A Study on the Analysis of the Lightning Surge Characteristics of Arresters in a 154kV Substation (154kV 변전소에서 피뢰장치의 뇌서지특성 해석)

  • This paper describes the characteristic evaluation of 154kV lightning arrester developed by domestic technology. To prove the protective ability of lightning arrester developed, various overvoltages were analyzed for A and B arrester were being used now at 154kV air and gas insulation substation, and for arrester developed. The results obtained by the various simulations show that the developed arrester has the effective protective ability and reducing ability of the overvoltage as A and B arrester, nevertheless there are somewhat differences among three kinds of arresters. Accordingly, it is evaluated that the arrester developed by domestic technology secured reliability can be installed actually at 154kV substation. In this paper, EMTP/ATP was used for simulation.

Development of the 154kV optical fiber incorporated power cable (154kV급 전력-광복합케이블의 개발)

  • In this study, We developed the 154kV optical fiber incorporated power cable which is combined optical fibers with conventional 154kV power cable. Also, we developed optical unit that optical fiber is inserted in stainless tube. The optical unit was tested, and we got good results enough to safe optical fibers. Also we put the optical fiber incorporated power cable to the test of electrical characteristics and optical characteristics, we knew that the electrical characteristics were the same characteristics as conventional 154kV power cable and the transmission loss change was almost zero. The method of optical unit connection was examined.

  • 현재 제주지역 전력계통은 원형 모양의 다중계통으로 구성되어 있어 송전선로 고장 발생시 단일계통으로 운전됨에 따라 말단 측에 전압문제가 발생할 우려가 있을 뿐만 아니라, 대규모 풍력발전단지 조성 및 #2 HVDC 제주연계로 제주지역내 무효전력 수급 불균형 상황이 발생할 것으로 예상된다. 이에 따라 제주지역 전력계통 전압안정도 개선을 위하여 순동 무효전력 보상장치를 154kV 한라, 신제주변전소에 설치하기로 계획하였으며 154kV급 STATCOM(정지형 무효전력 보상장치)으로 결정되었다. 이번에 제주에 적용된 STATCOM은 미금변전소에 설치된 345kV급 STATCOM에 이어 국내기술로 개발된 설비로 154kV급으로는 처음 국내에 설치되었다. 제주지역 특성을 반영하여 변압기, 인버터 등 STATCOM 구성 주요기기에 대한 정격을 결정, 기술규격을 확정한 후 구매를 추진하였고 2011년 1월부터 설치를 착수하여 2011년 5월말 시운전 목표로 추진하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내에 최초로 적용되는 154kV급 STATCOM의 현장설치 주요과정에 대한 소개와 현장시험 주요항목 및 유의사항에 대해 기술하고 있다.

Development and Construction of 154kV Compact Substation Standard Model (154kV 콤팩트 변전소 표준모델 개발 및 실증)

  • Before 1970s, 154kV substations in Korea were built in outdoor steel structure types only. In early 1970s, Germany developed GIS and the first indoor GIS type substation was built in Korea in 1980. In 1998, 154kV indoor type substations were standardized into regular type and urban type which applied steel frames to structures. In 2002, this was re-standardized into five different types in detail. In 2009, 154kV compact substation design was developed and standardized and saved about 20% of the construction cost with new technology and methods. Compact substations were classified into three types ; urban type, multi-function type, and regular type. The first urban type compact substation, Jang-ki substation, was built in Kimpo in June, 2010. This paper would present the standard model of 154kV compact substation and the way of improving facilities for the first compact substation.

  • DAPAS (Development of Advanced Power system by Applied Superconductivity technologies) program that the, superconductivity national program has been started one of the 21C frontier programs from 2001 in Korea. The 3rd phase of DAPAS program was started at April 2007, and the ultimate goal of HTS cable project is to develop 154kV, 1GVA class HTS cable. The structure of 154kV, 1GVA HTS cable is single core with cold dielectric insulation. The cable core consists of the former, conduction layer, electrical insulation layer, shielding layer. The cable cryostat consists of two corrugated seamless aluminum tubes as its high sealing reliability, the tubes separated through a spacer arrangement. Outdoor termination was developed by LS cable and cryogenic system by CVE for 154kV, 1GVA class HTS cable. The 154kV, 1GVA HTS cable will be installed and be tested in KEPCO Gochang Testing Center from June 2010.

Intracellular CD154 Expression Reflects Antigen-specific $CD8^+\;T$ Cells but Shows Less Sensitivity than Intracellular Cytokine and MHC Tetramer Staining

  • A recent report showed that analysis of CD154 expression in the presence of the secretion inhibitor Brefeldin A (Bref A) could be used to assess the entire repertoire of antigen-specific $CD4^+\;T$ helper cells. However, the capacity of intracellular CD154 expression to identify antigen-specific $CD8^+\;T$ cells has yet to be investigated. In this study, we compared the ability of intracellular CD154 expression to assess antigen-specific $CD8^+\;T$ cells with that of accepted standard assays, namely intracellular cytokine IFN-${\gamma}$ staining (ICS) and MHC class I tetramer staining. The detection of intracellular CD154 molecules in the presence of Bref A reflected the kinetic trend of antigen-specific $CD8^+\;T$ cell number, but unfortunately showed less sensitivity than ICS and tetramer staining. However, ICS levels peaked and saturated 8 h after antigenic stimulation in the presence of Bref A and then declined, whereas intracellular CD154 expression peaked by 8 h and maintained the saturated level up to 24 h post-stimulation. Moreover, intracellular CD154 expression in antigen-specific $CD8^+\;T$ cells developed in the absence of $CD4^+\;T$ cells changed little, whereas the number of IFN-${\gamma}$-producing $CD8^+\;T$ cells decreased abruptly. These results suggest that intracellular CD154 could aid the assessment of antigen-specific $CD8^+\;T$ cells, but does not have as much ability to identify heterogeneous $CD4^+\;T$ helper cells. Therefore, the combined analytical techniques of ICS and tetramer staining together with intracellular CD154 assays may be able to provide useful information on the accurate phenotype and functionality of antigen-specific $CD8^+\;T$ cells.

Modal Identification and Seismic Performance Evaluation of 154kV Transformer Porcelain Bushing by Vibration Test (진동시험에 의한 154kV 변압기 부싱의 동특성 분석 및 내진성능 평가)

  • The power supply system is one of the most important infrafacilities which should maintain their inherent function during and after earthquakes. This study was performed to analyze dynamic characteristics and seismic performance of Korean typical 154kV transformer porcelain bushing. For the purpose of this study, actual 154kV porcelain bushings were selected and tested on the shaking table. The vibration tests consist of modal identification tests, seismic performance tests, and fragility tests. The sine sweep waves, artificial earthquake waves, and continuous resonant sine waves were used as shaking table motions. This paper describes the test specimens, shaking facilities, and test methods. Natural frequencies and damping ratios of the bushing have been evaluated from the experimental data. The failure mode and the performance level of the Korean transformer bushing have been first identified in this study.

Measurement and Analysis of Electric Filed Distributions under 154[kV] Overhead Tranamission Lines (154[KV] 가공송전선로 아래에서 전장분포의 측정과 분석)

  • In this paper, the results of the measurement and analysis of extremely low freqency(ELF) eletric field in the vicinity of 154[kV] overhad transmission lines have been described. The planar-type electric field sensor has been fabricated by three dimensional structure with special consideration of taking the power frequency and lower components. The calibration experiments have been carried out according to the procedures of IEEE recommendation. The electric field measuring system has the frequency bandwidth of 7[Hz] to 2.7[MHz] and the response sensitivity of 0.094[mV/V/m]. Also the practical measurements of electric field under an 154[kV] double corcuit overhead transmission lines have been made abd abalyzed. It was known that the lateral electric field profiles under an 154[kV] double circuit overhead transmission lines show the asymmetrical distributions owing to the environmental metal frame structures and their maximum electric field magnitude is less than 3[kV/m]. It can be concluded that the measured results of the electric fields satisfy with all limits or guide -lines of the various authorized international institutes' recommendations.
