Effect of $Al_2O_3$ capping layer on properties of MgO protection layer for plasma display panel

  • $Al_2O_3$ capping layer and MgO protective layer were deposited by electron beam evaporation method using single crystal source. Thickness of the capping layer, $Al_2O_3$, was varied from 5 nm to 10 nm. Surface morphology was observed by SEM and AFM before and after hydration. And microstructure of deposited $Al_2O_3$ layer and chemical shift of electron binding energy were also observed by high resolution TEM and XPS, respectively, after hydration. From these results, it was found that Mg atoms diffused into $Al_2O_3$ layer, reacted with moisture and formed $Mg(OH)_2$ during hydration. As thickness of $Al_2O_3$ increased, extent of hydration increased. $Al_2O_3$ capped MgO thin films and uncapped MgO thin films were deposited on AC-PDP test panel to characterize discharge properties. Although $Al_2O_3$ has poor discharge properties rather than MgO, because of many hydrated species on the surface of MgO, similar discharge properties were observed.

  • MACsec은 Layer 2에서 동작하는 암호화 기능이다. 최근 대두가 되고 있는 IoT(사물인터넷)와 같은 대규모 산업 분야의 장치들이 네트워크와 연결되면서 인터넷 트래픽이 급속도로 증가하고 있으며, 다양한 인터넷을 통한 공격의 위기에 놓여있다. 때문에 현재와 같이 트래픽이 증가하고 복잡해지는 상황에 특정 부분만이 아닌 트래픽 전체를 보호하는 MACsec 기술이 관심을 받고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 Layer 2 보안 기술인 MACsec을 기존 Layer2 네트워크에 간편하고 쉽게 추가할 수 있는 기술인 MACsec 어댑터를 설계한다.

H2S Micro Gas Sensor Based on a SnO2-CuO Multi-layer Thin Film

  • This paper proposes a micro gas sensor for measuring $H_2S$ gas. This is based on a $SnO_2$-CuO multi-layer thin film. The sensor has a silicon diaphragm, micro heater, and sensing layers. The micro heater is embedded in the sensing layer in order to increase the temperature to an operating temperature. The $SnO_2$-CuO multi layer film is prepared by the alternating deposition method and thermal oxidation which uses an electron beam evaporator and a thermal furnace. To determine the effect of the number of layers, five sets of films are prepared, each with different number of layers. The sensitivities are measured by applying $H_2S$ gas. It has a concentration of 1 ppm at an operating temperature of $270^{\circ}C$. At the same total thickness, the sensitivity of the sensor with multi sensing layers was improved, compared to the sensor with one sensing layer. The sensitivity of the sensor with five layers to 1 ppm of $H_2S$ gas is approximately 68%. This is approximately 12% more than that of a sensor with one-layer.

2-차원 MMFF 모델을 이용한 2-계층 부호화 영상 트래픽의 모델링 및 성능 분석 (2-D MMFF Model and Performance Analysis of 2-layer coded Video Traffic Sources)

  • In this paper, a model for two-layered video traffic is proposed. The performance analysis of the proposed model and the effects of two-layer coding scehemes in ATM networks are also studied. ATM-based networks give the possibility to support image codingat variable bit rate(VBR). Two layer coding is one of the very promising methods among many proposed methods to compensate the cell loss, the major drawback in ATM networks. From the experimental data of the 2-layer coded video traffics, it is observed that traffic patterns of base layer and enhanced layer are highly correlate to each other, when constant image quality is kept. With this observation, coded two layered video traffic can be modeled as 2-dimensional Markov chain. The model well fit the real experimental data. The model was used for the analysis of the performance of statistical multiplexer with priorites in ATM networks.

Growth and Structural Characterization of Single Layer Dichalcogenide $MoS_2$

  • Synthesis of novel two dimensional materials has gained tremendous attention recently as they are considered as alternative materials for replacing graphene that suffers from a lack of bandgap, a property that is essential for many applications. Single layer molybdenum disulfide ($MoS_2$) has a direct bandgap (1.8eV) that is promising for use in next-generation optoelectronics and energy harvesting devices. We have successfully grown high quality single layer $MoS_2$ by a facile vapor-solid transport route. As-grown single layer $MoS_2$ was carefully characterized by using X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy and electrical transport measurement. The results indicate that a high quality single layer $MoS_2$ can be successfully grown on silicon substrate. This may open up great opportunities for the exploration of novel nanoelectronic devices.

하해혼성 충적층 논토양 작토층과 경반층의 토양특성 (Soil Characteristic of Plow and Compaction Layer in Fluvio-marine Deposit Paddy Soil)

  • 벼 재배시 하해혼성층 논토양의 전북통과 지산통 작토층과 경반층의 특성을 2년간(2005~2006)조사 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 하해혼성층적층 대표토양인 전북통과 곡간충적층 대표토양인 지산통을 10개소에서 조사한 결과 작토심은 전북통 12.6 cm, 지산통 12.7 cm 이었고 플라우 경운깊이는 120필지에서 조사한 결과 10.5 cm 이었으며 전북통에서 경도와 작토심과는 부의 상관을, 경도와 경반층 두께와는 정의 상관을 나타냈다. 경반층 경도는 전북통 $14.7kg\;cm^{-2}(25.3mm)$, 지산통 $8.7kg\;cm^{-2}(22.1mm)$ 이었고, 두께는 전북통 22.3 cm, 지산통 17.8 cm 이었으며 경반층 출현깊이는 전북통 15 cm, 지산통 20 cm에 있었다. 경반층 지온은 작토층과의 차이를 보면 전북통에서는 봄 $-2.0^{\circ}C$, 여름 $-2.5^{\circ}C$, 가을 $-1.0^{\circ}C$를 지산통은 봄 $-2.1^{\circ}C$, 여름 $-1.8^{\circ}C$, 가을 $-0.7^{\circ}C$를 나타냈고 전북통에서 산화환원전위차 변화는 작토층은 유수형성기부터 환원상태를 경반층은 출수후기까지 산화상태를 나타냈다. 토양물리성은 두 토양통 공히 경반층에서 용적밀도, 고상율이 높고 공극율, 기상율이 낮았다. 또한 토양화학성은 경반층에서 총질소가 낮았고, 유기물 및 유효 인산함량이 적은 반면에 pH가 높고, 유효규산, 치환성칼슘 및 마그네슘 함량이 많았다. 양이온치환용량은 전북통에서 작토층 및 경반층 비슷한 경향이었으나 지산통은 경반층에서 다소 낮은 경향을 나타냈다. 무기태질소 함량은 토양통 공히 작토층에서 많았고, 가용성 미량성분 함량은 경반층에서 많았으며 지산통에서 많은 경향을 나타냈다. 감수심은 전북통에서 심경구, 지산통 경운구는 로타리구보다 빠르고, 계절별 감수심 변화는 6월 하순까지는 감수심이 빨랐으나 7~8월에는 1~3 mm로 늦었으며 9월부터는 빠른 경향을 나타냈다. 벼 뿌리분포는 로타리 25 cm, 심경 30 cm, 경운 20 cm까지 신장하였고, 출수기 뿌리 건물중은 심경>로타리>경운 순으로 무거웠다.

저온 박막 공정으로 제작된 Au 적층형 다층 투명전극의 결정성장 거동과 광-전기적 특성 (Study on the Crystal Growth Behavior and Opto-Electrical Properties of Transparent Conducting Oxide Films with Au-Interlayer Fabricated by Using a Low-temperature Process)

  • Transparent conducting oxide films like ITO/Au/ITO and AZO/Au/AZO were fabricated with a sputter at a low-temperature of less then $70^{\circ}C$ and their crystallization and opto-electrical properties were studied. X-ray diffractiometry showed that single-ITO layer was amorphous, whereas, ITO of ITO/Au/ITO multi-layer was crystal. The ITO crystallization and its orientation depended on Au crystallization. Surface roughness of the ITO-multi-layers were in the range of 29-88% of that of ITO-single layer. ITO on amorphous gold layer had more rough surface than ITO on crystal gold. The gold layer between ITO improved electrical conductivity. Carrier density, mobility, resistivity and sheet resistance of ITO-single layer were $2.3{\times}10^{19}/cm^3$, $85{\times}cm^2$/Vs, $31{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$, and $310{\times}{\Omega}/cm^2$, respectively. Those of ITO/Au/ITO-multi-layers depended on Au-interlayer-thickness, which were in the range of $3.6{\times}10^{19}{\sim}4.2{\times}10^{21}/cm^3$, $43{\sim}85cm^2$/Vs, $0.17{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}25{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$, and $1.7{\sim}20{\times}{\Omega}/cm^2$, respectively. The sheet resistances of the single-layer ITO and the multi-layer ITO were 310 and $2.7{\sim}21{\Omega}/cm^2$, respectively. That of AZO/Au/AZO was $8.6{\Omega}/cm^2$, which was better than the single-layer ITO.

Color Simulation to Demonstrate the Effects of the Filter Layer with $CoAl_2O_4$ on Inner Face of CRT Panel

  • Nanosize cobalt aluminate($CoAl_2O_4$) power was coated as filter layer for us to improve the color purity and contrast performances on the inner face of CRT panel. We simulated color properties by measuring the transmittance and thickness of the coated filter layer. Contrast performance could be improved and color gamut was also changed by the selective light absorption of filter layer at 580${\sim}$605 nm.

  • 수직자기이방성을 갖는 [Pd/Co] 다층박막으로 구성된 스핀밸브 구조에서 비자성층(space layer, SL) Pd 또는 Cu의 두께와 다층박막의 반복층수 N에 따른 자기저항효과의 의존성을 연구하였다. 비자성층을 Pd보다 Cu로 사용하였을 때 더 큰 자기저항비를 얻었다. 그리고 Cu층과 고정층 사이에 Co층을 삽입하는 경우 약 3배가량 자기저항비가 증가하는 것을 관찰하였다. $Ta_{(2.1nm)}/[Pd_{(0.61)}/Co_{(0.23)}]_4/Cu_{(2.37)}/Co_{(t)}/[Pd_{(0.61)}/Co_{(0.23)}]_2/FeMn_{(10.6)}/Ta_{(2.1)}$ 구조에서 삽입된 Co층의 두께가 0.62nm 또는 1.01nm에서 최대의 자기저항비 7.4%를 얻었다.

Postoperative clinical outcomes and radiological healing according to deep and superficial layer detachment in first facet involving subscapularis tendon tear

  • Background: Subscapularis tendon insertion at the first facet has separate layers (deep and superficial). The purpose of this study is to evaluate postoperative clinical outcomes and radiological healing according to each layer of detachment in the first facet involving subscapularis tendon tear. Methods: Eighty-three patients who underwent arthroscopic repair due to First facet involving the scapularis tendon tear accompanying small to medium sized posterosuperior cuff tear were classified into three groups (group A: deep layer partial detachment, group B: deep layer complete detachment, but no superficial layer detachment, and group C: deep layer and superficial layer complete detachment). Subscapularis tendon healing was evaluated using computed tomography arthrogram and clinical result was evaluated using American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) shoulder score, Constant score and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) shoulder score. Results: Retear rate of the subscapularis tendon was 2.2%, 18.2%, and 33.3% in group A, group B, and group C, respectively. These rates showed statistically significant difference among the three groups, which were classified by deep and superficial layer detachment in the first facet (p=0.003). Group A showed significant difference in subscapularis tendon healing compared with group B and group C (p=0.018 and p<0.001, respectively), but there was no statistical difference between group B and group C (p=0.292). Regarding clinical outcomes, there was no significant difference among three groups in ASES and UCLA score at final follow-up (p=0.070 and p=0.106, respectively). Conclusions: Complete detachment of deep layer may be related with retear occurrence regardless with detachment of superficial layer, but clinical outcome may not be related with each layer detachment in the first facet involving subscapularis tendon tear.
