PURPOSE. The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical acceptability of all-ceramic crowns fabricated by the digital veneering method vis-$\grave{a}$-vis the traditional method. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Zirconia specimens manufactures by two different manufacturing method, conventional vs digital veneering, with three different thickness (0.3 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm) were prepared for analysis. Color measurement was performed using a spectrophotometer for the prepared specimens. The differences in shade in relation to the build-up method were calculated by quantifying ${\Delta}E^*$ (mean color difference), with the use of color difference equations representing the distance from the measured values $L^*$, $a^*$, and $b^*$, to the three-dimensional space of two colors. Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) combined with a Tukey multiple-range test was used to analyze the data (${\alpha}$=0.05). RESULTS. In comparing means and standard deviations of $L^*$, $a^*$*, and $b^*$ color values there was no significant difference by the manufacturing method and zirconia core thickness according to a two-way ANOVA. The color differences between two manufacturing methods were in a clinically acceptable range less than or equal to 3.7 in all the specimens. CONCLUSION. Based on the results of this study, a carefully consideration is necessary while selecting upper porcelain materials, even if it is performed on a small scale. However, because the color reproducibility of the digital veneering system was within the clinically acceptable range when comparing with conventional layering system, it was possible to estimate the possibility of successful aesthetic prostheses in the latest technology.

Performance of NOx removal in SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction) process depends on such various factors as catalyst factors (catalyst composition, catalyst form, space velocity, etc.), temperature of exhaust gas, and velocity distribution of exhaust gas. Especially the flow uniformity of gas stream flowing into the catalyst layer is believed to be the most important factor to influence the performance. In this research, the flow characteristics of a SCR process at design stage was simulated, using 3-dimensional numerical analysis method, to confirm the uniformity of the gas stream. In addition, the effects of guide vanes, baffles, and perforated plates on the flow uniformity for the inside and catalyst layer of the reactor were studied in order to optimize the flow uniformity inside the SCR reactor. It was found that the installation of a guide vane at the inlet duct L-tube part and the installation of a baffle at the upper part is very effective in avoiding chaneling inside the reactor. It was also found that additional installation of a perforated plate at the lower part of the potential catalyst layer buffers once more the flow for very uniform distribution of the gas stream.
Geosynthetic-reinforced and pile-supported embankments have been increasingly used and researched around the world. The inclusion of one or multiple geosynthetic reinforcements over the pile is intended to enhance the efficiency of load transfer from soft ground to piles, to reduce total and differential settlement and increase global or local stability. In this paper, the reinforcement effectiveness and arching effect of the geogrid-reinforced and pile-supported embankments have been studied in terms of field model tests and numerical analysis with varying the space between piles and reinforcement. 2-dimensional numerical analysis has been conducted using the FLAC (Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua) program. And load transfer mechanisms between soil-piles-geogrid were investigated. The mechanisms of load transfer can be considered as a combination of embankment soil arching, tension geogrid, and stress concentration due to the stiffness difference between pile and soft ground. Based on the field model test and numerical analysis results, it was found that the geosynthetic reinforcement slightly interferes with soil arching, and helps reduce differential settlement of the soft ground. Also. at the D/b=3 (D: spacing of pile cap, b: diameter of pile), the total settlement is reduced by about $40\%$ compared to that without reinforcement. For $D/b{\ge}6$, the effectiveness of geogrid reinforcement in reducing settlement is negligible.
Antigen is substance causing disease derived from pathogen. Living organism has the immune system in terms of defense mechanism against antigen. Antigen is processed through several pathways such as phagocytosis, antibody action, complement activation, and cytotoxins by NK or cytotoxic T lymphocyte via MHC molecule. Lymph node (LN) is comprised of the complicated 3 dimensional network and several stromal cells. Fibroblastic reticular cells (FRC) are distributed in T zone for interaction with T cells. FRC produces the extra cellular matrix (ECM) into LN for ECM reorganization against pathogen infections and secretes homing chemokines. However, it has not so much been known about the involvement of the antigen process of FRC. The present report is for the function of FRC on antigen process. For this, FRC was positioned with several infected situations such as co-culture with macrophage, T cell, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and TNFα stimulation. When co-culture between FRC with macrophage and T cells was performed, morphological change of FRC was observed and empty space between FRCs was made by morphological change. The matrix metallo-proteinase (MMP) activity was up-regulated by Y27632 and T cells onto FRC. Furthermore, inflammatory cytokine, TNFα regulated the expression of adhesion molecules and MHC I antigen transporter in FRC by gene chip assay. NO production was elevated by FRC monolayer co-cultured with macrophage stimulated by LPS. GFP antigen was up-taken by macrophage co-cultured with FRC. Collectively, it suggests that FRC assists of the facilitation of antigen process and LN stroma is implicated into antigen process pathway.

In this paper, we present an inertial sensor-based gait analysis system to measure and analyze lower-limb movements. We developed an integral AHRS(Attitude Heading Reference System) using a combination of rate gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer sensor signals. Several AHRS modules mounted on segments of the patient's body provide the quaternions representing the patient segments's orientation in space. And a method is also proposed for calculating three-dimensional inter-segment joint angle which is an important bio-mechanical measure for a variety of applications related to rehabilitation. To evaluate the performance of our AHRS module, the Vicon motion capture system, which offers millimeter resolution of 3D spatial displacements and orientations, is used as a reference. The evaluation resulted in a RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) of 1.08 and 1.72 degree in yaw and pitch angle. In order to evaluate the performance of our the gait analysis system, we compared the joint angle for the hip, knee and ankle with those provided by Vicon system. The result shows that our system will provide an in-depth insight into the effectiveness, appropriate level of care, and feedback of the rehabilitation process by performing real-time limb or gait analysis during the post-stroke recovery.

In this paper, we employ the modulation technique for improving the characteristics of beamformer in the low frequencies and thus improving the overall noise reduction performance. In the 1-dimensional uniform linear microphone arrays, we can suppress the narrowband noise component using the delay-and-sum beamforming. But, for the wideband noise signal, the delay-and-sum beamformer does not work well for the reduction of low frequency component because the inter-element spacing is usually set to avoid spatial aliasing at high frequencies. Hence, the beamwidth is not uniform with respect to each frequency and it is usually wider at the low frequencies. In order to obtain the beamwidth independent of frequencies, subarray systems[1][2][3][4] and multi-beamforming[5] have been proposed. However these algorithms need large space and more microphones since they are based on the theory that the size of the array is proportional to the wavelength of the input signal. In the proposed beamformer, we reduce the low frequency noise by using modulation technique that does not need additional sensors or non-uniform spacing. More Precisely, the array signals are split into subbands, and the low frequency components are shifted to high frequencies by modulation and reduced by the delay-and-sum beamforming techniques with small size microphone array. Experimental results show that the proposed technique Provides better performance than the conventional ones, especially in the low frequency band.
A large optical surface is fabricated by grinding, polishing and figuring. The grinding process is the most rapid and has the largest amount of fabrication of all processes. If we measure the surface precisely and rapidly in the grinding process, it is possible to improve the efficiency of the fabrication process. Since the surface of grinding process is rough and not shiny, it is not easy to measure the surface using light so that we cannot use an interferometer. Therefore, we have to measure the surface using a mechanical method. We can measure the surface under the grinding process by using a laser tracker which is a portable 3-dimensional coordinate measuring machine. In this paper, we used the laser tracker to measure the surface error of 1 m diameter spherical mirror. This measurement result was compared to that of an interferometer. As a result, surface measurement error was found to be $0.2{\mu}m$ rms (root mean square) and $2.7{\mu}m$ PV (Peak to Valley), which is accurate enough to apply to the rough surface under the grinding stage.

In this paper, as a basic study for combination of turbo equalizer and 4D-8PSK-TCM(4 Dimensional 8 Phase Shift Keying Trellis Coded Modulation) system, which is recommended for X-band band satellite communication in CCSDS, a system combining 8PSK-TCM system and turbo equalizer has designed and performance evaluation of the system has performed. BER performance of 8PSK and 8PSK-TCM systems has evaluated and analyzed in AWGN, Proakis B and Proakis C channels in detail. As results of simulation, BER performance of 8PSK-TCM system is better than 8PSK system in AWGN environment. Furthermore, it can be confirmed that the system combining the 8PSK-TCM system with the turbo equalizer can further improve the BER performance through iterative equalization in the ISI channel environment. The 8PSK-TCM system combined with the turbo equalizer requires SNR of 5.9 dB for BER performance of $10^{-3}$ with 5 iterative equalization in Proakis B and SNR of 9.1 dB for BER of $10^{-2}$ with 5 iterative equalization in Proakis C.
Trajectories of RFID tags can be modeled as a line, denoted by tag interval, captured by an RFID reader and indexed in a three-dimensional domain, with the axes being the tag identifier (TID), the location identifier (LID), and the time (TIME). Distribution of tag intervals in the domain space is an important factor for efficient processing of a query for tracing tags and is changed according to arranging coordinates of each domain. Particularly, the arrangement of LIDs in the domain has an effect on the performance of queries retrieving the traces of tags as times goes by because it provides the location information of tags. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the optimal ordering of LIDs in order to perform queries efficiently for retrieving tag intervals from the index. To do this, we propose LID proximity for reordering previously assigned LIDs to new LIDs and define the LID proximity function for storing tag intervals accessed together closely in index nodes when a query is processed. To determine the sequence of LIDs in the domain, we also propose a reordering scheme of LIDs based on LID proximity. Our experiments show that the proposed reordering scheme considerably improves the performance of Queries for tracing tag locations comparing with the previous method of assigning LIDs.
In this study, we investigated the permeation property of single gases ($N_2$, $O_2$, $SF_6$, $CF_4$ through hollow fiber polymeric membrane (PSF, PC, PI) as a function of pressure and temperature to decide operating condition for $SF_6$ gas separation process. The results showed the gas permeation varied differentlydepending on the properties of gases and membrane. When permeance of each gases was represented as a function of temperature and pressure in 3 dimensional space, the surface of permeance was shown approximately flat. Thus, we established permeance models with forms of first-and second-order polynomial. These two models showed high goodness of fit. This indicates that the two polynomial models have enough applicability to predict the gas separation process.
