PURPOSE. To evaluate the fit of a crown produced based on a 3D printed model and to investigate its clinical applicability. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A master die was fabricated with epoxy. Stone dies were fabricated from conventional impressions (Conventional stone die group: CS, n=10). Digital virtual dies were fabricated by making digital impressions (Digital Virtual die group: VD, n=10). 3D data obtained from the digital impression was used to fabricate 3D printed models (DLP die group: DD, n=10, PolyJet die group: PD, n=10). A total of 40 crowns were fabricated with a milling machine, based on CS, VD, DD and PD. The inner surface of all crowns was superimposed with the master die files by the "Best-fit alignment" method using the analysis software. One-way and 2-way ANOVA were performed to identify significant differences among the groups and areas and their interactive effects (${\alpha}=.05$). Tukey's HSD was used for post-hoc analysis. RESULTS. One-way ANOVA results revealed a significantly higher RMS value in the 3D printed models (DD and PD) than in the CS and DV. The RMS values of PD were the largest among the four groups. Statistically significant differences among groups (P<.001) and between areas (P<.001) were further revealed by 2-way ANOVA. CONCLUSION. Although the fit of crowns fabricated based on the 3D printed models (DD and PD) was inferior to that of crowns prepared with CS and DV, the values of all four groups were within the clinically acceptable range (<$120{\mu}m$).
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the change in signal sensitivity over different acquisition start times and optimize the scanning window to provide the maximal signal sensitivity of [1-13C]pyruvate and its metabolic products, lactate and alanine, using spatially localized hyperpolarized 3D 13C magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI). Materials and Methods: We acquired 3D 13C MRSI data from the brain (n = 3), kidney (n = 3), and liver (n = 3) of rats using a 3T clinical scanner and a custom RF coil after the injection of hyperpolarized [1-13C]pyruvate. For each organ, we obtained three consecutive 3D 13C MRSI datasets with different acquisition start times per animal from a total of three animals. The mean signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of pyruvate, lactate, and alanine were calculated and compared between different acquisition start times. Based on the SNRs of lactate and alanine, we identified the optimal acquisition start timing for each organ. Results: For the brain, the acquisition start time of 18 s provided the highest mean SNR of lactate. At 18 s, however, the lactate signal predominantly originated from not the brain, but the blood vessels; therefore, the acquisition start time of 22 s was recommended for 3D 13C MRSI of the rat brain. For the kidney, all three metabolites demonstrated the highest mean SNR at the acquisition start time of 32 s. Similarly, the acquisition start time of 22 s provided the highest SNRs for all three metabolites in the liver. Conclusion: In this study, the acquisition start timing was optimized in an attempt to maximize metabolic signals in hyperpolarized 3D 13C MRSI examination with [1-13C] pyruvate as a substrate. We investigated the changes in metabolic signal sensitivity in the brain, kidney, and liver of rats to establish the optimal acquisition start time for each organ. We expect the results from this study to be of help in future studies.
The concern with three-dimensional measurement has been growing in recent years. And over the last few years, several studies have been made on three-dimensional measurement. Some of the studies using a three-dimensional measurement have focused on type of form of human body and evaluation of fitness. But there has been no study about applications of three-dimensional measurement system for shape analysis. So, the purpose of this study was to investigate about application of three-dimensional mea-surement system lot shape analysis. The instrument and tools for three-dimensional measurement was Whole Body 3D scanner(model name: Exyma-WBS2H). Analysis program used in experiment is Rapid Form 2004 PPI (INUS technology, Int, Korea). The following results were obtained; 1. The point data using three-dimensional measurement system built 3D model. 2. The three-dimensional data were used to analyze length and curvature of shape. 3. The shape using three-dimensional measurement system could be used in variety field.

This paper presents a 6-DOF relocalization using a 3D laser scanner and a monocular camera. A relocalization problem in robotics is to estimate pose of sensor when a robot revisits the area. A deep convolutional neural network (CNN) is designed to regress 6-DOF sensor pose and trained using both RGB image and 3D point cloud information in end-to-end manner. We generate the new input that consists of RGB and range information. After training step, the relocalization system results in the pose of the sensor corresponding to each input when a new input is received. However, most of cases, mobile robot navigation system has successive sensor measurements. In order to improve the localization performance, the output of CNN is used for measurements of the particle filter that smooth the trajectory. We evaluate our relocalization method on real world datasets using a mobile robot platform.
To verify the field-effectiveness of Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS), a terrestrial LiDAR was deployed to examine the damage properties of woods in forest fire area, then the data was compared with the results surveyed by a forestry expert. Four sample plots (30 m × 50 m, 0.15 ha) were set from the foot to the top of the mountain, and DBH, height, clear length, burned height, and crown length were investigated. Next, TLS collected information on damage characteristics found in the sample plots. This information was then compared with that amassed by the expert. The expert and the TLS survey results showed 30.8 cm and 29.9 cm for DBH, 15.8 m and 17.5 m for tree height, 8.4 m and 8.4 m for clear length, 4.0 m, 3.5 m for burned height, and 7.4 cm and 9.1 cm for crown length. With the exceptions of height and clear length, no notable discrepancy was observed between two methods. H/D ratio, CL/H ratio, and BH/CL ratio, all of which contribute to stability and decay rate of the stand, from the two methods were also compared. The human survey rated each ratio (H/D, CL/H, BH/CL in order) 51.3%, 47.1%, and 53.6%, while the TLS presented the results of 58.8%, 52.0%, and 38.7%.

While the design of weirs requires a scour-considered strategy, research on the analysis of the effectiveness of hydraulic energy dissipaters and design criteria are scarce due to the limited experimental facilities and restraint in the experiment conduction period. The study analyzed the scour dissipation effect of multidirectional dissipaters to improve the scour problems of a weir downstream and suggests design criteria to minimize scour. A hydraulic model experiment was conducted for Nakdong River Hapcheon-Changnyeong Weir and a model in 1/25 of horizontal accumulation and 1/25 of vertical accumulation was produced. The experimental equipment was classified into channels and a flow rate supply and an underwater pump were installed to enable flow at a maximum of 2.0 m3/s. The experimental inflow was 1.3 m3/s, the upstream water level was 0.36 m, downstream water level was 0.24 m, and a cylinder wooden baffle, a dissipater, with a diameter of 0.05 m was made. A 3D scanner was also used for an accurate scour depth comparison for a length change of the baffle before and after installing the baffle. When the baffle was arranged in the shape of a V, the depth of scour decreased by 36% while the scour length decreased by 49% due to flow reduction compared to that before installing the baffle.
The rate and extent of coagulation of milk using fast acidification with 0.1 N HCl were monitored by changes in viscosity and turbidity at various temperatures and pH. Also the gelation rate of milk using slow acidification with D-glucono-${\delta}$-lactone was measured in a small strain rheological scanner. Coagulation of milk casein occurred in a specific pH range and was accompanied by an abrupt increase in viscosity at pH 5.0. Acid coagulation rate was enhanced by increasing temperature from $20^{\circ}C{\sim}50^{\circ}C$, and the maximum rate was shown around pH 5.0. The addition of salt ($CaCl_{2}$) reduced the maximum coagulation rate at all temperature ranges and shifted the pH ranges for maximum coagulation rate and the onset pH of coagulation. The onset of gelation and the rate of network formation during slow acidification were facilitated by Cl ion, but suppressed by SCN-ion, as indicated by the rate of rigidity development. The susceptibility to syneresis was greater in the gel made at lower temperature and around pH 4.6, while preheated milk at $90^{\circ}C$ for 5 min prior to acidification showed the same syneresis profile at all heating temperatures ($60{\sim}90^{\circ}C$).

The geometry of satellite image captured by linear CCD sensor is different from that of frame camera image. The fact that the exterior orientation parameters for satellite image with linear CCD sensor varies from scan line by scan line, causes the difference of image geometry between frame and linear CCD sensor. Therefore, we need the epipolar geometry for linear CCD image which differs from that of frame camera image. In this paper, we proposed a method of resampling linear CCD satellite image in epipolar geometry under the assumption that image is not formed in perspective projection but in parallel projection, and the sensor model is a 2D affine sensor model based on parallel projection. For the experiment, IKONOS stereo images, which are high resolution linear CCD images, were used and tested. As results, the spatial accuracy of 2D affine sensor model is investigated and the accuracy of epipolar resampled image with RFM was presented.

This paper presents an efficient image stitching method using preprocessing in order to generate a super resolution image. Two-dimensional (2D) scanners are consistently used in various areas but they have limitations such as paper sizes and materials. To overcome these problem with low-cost, an efficient imaging stitching method is proposed for producing a super resolution panorama image. To scan a very large sized paper using mobile phones, a simple portable cradle which fixes height is employed producing an input image set. To improve matching performance, a preprocessing method is introduced before searching correspondences. Then alpha blending is applied to an input image set to produce a super resolution panorama image. The proposed method is faster and easier than the existing method which is employed by Open CV. Experiment results show that the proposed method is three times faster and performs better than the existing method.
Purpose: To determine the conversion coefficients (CCs) from the dose-area product (DAP) value to effective dose in cone-beam CT. Materials and Methods: A CBCT scanner with four fields of view (FOV) was used. Using two exposure settings of the adult standard and low dose exposure, DAP values were measured with a DAP meter in C mode ($200mm{\times}179mm$), P mode ($154mm{\times}154mm$), I mode ($102mm{\times}102mm$), and D mode ($51mm{\times}51mm$). The effective doses were also investigated at each mode using an adult male head and neck phantom and thermoluminescent chips. Linear regressive analysis of the DAP and effective dose values was used to calculate the CCs for each CBCT examination. Results: For the C mode, the P mode at the maxilla, and the P mode at the mandible, the CCs were 0.049 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$, 0.067 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$, and 0.064 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$, respectively. For the I mode, the CCs at the maxilla and mandible were 0.076 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$ and 0.095 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$, respectively. For the D mode at the maxillary incisors, molars, and mandibular molars, the CCs were 0.038 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$, 0.041 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$, and 0.146 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$, respectively. Conclusion: The CCs in one CBCT device with fixed 80 kV ranged from 0.038 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$ to 0.146 ${\mu}Sv/mGycm^2$ according to the imaging modes and irradiated region and were highest for the D mode at the mandibular molar.
