Development of the Reading Attitudes Test Tool for Children (아동의 독서태도 검사도구 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a test tool that can be measured in various aspects for the reading attitudes of children. For that it was set the configuration based on the preceding reading attitude survey and models and tacit knowledge of attitude toward reading and wrote the questions for reading attitudes. It conducted a primary and secondary test for elementary school students in grades 4-6 to verify the validity and reliability of measurement tools. 8 factors of the reading attitudes measurement tool were extracted through exploratory factor analysis and it described 66.29% of total variable. the r-value for inter-item consistency about reading attitudes were above 0.4 on all questions. The Cronbach ${\alpha}$-value of reliability coefficient about reading attitudes measurement tool was 0.950. Therefore Reading attitude test tool have reading usefulness, reading efficacy, leisure, stiumulation, flow, expression, study, assertiveness as sub factors of reading attitude has been shown that it can serve as a useful tool for measuring various aspects of the reading attitude for children.

Development of Children Food Safety Education Program for 4th and 5th Grade Elementary School Students in Daegu and Evaluation of Its Effects (대구지역 초등학교 4, 5학년 대상 어린이 식생활 안전관리 교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과 평가)

  • This study was conducted on 4th and 5th grade elementary school students in Daegu, Korea for the purpose of promoting health and proper dietary habits. A children food safety education program was developed and its effects evaluated on 4th and 5th graders (3,932 students for 4th year, 4,438 students for 5th year) at 46 elementary schools, which were under the jurisdiction of the four educational bureaus of Daegu city. Education was conducted in accordance with an education design plan, of which there were two goals, including know the contents of 'special act on children's dietary life safety management' and 'practice proper hand-washing'. 'Special act on children's dietary life safety management' was explained, and the education curriculum included proper hand-washing for prevention of food poisoning, quality certification mark on children's favorite foods, harmful foods such as unsanitary and adulterated foods, and green food zone. Flash songs, PowerPoint, 'glitter burger' notice note, and banner were used as education media. It was found that the awareness level of items related to 'special act on children's dietary life safety management' increased significantly after education (p<0.001). 'Necessity of nutrition education and children's food safety' also increased significantly (p<0.05) after education. Lastly, children answered that they washed their hands more often after education (62.9%) than before (60.7%).

The Effects of Interpersonal relation disposition and Emotional intelligence on Interpersonal relation competence of Allied Health College Students

  • This study was conducted to confirm the influence of interpersonal disposition and emotional intelligence on interpersonal competence of allied health college students. For the research, a questionaire survey was conducted for students enrolled in the Department of Nursing and Physical Therapy from November 29 to December 16, 2019 and a total of 275 data were collected. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS program. As results of the study, the average of interpersonal competence was 4.10 and that of thoughtfulness-unconsideration was the highest among the eight interpersonal types and the average emotional intelligence was 2.73. The interpersonal dispositions that had a significant effect on interpersonal competence were initiative-congruence and aggression-non aggression and their explanatory power was 29.4% and the most influential interpersonal disposition was initiative-congruence. Emotional intelligence that had a significant effect on interpersonal competence were self-emotional expression, control of others and motivation and their explanatory power was 24.0% and the most influential emotional intelligence was motivation.

The Relation Between Evaluative Concern Perfectionism and Psychological Distress: Emotion-focused Coping and Perceived Efficacy as Mediators (평가염려 완벽주의와 심리적 고통의 관계: 정서중심 대처와 지각된 효능감의 매개효과)

  • This study examined the possible mediating effects of emotion-focused coping and perceived efficacy on the relation between evaluative concern perfectionism and psychological distress. A convenience sample of 241 university students (129 men and 112 women) was employed. Analyses of the structural model for the full sample yielded evidence of good fit. The results support the indirect pathways of evaluative concern perfectionism to psychological distress through emotion-focused coping and perceived efficacy. About 40% of variance in psychological distress was accounted for by evaluative concern perfectionism, emotion-focused coping and perceived efficacy. In addition, the fully mediated model produced good fit to the data across gender. However, there were no differences in structural paths as a function of gender. Implications for counseling practice and future research are discussed.

  • Advanced technologies and techniques make it possible to express digital animation with higher quality. Characters in the virtual animation space are playing an important role in emphasizing the human audiences or interacting directly with them. The movement of characters gives them vital power, and shows their intentions and emotions. To analyze the emotion of character movements, the study develops basic movement sources based on Laban's property elements of movement such as time, space, and flow, and tries to find the relationship between their movements and the emotions they arouse by positioning them on Plutchik's emotional circle. We find that each element of 9 movements represent its own emotion consistently, and has influence on the intensity of emotions clearly.

Validation of the Korean Version of the Positive and Negative Ex-relationship Thoughts Scale (한국판 과거 연애 관계 사고 척도(Positive and Negative Ex-Relationship Thoughts Scale) 타당화)

  • This study aimed to translate and validate the Positive and Negative Ex-Relationship Thoughts (PANERT), a scale measuring the positive and negative valence of thoughts about past relationships in early adulthood. For this purpose, PANERT was translated into Korean and the study surveyed on 337 single male and female adults in their 20. Then, the gender difference between major variables was analyzed. After going through item analysis, all twelve original items were used to construct the Korean version of PANERT. The confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) supported the two factors structure of the Korean version of PANERT: positive vs, negative thought content valence. Also, the reliability coefficients of each two factors were all satisfactory. As a result of a correlation analysis, the criterion-related validity of the two sub-factors was good with other related scales(Intrusive rumination scale of K-ERRI, K-DASS-21-D, and K-PANAS-Revised) except for changes of self-perception. Finally, the research model was built to examine the mediating effect of two affect responses(positive and negative) in the relationship between two thought content valences and depression. In this process, the convergence and discriminant validity of the Korean version of PANERT were confirmed and the indirect effect was also confirmed in the structural equation model. In conclusion, the Korean version of PANERT consists of two factors and twelve items in total. Also, it is a reliable and valid tool for measuring the thought content valences in the romantic relationship breakup experience of early adults.

The Grounded Theoretical Study on Negative Emotion Recovery Process of Female College Students Through Bibliotherapy (독서치료를 통한 여대생의 부정적 정서 회복과정에 대한 근거이론적 연구)

  • Today. the mental health has a great deal of impact on individuals and the society surrounding. Therefore. this research is to propose a way of bibliotherapical intercession by stages and patterns as to examine the recovery process of students with negative emotion by using the grounded theoretical method. This research collected materials through focus-interview, participant observation and book reports of 4 experiments involving female college students aged from 21 to 23, all having emotional and psychological difficulties. The recovery process of female students with negative emotion involved causal factors such as "recognition of hidden wound" "Sense of inferiority", and "difficulty in forming relationships", as well as contextual factors like "sympathetic attitude". which altogether brought about the core phenomenon. "pursuit for healthy ego". This core phenomenon induced to recovering the bright and positive attitude through using the strategies of 'self insight' and application of 'management plan', influence by such incoherent conditions as 'intimate surroundings' and $\setminus$ 'support system patterns'. And as time passed. the recovery process appeared tin four stages: 'issues recognition'. 'emotional responses', 'issue solution' and 'self application'.

A Basic Study on Scale Development of Problem Behaviors for Young Children (유아 문제행동 척도 개발을 위한 기초 연구)

  • This study is intended to draw a scale for problem behaviors of young children. To achieve this, an empirical survey was carried out on experts from three groups of daycare center teachers, kindergarten teachers and early childhood education-majored professors. A total of 209 items were measured by the scale for young children's problem behaviors from the 1970s to now. The results showed that 96 of a total 209 items in 5 categories related to the scale for young children's problem behaviors were adopted as major items. Using these 96 major items in 5 categories, 17 out of 40 items in a peer relationship category, 13 out of 41 items in a development category, 20 out of 50 items in a fundamental habit category, 22 out of 38 items in a morality category, and 24 out of 40 items in an emotion category were adopted. Most items were adopted in the emotion category, whereas most items were rejected in the development category. Therefore, it is judged that their problem behaviors are caused mainly by anxiety, shrinking, unexpected behaviors, dependence on parents or teachers, and slow behaviors due to the latent negative emotions of young children at the developing stage.

Influence of Clinical Nurses' Intrinsic Motivation, Affective Commitment, and Turnover Intention on Organizational Performance (간호사의 내재적 동기부여, 정서적 몰입 및 이직의도가 조직성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of clinical nurses' intrinsic motivation, affective commitment, and turnover intention on organizational performance. Participants were 189 nurses currently working at four general hospitals in C city. Data were collected by a self-report questionnaire and analyzed by using the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program with descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Mean scores were as follows: intrinsic motivation($3.02{\pm}0.57$), affective commitment ($3.47{\pm}0.71$), turnover intention ($3.30{\pm}0.59$), and organizational performance ($3.37{\pm}0.52$). Organizational performance was significantly correlated with intrinsic motivation, affective commitment, and turnover intention. Nurses with higher affective commitment and intrinsic motivation showed higher organizational performance, where as higher turnover intention was correlated with lower organizational performance. The factors that influenced organizational performance were affective commitment(${\beta}=.42$), intrinsic motivation(${\beta}=.36$), and turnover intention(${\beta}=-.11$), with an explanatory power of 51.6%. Results of this study indicate the need to evaluate and manage the significant predictors of organizational performance. Further studies are needed to identify the relationships between clinical nurses' intrinsic motivation, affective commitment, turnover intention, and organizational performance.

The effect of job stress of system maintenance staff on emotion exhaustion: Focusing on the moderating effect of professional identity (정보시스템 운영인력의 직무 스트레스가 정서적 소진에 미치는 영향: 전문직 정체성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The fourth industrial revolution is expected to bring about great changes in information technology sector and create a variety of jobs. However, the psychological anxiety of IT staff is increasing due to stress and uncertainty created by the new technologies. Accordingly, researchers examined how professional identity moderate the effect of job stress of system maintenance staff on emotion exhaustion. For empirical studies, data was collected from 160 employees responsible for managing and supporting IS, and the hypothesis was verified using SPSS 21. The analysis results showed that role conflicts, role ambiguity, and qualitative work overload, which are components of job stress, have affected the emotion exhaustion. Professional identity had a moderating effect the relationship between qualitative work overload and emotion exhaustion. On the other hand, professional identity did not moderate the relationship between role conflict and emotion exhaustion, role ambiguity and emotion exhaustion. As professional identity lessen the psychological burden and emotion exhaustion of introducing new technologies, organizations need to provide support to enhance professional identity for system maintenance staff.
