmetric Ricci tensor. Furthermore, we prove that there are no totally geodesic ascreen null hypersurfaces of a conformally flat (LCS)-manifold.

  • In this paper, we define a totally umbilic hypersurface of first order and show that a totally umbilic hypersurface of first order in an Einstein manifold has a parallel second fundamental form. Furthermore we prove that a complete, simply connected and totally umbilic hypersurface of first order in a space of constant curvature is a Riemannian product of Einstein manifolds. Finally we show a proper example which is a totally umbilic hypersurface of first order but not a totally umbilic hypersurface.

  • We will describe a way to construct Ford domains of cusped hyperbolic 3-manifolds on maximal cusp diagrams and compute fundamental groups using face pairing maps as generators and Cannon-Floyd-Parry's edge cycles as relations. We also describe explicitly a cutting and pasting alteration to reduce the number of faces on the bottom region of Ford domains. We expect that our analysis of Ford domains will be useful on other future research.

  • We construct an infinite family of closed 3-manifolds M(2m+ 1, n, k) which are identification spaces of certain polyhedra P(2m+ 1, n, k), for integers $m\;\ge\;1,\;n\;\ge\;3,\;and\;k\;\ge\;2$. We prove that they are (n / d)- fold cyclic coverings of the 3-sphere branched over certain links $L_{(m,d)}$, where d = gcd(n, k), by handle decomposition of orbifolds. This generalizes the results in [3] and [2] as a particular case m = 2.

  • We investigate the new Clairaut conditions for anti-invariant submersions whose total manifolds are cosymplectic. In particular, we prove the fibers of a proper Clairaut Lagrangian submersion admitting horizontal Reeb vector field are one dimensional and classify such submersions. We also check the existence of the proper Clairaut anti-invariant submersions in the case of the Reeb vector field is vertical. Moreover, illustrative examples for both trivial and proper Clairaut anti-invariant submersions are given.
