In this paper, a new method for reducing harmonic in input AC line currents of converter presents, which is the multi-pulse converter circuit without the input transformer. This system can reduce the harmonic like conventional 12-pulse converter. Both the bridge circuits are controlled with the shifted firing angle and connected 2 tap inter-phase reactor. Using 2 tap changing on inter-phase reactor, the input current is controlled with the different two values in order to make the input current waveform 12 pulses.
In this paper, a predictive current control of 12-pulse parallel connected dual converter system with interphase transfromer(IPT) is presented. Firstly, 12-pulse parallel connected dual converter system and the predictive current control of this system is discussed. And the validity of the presented system and the excellence of the predictive current control response is proved through the simyulation and experiment result.
In this paper, a new mehtod of reducing harmonics that involved in input AC line currents or in output DC voltage of the converter system is presented. which is due mainly to the quipment of 2-3 switching taps on interphase reactor. In case that the 3 tap method is applicable to conventional 12 pulse converter, it could not bring to an effect of reducing harmonics under firing angle 15\ulcorner To solve these problems, 24 pulse or 36 pulse converter is controlled by microprocessor. The former is performed in 2 tap method when \ulcorneris less than 15\ulcorner the latter in 3 tap method when it is more then 15\ulcorner Therefore the originality of this paper liea in microprocessor based equipment of the 2-3 switching taps on interphase reactor. I applied this method to the 12 pulse converter, and proved validity of that theoretically and experimentally.
This paper deals with pulse multiplication in zigzag connected autotransformer based 12-pulse AC-DC converters feeding vector controlled induction motor drives (VCIMD) for improving the power quality at the point of common coupling (PCC) without using a Zero-Sequence-Blocking-Transformer (ZSBT). The proposed 24-pulse AC-DC converter is based on the principle of DC ripple re-injection technique for pulse multiplication and harmonic mitigation. The design of the autotransformer is carried out for the proposed AC-DC converter and the effect of load variation on VCIMD is also studied to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed AC-DC converter. Test results from a laboratory developed prototype, along with simulated results, are presented to validate the design and model of the proposed 24-pulse AC-DC converter.
In this paper, a 24-pulse AC-DC converter is designed, modeled, simulated, and developed to feed non-isolated varying loads. The proposed AC-DC converter configuration consists of an auto-transformer based on zigzag connection to overcome current harmonic problems in AC mains. It improves power quality at AC mains and it meets IEEE-519 standard requirements at varying loads. A set of power quality indices on input AC mains and on DC buses for a load fed from 6-pulse and 12-pulse AC-DC converters is also given to compare their performance. It is observed that input current total harmonic distortion(THD) of less than 8% is possible with the proposed topology of AC-DC converter at varying loads.
In this paper, a new method for reducing harmonics in input AC line currents of converter is presented, which is due mainly to the equipment of 2-4 switching taps on interphase reactor. When this method is applicable to conventional 12 pulse converter, the 24 pulse converter, the 24 pulse or 48 pulse converter is controlled by firing angles. The former is performe in 2 tap method when less than 15 degrees, and the letter in 4tap method when more than 15 degrees. Therefore, the proposed method has the advantages of reducing harmonics in full range of control angle and comparison with the conventional 3 tap method. We proved the validity of that theoretically and experimentally.
This paper proposes a 36-pulse back-to-back voltage source converter using four sets of 12-pulse bridges with pulse-Interleaving auxiliary circuit. The proposed back-to-back voltage source converter has an independent control capability of active power and reactive power at the at connection point. The principle of increasing the number of pulses was analyzed using theoretical approach. The operational feasibility of proposed system was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The proposed back-to-back converter can be widely used for the HVDC and FACTS devices.
In this paper, the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method for lead battery of the solar cell generator equipment is proposed. And we propose the control circuit and design method of insulated switching mode convert type pulse charger by fly-back convert method in the lead battery. The proposed system can minimize the current consumption by digital pulse. Also the proposed system can generate the constant 10[KHz] frequency, transmit the signal with main control system in the power control system. And it supervises the state of lead battery using one chip micro processor. The proposed the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by the fly-back converter method can charge fast and stabilize lead battery with nominal value 12[V], 20[AH]. Also we propose the design procedure of the power control circuit for turn ratio of fly-back inductor and determining method of values such as the charging current, bulk current, partial current, over current value and fixed charging voltage. The experiment results for the voltage and current wave for partial, bulk, over and fixed charging period show the good charging effect and performance. And the PCB and internal coupling diagram of the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method is presented.
This paper shows a asymmetrically controlled method for the simultaneous control of real and reactive power generated by Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES). Asymmetrically controled 12 pulse converter has been proposed in this paper for harmonic reduction of transformer primary current.
