The RTD Bypass Loops at Kori Unit 3&4 will be removed and a new system will be designed and will be installed to replace it. The replacement system provides equal or better performance and eliminates some Persistent problems. The Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) bypass line is eliminated to reduce the radiation exposure to operators and workers. After the elimination, the resistance temperature detectors are installed in scoop of the reactor coolant piping to detect a representative temperature. This study includes safety evaluation, RTD response time Analysis, Uncertainty Analysis, LOCA evaluation and Structural Analysis.

Vehicle movement detection by high order correlation analysis of optical sensor array signals is introduced. The optical sensors observe the road which is assumed to be a non-uniform speckle-like texture. The measurement system is applicable to general robotic movement detection because : 1) It employs a non-contact measurement method, 2) The system can be made very compact, and 3) It enables approximation of the movement trace with a sequence of arcs instead of the conventional connection of simple line segments. In this work, we have looked into estimation of running trace of an autonomous vehicle by observing the ground pattern.

By using a least-square input estimator and likelihood ratio technique, a tracking problem is presented. A Kalman tracking filter based on constant-velocity, straight-line model is used to track a target and the filtered estimate is updated using an input estimate when a maneuver is detected. Track residuals at each scan are sensed by a detector to guard against unexpected corrections of the filter. The simulation results show there are significant improvements using the scheme presented.
This paper deals with the design and development of a lens system capable of imaging an infrared image of $3{\sim}5{\mu}m$ wavelength bands with a focal length of 24mm and good atmospheric transmission characteristics. The design used CodeV, a commercial design program, and the optimization is carried out with weighting to eliminate chromatic aberration, spherical aberration and distortion. The designed lens system consists of two lenses consisting of Si and Ge. Each lens has an aspherical surface on one side. And this optical system has the resolution of the characteristics that the MTF value is 0.40 at the line width of 29lp/mm and the MTF value is 0.25 at the line width of 20lp/mm. This optical system is considered to have the capability to be applied to the thermal imaging camera for MWIR using the $206{\times}156$ array infrared detector of $25{\mu}m$ pixels and the $320{\times}240$ array infrared detector of $17{\mu}m$ pixels.
This paper presents a new and efficient scheme to determine the optimal neutron source position in a model near-equilibrium pressurized water reactor, which is based on the OPR1000 Hanul Unit 3 Cycle 7 configuration. The proposed scheme particularly assigns importance of source positions according to the local adjoint flux distribution. In this research, detailed pin-by-pin reactor adjoint fluxes are determined by using the Monte Carlo KENO-VI code from solutions of the reactor homogeneous critical adjoint transport equations. The adjoint fluxes at each allowable source position are subsequently ranked to yield four candidate positions with the four highest adjoint fluxes. The study next simulates ex-core detector responses using the Monte Carlo MAVRIC code by assuming a neutron source is installed in one of the four candidate positions. The calculation is repeated for all positions. These detector responses are later converted into an inverse count rate ratio curve for each candidate source position. The study confirms that the optimal source position is the one with very high adjoint fluxes and detector responses, which is interestingly the original source position in the OPR1000 core, as it yields an inverse count rate ratio curve closest to the traditional 1/M line. The current work also clearly demonstrates that the proposed adjoint flux-based approach can be used to efficiently determine the optimal geometry for a neutron source and a detector in a modern pressurized water reactor core.
Desirable substrates for $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$ coated conductor are highly cube textured Ni or Ni-alloy tapes, which can be produced by cold rolling and recrystallization annealing. We have fabricated hi-axially textured pure Ni tapes for the application of coated conductors. The sintered Ni rod was cold-rolled into the thin tapes of $50{\mu}m$ thickness and the tapes were heat-treated for texture development with line-focused infrared heater. The temperature was maintained at $800\sim1050^{\circ}C$, using 1kW double ended linear halogen lamp in $96%Ar-4%H_2$ atmosphere The biaxially tortured Ni tapes were successfully formed by line-focused infrared heat treatment The texture of the annealed Ni tapes was analysed using the GADDS (general area detector diffraction system). The full width at half maximum values of phi and omega scan for the Ni tapes were less than $10^{\circ}$ and the grain size was $20-50{\mu}m$.
Since the start of the KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) project, Instrumentation and Control (I&C) of the Neutral Beam Test Facility (NB-TF) has been striving to answer diverse requests arising from various facets during the project's development and construction phases. Hard-wired electrical circuits have been designed, tested, fabricated, and finally installed to the relevant parts of the system. In relation to the vacuum system I&C, controlling functions for the rotary pumps, a Roots pump, two turbomolecular pumps, and four cryosorption pumps have been constructed. I&C for the ion source operation are the temperature and flow rate signal monitoring, Langmuir probe signal measurements, gradient grid current measurements, and arc detector circuit. For the huge power system to be monitored or safely operated, many temperature measurement functions have also been implemented for the beam line components like the neutralizer, bending magnet, ion dump, and calorimeter. Nearly all of the control and probe signals between the NB test stand and the control room were made to be transmitted through the optical cables. Failures of coolant flow or beam line vacuum pressure were made to be safely blocked from influencing the system by an appropriate interlock circuit that will shut down the extraction voltage application to the system or prevent damages to the vacuum components. Preliminary estimation of the beam power through the calorimetric measurement shows that 87.9% of the total power of the 60kV/18A beam with 200 seconds duration is absorbed by the calorimeter surface. Most of these I&C results would be highly appropriate for the construction of the main NBI facility for the KSTAR national fusion research project.
It requires the detector system which can collect highly reliable traffic data in order to perform the real-time traffic signal control. This study is to decide the optimal shape of inductive loop for the real-time traffic signal control .This loop is located at the stopline in the signalized intersection for DS(Degree of Saturation) control. In order to find out the optimal shape of loop, 6types of experiments were performed . The results of the basic experiments of loops are as follows ; -the optimal number of turns for loop is 3 turns. -the impedance values of the loop detectors are similar to that of NEMA standards -the 1.8${\times}$4.5M loop is excellent for sensitivity in actual detection range of car length comparing to other shape of inductive loops. At the experimental of establishments of the optimal loop shape, it found that 1.8 4.5M loop has the highest values of $\DeltaL$ comparing to other types of loops, It means that the range of Lead-in cable length of this loop. And this loop is highly reliable in occpupancy time. Conclusivley, the 1.8${\times}$4.5M inductive loop is the optimal solution as a stop line loop detector for real -time traffic signal control.

We have developed and commercialize a time-of-flight - medium energy ion scattering spectrometry (TOF-MEIS) system (model MEIS-K120). MEIS-K120 adapted a large solid acceptance angle detector that results in high collection efficiency, minimized ion beam damage while maintaining a similar energy resolution. In addition, TOF analyzer regards neutrals same to ions which removes the ion neutralization problems in absolute quantitative analysis. A TOF-MEIS system achieves $7{\times}10^{-3}$ energy resolution by utilizing a pulsed ion beam with a pulse width 350 ps and a TOF delay-line-detector with a time resolution of about 85 ps. TOF-MEIS spectra were obtained using 100 keV $He^+$ ions with an ion beam diameter of $10{\mu}m$ with ion dose $1{\times}10^{16}$ in ordinary experimental condition. Among TOF-MEIS applications, we report the quantitative compositional profiling of 3~5 nm CdSe/ZnS QDs, As depth profile and substitutional As ratio of As implanted/annealed Si, Ionic Critical Dimension (CD) for FinFET, Direct Recoil (DR) analysis of hydrogen in diamond like carbon (DLC) and InxGayZnzOn on glass substrate.

In this paper, we compared recognition rates between NN(neural networks) and clustering method as a scheme of off-line PD(partial discharge) diagnosis which occurs at the stator coil of traction motor. To acquire PD data, three defective models are made. PD data for classification were acquired from PD detector. And then statistical distributions are calculated to classify model discharge sources. These statistical distributions were applied as input data of two classification tools, BP(Back propagation algorithm) and ANFIS(adaptive network based fuzzy inference system) pre-processed FCM(fuzzy c-means) clustering method. So, classification rate of BP were somewhat higher than ANFIS. But other items of ANFIS were better than BP; learning time, parameter number, simplicity of algorithm.
