Quantification of 3D Pore Structure in Glass Bead Using Micro X-ray CT (Micro X-ray CT를 이용한 글라스 비드의 3차원 간극 구조 정량화)

  • The random and heterogeneous pore structure is a significant factor that dominates physical and mechanical behaviors of soils such as fluid flow and geomechanical responses driven by loading. The characterization method using non-destructive testing such as micro X-ray CT technique which has a high resolution with micrometer unit allows to observe internal structure of soils. However, the application has been limited to qualitatively observe 2D and 3D CT images and to obtain the void ratio at macro-scale although the CT images contain enormous information of materials of interests. In this study, we constructed the 3D particle and pore structures based on sequentially taken 2D images of glass beads and quantitatively defined complex pore structure with void cell and void channel. This approach was enabled by implementing image processing techniques that include coordinate transformation, binarization, Delaunay Triangulation, and Euclidean Distance Transform. It was confirmed that the suggested algorithm allows to quantitatively evaluate the distribution of void cells and their connectivity of heterogeneous pore structures for glass beads.

Semi-automatic Building Area Extraction based on Improved Snake Model (개선된 스네이크 모텔에 기반한 반자동 건물 영역 추출)

  • Terrain, building location and area, and building shape information is in need of implementing 3D map. This paper proposes a method of extracting a building area by an improved semi-automatic snake algorithm. The method consists of 3-stage: pre-processing, initializing control points, and applying an improved snake algorithm. In the first stage, after transforming a satellite image to a gray image and detecting the approximate edge of the gray image, the method combines the gray image and the edge. In the second stage, the user looks for the center point of a building and the system sets the circular or rectangular initial control points by an procedural method. In the third stage, the enhanced snake algorithm extracts the building area. In particular, this paper sets the one tenn of the snake in a new way in order to use the proposed method for specializing building area extraction. Finally, this paper evaluated the performance of the proposed method using sky view satellite image and it showed that the matching percentage to the exact building area is 75%.

  • In this paper, we describe an algorithm which can automatically recognize human gesture for Human-Robot interaction. In early works, many systems for recognizing human gestures work under many restricted conditions. To eliminate these restrictions, we have proposed the method that can represent 3D and 2D gesture information simultaneously, APM. This method is less sensitive to noise or appearance characteristic. First, the feature vectors are extracted using APM. The next step is constructing a gesture space by analyzing the statistical information of training images with PCA. And then, input images are compared to the model and individually symbolized to one portion of the model space. In the last step, the symbolized images are recognized with HMM as one of model gestures. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm is efficient on gesture recognition, and it is very convenient to apply to humanoid robot or intelligent interface systems.

  • 제조업의 공동화 현상 및 3D 작업의 기피 현상 등으로 용접 고기량자의 구인 난 및 신규 용접인력의 감소 현상이 나타나고 있다. 이는 단기적으로는 경량 간이 용접 장치를 1인이 다수대를 운용함으로써 해결 가능하지만 적용 부위가 한정되고 수정 부위가 과다 발생되어 근본적인 해결책이라 보기는 어렵다 따라서 지능형 용접 ROBOT의 적용을 통한 용접기량자의 대체가 요구되어 지고 있다. 반면에 용접 ROBOT에 의한 고효율 및 고품질의 용접을 위해서는 용접재료, 용접기등의 발전도 중요하지만 고기량자에 준하는 최적 용접조건의 선정이 무엇보다도 중요하며 다양한 대상물에 대한 다양한 용접 사양을 만족하기 위해서는 기존 TEST를 통해서 얻어진 최적 용접 조건의 재현만으로는 한계를 가지게 되며 LASER SENSOR 등을 통한 용접부의 GROOVE 형상 혹은 ROOT GAP의 감지와 이에 적합한 용접조건을 REAL TIME으로 결정할 수 있는 용접 정보 처리 시스템이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 광범위한 용접정보 처리 시스템중 조선분야에 비중이 제일 큰 단층 FILLET 용접부위에 대하여 용접 ROBOT SYSTEM을 적용 할 경우 표준용접 조건 및 용접조건 최적화를 위한 용접전문가 시스템의 연구결과를 소개하고 향후 전망에 대해서 의견을 제시하고자 한다.

  • SHOP DWG의 현주소 어디까지 왔는가? 설계에서 제조에 이르는 전 과정을 컴퓨터로 제어하고 관리하는 기술. 캐드(CAD)와 캠(CAM)은 각각 computer-aided design,computer-aided manufacturing의 약칭으로 컴퓨터보조설계와 컴퓨터보조생산을 뜻한다. CAD는 설계도면을 한 장씩 수작업으로 제도하지 않고 설계 데이터베이스의 정보를 CRT(cathode ray tube)에서 화상을 보고 합성하면서 설계하므로 작업을 최적화 할 수 있다. CAD로 설계된 설계도의 내용은 CAM을 통해 NC(수치제어)공작기계에 정확한 작업동작을 지시하게 되며, 작업관리∙가공∙조립∙검사 등의 제조과정을 컴퓨터로 관리하여 작업속도와 제품의 정밀성을 높이게 된다. 최근에는 건축현장의 2D system이 보편화되어 있지만 건축현장의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 기계설비의 기계실, 또는 조립화 공법 등에는 3차원 CAD∙CAM시스템이 개발되어 입체형상을 화면에 3차원으로 재현할 수 있고, 대상물의 표면적∙부피∙무게∙강도 등의 물리적 성질도 자동 계산하여 최적상태에서 현장의 시공에 적용할 수 있게 되었다. 1960년대 초 미국에서 자동차 모델∙엔진, 항공기 부품 등 의 설계에 수작업의 한계를 느껴 개발되었으며, 한국에서는 70년대 중반에 도입되어 운용되고 있다. 이에 따라 프로그램 회사들은 다양한 방법 등을 SHOP DWG에 적용하여 판매경쟁이 치열하다. (주)우진아이엔에스는 급속한 산업경제의 변화와 무한경쟁시대에 보다 나은 기술개발 투자에도 노력을 기울여, 2000년 11월 용인공장, 생산라인을 천안으로 이전, 확장 하여 배관 및 닥트의 CAD-CAM SYSTEM, P.F.P공법, 기계실3D, 블럭화배관, 닥트자동화 시스템, 설계, 용접공정을 공장화시켰으며, 신 개발품인 S.C.D(SEMI-CON DUCT)를 신설하여 모든 건축물에 맞는 필수적인 제품을 생산함으로써 선택의 폭을 넓히고, 현장 시공능력 효율을 높이고 있다. 이번 호에서는 (주)우진아이엔에스가 95년 설계팀을 발족하여 제로시스템의 3D공법을 공장 및 현장의 SHOP DWG에 적용해왔고 최근에는“서초 프로젝트A”현장에 SHOP DWG의 최대 결집체인 3D활용의 조립화 공법을 적용하여 초고층 오피스텔현장을 시공한 사례를 게재한다. 우진아이엔에스는 30여년의 기술 축척을 바탕으로 최고의 기술력과 풍부한 경험을 통해 아셈무역센타, 타워팰리스1차, 3차 및 목동트라팰리스, 분당트리폴리스, 수원삼성전자 R4, 등 국내굴지의 초고층빌딩 시공을 근거로 초고층의 기본설계를 이해하고 SHOP DWG을 통해서 기계설비공사의 향후 나아갈 지표를 제시하고 있다.

An Impact Analysis Results of Antenna Reflector for the UHF-band Antenna of Space Launch Vehicle (우주발사체용 UHF-대역 안테나의 반사면 크기에 의한 영향 분석)

  • This paper represents the impact analysis results of antenna reflector for the UHF-band antenna of Space Launch Vehicle. Three types of UHF-band antenna reflector model have been proposed and simulated to compare their characteristics such as resonance frequency, reflection loss and radiation pattern etc. Simulation results showed that resonance frequency and return loss of each reflector models were rarely affected even if reflector sizes are changed. The antenna gain and 3dB bandwidth were slightly changed to the worse directions as the reflector sizes are smaller.

  • Three-dimensional shape measurement technology is used in various industries. Among them, optical three-dimensional shape measurement techniques based on the optical trigonometry are mainly used in the field of semiconductor product inspection, where large quantities of three-dimensional shape measurements are made daily in factories and fine measurements are also required. The light source and the drive circuit, which are components of three-dimensional measurement equipment based on this optical trigonometry, produce heat generated by prolonged operation, and may be exposed to conditions where the ambient temperature is not constant, resulting in temperature-induced measurement errors. In this study, the compensation method of the Thermal Errors for Phase Measuring Profilometry is proposed. Three-Dimensional Shape Measurement Equipment based on Phase Measuring Profilometry is implemented to measure the height of an object and ambient temperature for 10 Hours, and a regression line was obtained line by making simple linear regression using measured temperature and height values. This regression line was used to correct the error of the height measurement according to the temperature, and thermal error was from 139.88 um(Micrometer) to 13.12 um.

  • Knowledge of camera parameters, such as position, orientation and focal length, is essential to 3D information recovery or virtual object insertion. This paper analyzes the error sensitivity of focal length due to position error of feature points which are employed for self-calibration. We verify the dependency of the focal length on the distance from the principal point to feature points with simulations, and propose a criterion for feature selection to reduce the error sensitivity.

  • Oral cancer surgery typically consists of resection of lesion, neck dissection and reconstruction, and it has an impact on the position of hyoid bone. Therefore, morphological change of airway can occur since the geometric parameter of airway is correlated with the hyoid bone. Airflow is affected by geometry of the airway. In this study, flow characteristics were compared between pre- and post-surgery models by both particle image velocimetry (PIV) and numerical simulation. 3D model of upper airway was reconstructed based on CT data. Velocity is accelerated by the reduced channel area, and vortex and recirculation region are observed in pre- and post-surgery models. For the post-surgery model, high pressure distribution is developed by significantly decreased hydraulic diameter, and the longitudinal flow stream is also interrupted.

3D Face Recognition in the Multiple-Contour Line Area Using Fuzzy Integral (얼굴의 등고선 영역을 이용한 퍼지적분 기반의 3차원 얼굴 인식)

  • The surface curvatures extracted from the face contain the most important personal facial information. In particular, the face shape using the depth information represents personal features in detail. In this paper, we develop a method for recognizing the range face images by combining the multiple face regions using fuzzy integral. For the proposed approach, the first step tries to find the nose tip that has a protrusion shape on the face from the extracted face area and has to take into consideration of the orientated frontal posture to normalize. Multiple areas are extracted by the depth threshold values from reference point, nose tip. And then, we calculate the curvature features: principal curvature, gaussian curvature, and mean curvature for each region. The second step of approach concerns the application of eigenface and Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA) method to reduce the dimension and classify. In the last step, the aggregation of the individual classifiers using the fuzzy integral is explained for each region. In the experimental results, using the depth threshold value 40 (DT40) show the highest recognition rate among the regions, and the maximum curvature achieves 98% recognition rate, incase of fuzzy integral.
