  • With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution modern society demands global convergence talent with expertise. The purpose of this study is to suggest the Person-organizational Fit can be enhanced only when university institutions enhance the learning flow and learning interest of Chinese students. Only when the suitability of Chinese students and Univ. is good will it be of great help to the educational performance and administrative management of international students, and the learning atmosphere and university image can be promoted. However, international students with excessive self-efficacy may have a negative effect on Person-organizational Fit to making it difficult to educate and manage students. On the other hand, for international students with low self-efficacy, the higher the immersion in learning, the higher the individual-organization (Univ) suitability.

  • With the government policy on converting contract workers to full-time employees, there have been significant changes about the security personnel at the nation's critical facilities, including the National Assembly Building and airports. Moreover, the scheduled disbandment of the conscripted police force in 2023 has raised concerns about security management at different government agencies. To examine the college students' perceptions on the possible alternatives to fill the expected security gap, 234 undergraduate students of security management and protection in the Seoul metropolitan region were surveyed. Particularly, a comparative analysis was conducted on the legal bases and supervision, the employment types and salaries, and the scopes of responsibility and authority of suggested alternatives were compared. The results showed that utilization of private police forces was thought to be the most effective option. Based on the research findings, the university departments should develop and maintain a quality curriculum to educate their students to be prepared security professionals with a focus on emergency response capabilities and martial arts, including the courses on private police law and emergency rescue and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Therefore, in this study, the perception and status of bibliotherapy were investigated by applying an academic and practical perspective to the field of library and Information Science, which has a very close relationship with bibliotherapy. First, the perception survey surveyed 200 students taking LIS - related classes at four-year universities in the Seoul metropolitan area on five topics (books, bibliotherapy, curriculum, libraries, and others) using keywords related to bibliotherapy. And then, the current status of bibliotherapy in the field of LIS was investigated by dividing it into a curriculum related to bibliotherapy and bibliotherapy activities in the library to examine it from an educational and practical perspective. Bibliotherapy related curriculum status survey explored and analyzed through bibliotherapy related keywords based on 32 universities with LIS departments among four-year universities in Korea. And bibliotherapy programs and reading lists were analyzed for 1,104 public libraries in Korea. Finally, based on the results of these surveys, the direction for the activation and development of bibliotherapy in the field of LIS was presented from the perspective of bibliotherapy participants and operators.

  • Universities that previously targeted in 20s have recently diversified their operation methods, founding purposes, and target. With a significant decrease in the school-age population relative to the number of universities, universities are making their best efforts to secure new students and minimize student attrition. In this study, an online survey was conducted to empirically examine the effects of motivation for major selection and sense of belonging on learning persistence intention among students in beauty-related departments at 2-year and 4-year general universities and cyber universities. The collected data from 119 students at general universities and 113 students at cyber universities were analyzed using SPSS 28. The key findings can be summarized as follows: For general universities, motivation for major selection did not have a significant effect on learning persistence intention, but sense of belonging had a significant positive effect. Additionally, an interaction effect was observed, indicating that as the sense of belonging increased, extrinsic motivation significantly increased learning persistence intention. For cyber universities, intrinsic motivation and sense of belonging among motivations for major selection had a significant positive effect on learning persistence intention, while the moderating effect of sense of belonging in the relationship between motivation for major selection and learning persistence intention was not significant. In summary, for general universities, the factor that influenced students' learning persistence intention was a sense of belonging to the university, while for cyber universities, intrinsic motivation played a significant role. These findings are expected to provide meaningful insights and data for universities to develop effective policies for preventing student attrition.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the cognitive and psychological precedence factors of career preparation behaviors of university students and to clarify the structural relationships between the variables. First, the effects of reflective learning on university students' career preparation behaviors were examined and the mediating effect of grit between reflective learning and career preparation behavior was verified. The research analyzed 307 university students in the 3rd and 4th year. The results of the study have shown that the reflective learning had a significant positive relationship with all variables of grit and career preparation behavior, but non-reflective learning have an insignificance relationship with all the main variables. In addition, reflective learning has a direct positive effect on career preparation behavior, and grit has a mediating effect on the relationship between reflective learning and career preparation behavior. The results of this study indicate that the more original variables are further identified and extended to improve career preparation behaviors of university students. It is significant that they are provided with the basic data for the development of career and job preparation education programs that can be applied in the university education field. In addition, it has been confirmed that it is important for university students to improve their ability to critically reflect on themselves, their surroundings and circumstances in order to keep them engaged and to maintain their interests. Moreover, higher education institutions should provide fundamental and extensible method of practice and educational environment.

  • Recently, due to a decrease in the school age population, it is expected that there will be great difficulties in recruiting students. The dropout rate for the last three years of four-year universities nationwide announced in www.academyinfo.go.kr has been continuously increasing at 4.1% (2016), 4.3% (2017), and 4.6% (2018). It has emerged as the biggest issue facing the university. In this study, through a large-scale empirical study at H University, an analysis of the dropout intention of college students and educational factors affecting their intentions were derived. First, as a result of analyzing the intention to drop out, the dropout intention of students in the engineering department was higher than in the humanities, and it was higher in the upper grades. Students from specialized high schools were higher than general high schools, and the students who raised the tuition fees were higher than those who were not. As a result of factor analysis on dropout intention, it was analyzed that class difficulty, major satisfaction, parent satisfaction, internationalization satisfaction, and college education performance satisfaction had a significant effect on dropout intention.
