  • Let R be a commutative ring with $1{\neq}0$ and let $\mathcal{H}$ = {R|R is a commutative ring and Nil(R) is a divided prime ideal}. If $R{\in}\mathcal{H}$, then R is called a ${\phi}$-ring. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of ${\phi}$-torsion modules, ${\phi}$-flat modules, and ${\phi}$-von Neumann regular rings.

  • Let R be a prime ring, I a nonzero ideal of R and n a fixed positive integer. If R admits a generalized derivation F associated with a derivation d such that c for all x, $y{\in}I$. Then either R is commutative or n = 1, d = 0 and F is the identity map on R. Moreover in case R is a semiprime ring and $(F([x,\;y]))^n=[x,\;y]$ for all x, $y{\in}R$, then either R is commutative or n = 1, $d(R){\subseteq}Z(R)$, R contains a non-zero central ideal and for all $x{\in}R$.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with $1{\neq}0$. In this paper, we introduce the concept of 2-absorbing primary ideal which is a generalization of primary ideal. A proper ideal I of R is called a 2-absorbing primary ideal of R if whenever $a,b,c{\in}R$ and $abc{\in}I$, then $ab{\in}I$ or $ac{\in}\sqrt{I}$ or $bc{\in}\sqrt{I}$. A number of results concerning 2-absorbing primary ideals and examples of 2-absorbing primary ideals are given.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with total quotient ring K. Each monomorphic R-module endomorphism of a cyclic R-module is an isomorphism if and only if R has Krull dimension 0. Each monomorphic R-module endomorphism of R is an isomorphism if and only if R = K. We say that R has property (${\star}$) if for each nonzero element $a{\in}R$, each monomorphic R-module endomorphism of R/Ra is an isomorphism. If R has property (${\star}$), then each nonzero principal prime ideal of R is a maximal ideal, but the converse is false, even for integral domains of Krull dimension 2. An integral domain R has property (${\star}$) if and only if R has no R-sequence of length 2; the "if" assertion fails in general for non-domain rings R. Each treed domain has property (${\star}$), but the converse is false.

  • Let R be a commutative semiring with identity and M be a unitary R-semimodule. Let 𝜙 : 𝒮(M) → 𝒮(M) ∪ {∅} be a function, where 𝒮(M) is the set of all subsemimodules of M. A proper subsemimodule N of M is called 𝜙-prime subsemimodule, if r ∈ R and x ∈ M with rx ∈ N \𝜙(N) implies that r ∈ (N :R M) or x ∈ N. So if we take 𝜙(N) = ∅ (resp., 𝜙(N) = {0}), a 𝜙-prime subsemimodule is prime (resp., weakly prime). In this article we study the properties of several generalizations of prime subsemimodules.

  • Let M be a finite commutative nilpotent algebra over a perfect field k of prime characteristic p and let $M^p$ be the sub-algebra of M generated by $x^p$, $x{\in}M$. Eggert[3] conjectures that $dim_kM{\geq}pdim_kM^p$. In this paper, we show that the conjecture holds for $M=R^+/I$, where $R=k[X_1,\;X_2,\;{\cdots},\;X_t]$ is a polynomial ring with indeterminates $X_1,\;X_2,\;{\cdots},\;X_t$ over k and $R^+$ is the maximal ideal of R generated by $X_1,\;X_2,{\cdots},\;X_t$ and I is a monomial ideal of R containing $X_1^{n_1+1},\;X_2^{n_2+1},\;{\cdots},\;X_t^{n_t+1}$ ($n_i{\geq}0$ for all i).

  • An $n{\times}n$ matrix A over a commutative ring is strongly clean provided that it can be written as the sum of an idempotent matrix and an invertible matrix that commute. Let R be an arbitrary commutative ring, and let $A(x){\in}M_n(R[[x]])$. We prove, in this note, that $A(x){\in}M_n(R[[x]])$ is strongly clean if and only if $A(0){\in}M_n(R)$ is strongly clean. Strongly clean matrices over quotient rings of power series are also determined.

  • We study the structure of rings whose factor rings modulo nonzero proper ideals are right duo; such rings are called right FD. We first see that this new ring property is not left-right symmetric. We prove for a non-prime right FD ring R that R is a subdirect product of subdirectly irreducible right FD rings; and that R/N∗(R) is a subdirect product of right duo domains, and R/J(R) is a subdirect product of division rings, where N∗(R) (J(R)) is the prime (Jacobson) radical of R. We study the relation among right FD rings, division rings, commutative rings, right duo rings and simple rings, in relation to matrix rings, polynomial rings and direct products. We prove that if a ring R is right FD and 0 ≠ e2 = e ∈ R then eRe is also right FD, examining that the class of right FD rings is not closed under subrings.

  • In this paper, we introduce and study regular rings relative to the hereditary torsion theory w (a special case of a well-centered torsion theory over a commutative ring), called w-regular rings. We focus mainly on the w-regularity for w-coherent rings and w-Noetherian rings. In particular, it is shown that the w-coherent w-regular domains are exactly the Prüfer v-multiplication domains and that an integral domain is w-Noetherian and w-regular if and only if it is a Krull domain. We also prove the w-analogue of the global version of the Serre-Auslander-Buchsbaum Theorem. Among other things, we show that every w-Noetherian w-regular ring is the direct sum of a finite number of Krull domains. Finally, we obtain that the global weak w-projective dimension of a w-Noetherian ring is 0, 1, or ∞.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity and m, n be positive integers. In this paper, we introduce the class of weakly (m, n)-prime ideals generalizing (m, n)-prime and weakly (m, n)-closed ideals. A proper ideal I of R is called weakly (m, n)-prime if for a, b ∈ R, 0 ≠ amb ∈ I implies either an ∈ I or b ∈ I. We justify several properties and characterizations of weakly (m, n)-prime ideals with many supporting examples. Furthermore, we investigate weakly (m, n)-prime ideals under various contexts of constructions such as direct products, localizations and homomorphic images. Finally, we discuss the behaviour of this class of ideals in idealization and amalgamated rings.
