Design of Edutainment Contents Using Motion Recognition for Enhancing Sociability and Visual Perception of Children (유아의 시지각 및 사회성 향상을 위한 동작 인식 기반 에듀테인먼트 콘텐츠 개발)

  • With progress in emerging new media technology and associated device, there is growing interest in a new type of contents in the filed of children education. In this research, we developed a edutainment content for enhancing sociability and visual perception of children exploiting kinect. Recreating what is visually perceived with physical movement is adopted to develop visual perception. It is also designed such that one's sociability can be enhanced through experiencing natural physical contact and collaboration while interacting with the developed content. The prototype of the content was created through development of character to boost interest, a short animation for storytelling, and interactive programming. In the second pilot test which was done with the content improved through the first pilot test, it was observed that children easily played with it and actively participated in experiencing it. From this observation, it is expected that the developed content may work as a promising edutainment content which fosters children to enhance visual perception and sociability through natural interaction.

An Analysis on the Visual Harmony of the Environmental Sculpture in Urban Streetscapes (도시가로 경관에 있어 환경조형물의 시각적 조화성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the basic guideline of the environmental sculptures to improve the quality level of the urban surroundings. The concept of the environmental sculptures was established and their roles in urban street scenary were investigated. And then, the relationships between the visual satisfaction and the elements which affect the visual harmony of Urban street scenary were analysed. The result of this study can be summarized as follows; The visual satisfaction was shown high at the sculptures itself with good shape and esthetic sense, and the harmony among the surroundings was estimated highly at the sculptures of good harmony with the floor surface, building and the elements surrounded it. And the highest satisfaction was shown at the scenary with the dean images and visual stability. The correlation of the degree of satisfaction with 5 variables which effect the satisfaction of urban streetscape shows that the harmony of shape is the most important variable for urban street scenary.

  • Purchase of clothes has recently picked up pace at mobile fashion shopping malls. One of the biggest weak points is that consumers can't coordinate clothes. Since individuals increasingly want to make coordination, a fashion coordination system to satisfy the demand should be developed. As the technology of digital clothing which is about reproducing dresses using computer graphic has been activated in the fashion industry, many changes in consumers' life patterns and interests in fashion shopping malls are taking place. Some consumers are increasingly more keenly interested in shopping on the Internet and Smart phones than in offline stores. This study was conducted to understand production of iPhone-based augmented reality fashion fitting contents which is suitable for Koreans' body shape. This system is about designing and materializing UI(User Interface), an augmented reality fitting system, so that users can confirm if they look nice with those fashion items using Smart phones. A new fashion shopping method satisfying user convenience was suggested using the materialized system.

  • Recently, it isn't hard to find split screen effects in films, TV dramas and commercial films which composes a screen with different frames of images. The TV series '24' which was produced in USA in the year 2001 and is expecting the release of its 7th series next year frequently exhibits such split screen methods. '24' is a TV drama of the events taking place in one day which is produced in the form of real-time mode and consists of 24 episodes which is an hour long. Using split screen method, the drama effectively delivers the events simultaneously taking place at different locations. Moreover, the divided frames of each screen relates to one another by means of collision, synthesis and ect. which captures the vision of the spectators. This study aims at analysing the relationships between the frames which consists split screen scenes in the drama '24' and discover its eye capturing attractions using film montage theories.

  • With the advancement of information and communication technology, the market of Internet-based fashion/coordination shopping malls have been considerably increasing year by year. As the number of these Internet shopping malls increases, the operators of the malls tend to decorate the first page of their websites with a variety of events and samples of the best-fit upper-lower clothing pairs. They try to provide visitors of their web sites with products that can induce fresh impression by modifying the first page on a daily or a few days basis. If pairs of best-fit upper-lower clothes for various products available in online shopping malls can be calculated and marked, it would help not only to make the first page of the malls more appealing but also to enable users to purchase linked products in a more convenient way, replacing the recommendations usually made by offline clerks. In the paper, we present the results of designing and implementing an upper-lower clothes matching system in which expert coordinators register matching-value of upper and lower clothes in the form of attribute-value matrix.

Autobiographic Research on the Life of an Assistant Professor of Science Education at a College of Education (한 사범대학 과학 교육 조교수의 삶에 대한 자서전적 연구)

  • What is the life of an assistant professor working at a college of education look like? The purpose of this paper is to describe and understand the life of an assistant professor as a science education researcher and as a teacher educator from exploring his life in a local national university. The researcher (I) conducted an autobiographic research in which I reconstructed and reflected my life by myself. I collected data/records on the life of myself, and developed a framework to classify them. The life of an assistant professor was categorized into the official life at the university and the personal life, and the former was sorted into education, research, and service and the latter was divided into personal and family. From the various profiles of my life, I found the main theme of 'change' and 'learning,' from which I reconstructed my life in narratives. I can express myself as an assistant professor with 'from myself to others,' 'balancing society and isolation,' and 'increasing room to maneuver through continuous learning.' I reflected my life and the role of a professor at a college of education, and discussed the educational implication of the result.

A Study on the Skirt Grading Rule According to Somatotype (스커트의 체형별 그레이딩룰에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the skirt grading rule for different somatotypes. For this study 9 subjects were classified three types according to the shape of front hips such as diamond, standard, heart. Skirts pattern were made by Moonwha grading method for traditional grading rule. For each somatotypes, skirt pattern were graded by new grading rule. The sensory evaluations were practiced for appearance and function. At the result, comparing between the new grading rule and traditional grading rule, new grading rule was fitter than the traditional grading rule. And diamond type was distinctively better than the other somatotype at sensory evaluation appearance. For pattern making of diamond type it had better use the new grading rule that was considered the characteristics of body shape.

Quantitative Analysis of Landscape in Tokyusan National Park (덕유산 국립공원 경관에 대한 계량적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the objective basic data for applying to development and conservation management of the national park through the quantitative analysis of the visual quality included in the and physical environment of the Tokyusan National Park. For this, spatial images and structures, of natural elements have been analyzed by factor analysis algorithm, and degree of visual quality has been measured mainly through questionnaries. Result of this study can be summarized as follows. Factors covering the spatial image of the Tokyusan National Park landscape have been found to be the overall synthetic evaluation, appeal, spatial, natural quality and dignity factors such as the overall synthetic evaluation, spatial and appeal yield high factor scores. The main factors determining the degree of visual quality are the clearness valley, peculiarity of configuration, natural of trail, harmony of suitable artificial planting and temple.

A Study on the Quantitative Diagnosis Model of Personal Color (퍼스널컬러의 정량적 진단 모델 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a model that can quantitatively diagnose personal color. Representative color systems for personal colors have limitations in that it oversimplify personal color diagnosis types or it is difficult to distinguish objective differences between diagnosis types. To develop a brand new color system that enhances this, a PCCS color system capable of logical color was introduced and reclassified based on the four main properties of color. Twenty diagnostic types, which are more diverse than the existing color system were proposed and a quantitative method was used to evaluate the degree of harmony with a subject to find an optimized type of subject. The experimenter's individual competency and subjective intervention were minimized by devising a matrix in which a type suitable for the subject is derived when the coded evaluation result is substituted. Finally a quantitative diagnosis model of personal color consisting of three stages: property diagnosis, coding, and seasonal diagnosis was constructed. It can be seen that this will give diversity, reliability, and accuracy to the existing diagnostic methods.

Asymmetric Temporal Privilege Management on Untrusted Storage Server (네트워크 스토리지에서 비대칭키 방식의 시 분할 권한 권리 (ATPM))

  • We consider a network storage model whose administrator can not be fully trusted. In this model, we assume that all data stored are encrypted for data confidentiality and one owner distributes the decryption key for each time period to users. In this paper, we propose three privilege management schemes. In the first scheme, called Temporal Privilege Management (TPM), we use a symmetric encryption based on one-way function chains for key encapsulation. In the second scheme, called Asymmetric Temporal Privilege Management (ATPM), anyone can encrypt the data using the public key of owner, but only privileged users can decrypt the encrypted data. Finally, we present a scheme to restrict writers' privilege using ID-based signatures in ATPM. In our schemes, the privilege managements are based on the time and the addition of users is efficient. Specially, applying TPM and ATPM, we can solve the back-issue problem.
