Characteristics of Urban households that want to move to rural area after retirement. (은퇴 후 귀촌 희망 가구의 사회경제적 특성 및 지역 간 차이 분석)

  • Urban household's interest in moving to rural area after retirement have been increasing. Most of them live in rural areal for the sake of pleasant natural environment such as fresh air, clean water. The purpose of the study is to analyse characteristics of them and factors affecting their decision. In 2010, about 27% of urban households wish to migrate to rural area after retirement. The results from the random intercept binary logit model implies that 40~50 age, less high-school graduate and middle-income households are more likely to move. And households are more concerned with residential environment-noise, air, water- than house condition. Also, more people have moved to rural in the region. more households wish to move. It implies that information about urban-to-rural migration and life in rural area affect people's positive attitude to move to rural after their retirement.

  • 2011년 올 여름은 그 어느 해보다 비로 인한 피해 손실이 직 간접적으로 크게 우리 국민들을 아프게 하고 있다. 많은 지역에서 피해가 발생했지만 우리나라 수도 서울이 그것도 랜드마크 지역으로 많은 사람들이 거주하기를 희망하는 소위 강남권에 위치한 주거지에서 산사태로 인해 많은 인명피해가 발생했다는 것에 묘한 느낌이 든다. 이것이 자연재해든지 인재든 간에 환경변화에 대한 준비가 필요하다. 양계장도 환경변화에 따른 사양관리로 생산성 증대를 이루길 바란다.

A Study on Characteristic Factors of Demanders Influencing the Intention to Move in Public Rental Housing of Seoul Citizens (서울시민 공공임대주택 입주의사에 영향을 미치는 수요자 특성 요소에 관한 연구)

  • The research study conducted logistics regression analysis through HLM (Hierarchical Linear Modeling) and presented the value of the outcome in order to investigate characteristic factors of demanders which influence the intention to move into public rental housing. (1) The results of the regression analysis of characteristic factors of household and housing were analyzed as having the significant effect on the intention to move in public rental housing, according to residents moving in monthly rent housing, residents' occupations, rental housing, the number of household, the location of surrounding public rental housing, monthly average income, children's educational level, the number of children, the types of housing and one's own house, in order, out of the types of housing tenure. (2) The results of the regression analysis of characteristic factors of the conditions of location were analyzed that out of the conditions of location of the top five areas in public rental rates, what influences significant effects on the intention to move in public rental housing is the location of surrounding rental housing, income, the number of household and children, children's educational level, job state, housing types, ones' own house, rent housing, monthly rent housing, in order. (3) In case of Seoul, Expanding public rental housing is inevitable in order to stabilize ordinary people's housing stability, owing to the high and rental prices of private housing. Nevertheless, an accurate analysis of the intention to move in public rental housing has not been conducted. Eventually, the research was, thus, conducted, based on the fact that the preference on public housing is low. According to the analytic results of the study, it is required for the government institutions and agencies should consider individual and local characteristics and provide an alternative that meets the real situation, in order to help ordinary citizens with low incomes stabilize housing.

The Needs of Housing Contents in Highschool Home Economics among Students (고등학생의 '가정과학' 주생활 단원 내용 요구도)

  • The purpose of this paper is to find out the needs of housing contents in highschool Home Economics among students. The 105 housing contents and topics were chosen from the 3 textbooks and related references. The number of 516 questionnaire from 8 areas were used to analyze. Analyses indicated that respondents were more likely to favor Home Economics subject and one out of five wanted to select it. Average needs of the housing contents was above middle(3.4) and these was a little difference among 3 middle units in housing. The most needed unit was housing design. There was a more wide difference in 19 small units than in middle ones, ranged $3.00\sim3.91$. Individual contents showed the most variousness in needs from 2.89 to 4.30 in the middle unit of housing and environments, 3.00 to 4.01 in housing design, and 2.68 to 3.91 in housing management. The needs of additional contents were about the same as those textbook contents and it indicated that new textbook needs to adopt the newly demanded housing contents. Some of individual, family, and environmental characteristics were significantly related to the students needs. The higher positive attitude such as favor, interest, and selecting of the subject was related to the higher needs of housing contents. Residential areas and neighboring were also related to most of the needs of individual housing contents.

An Investigative Study on Middle School Students, Parents and Industrial Institutions for the Establishment of Vocational High Schools in Asan Area (아산지역 특성화고 설치에 대한 중학교 학생, 학부모, 산업체의 요구 조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this research are to investigate and analyze requests of middle school students, parents and people in charge of human resources of industrial institutions and to suggest implications which are necessary to establish vocational high schools in Asan area. To achieve them, demands, for the establishment of vocational high schools, requests of desirable department, area, etc. which are recognized by middle school students, parents and people in charge of human resources of industrial institutions in Asan-si were surveyed and analyzed. The subjects of the survey were students and parents who were selected from one third grade class out of each of all the middle schools of Ansan-si. Also, for the people in charge of human resources of industrial institutions, industrial institutions including more than 10 employees were firstly sampled and selected. The number of students analyzed is 484, parents 458, industrial institutions 81, the results are as follows. First, among the third graders, there were 18.5% students who wanted to enter vocational high schools and 72.6% students that replied saying they may enter if vocational schools are established in Asan-si. Among them, 8.8% students replied that they will definitely enter. Second, among the parents, 30.8% wanted their children to enter vocational high schools and 76.9% replied that they may enter if vocational high schools are established in Asan-si. Among them, 8.4% replied that their children will enter certainly. Third, people in charge of human resources of industrial institutions replied that they may recruit 98.8 percent of graduates of vocational high schools in Asan area. Among them, they replied that 17.3% will be recruited certainly. For the replies of recruitment time, there were 49.4% of 'within 1 year', 30.9% of 'within 1~5 years' and for working, there were 60.8% of 'mechanical operators and assembly workers' and 31.6% of 'technicians and functional workers'. Fourth, for the most preferred departments when establishing vocational high schools in Asan-si, middle school students wanted hospitality management, parents were for electricity and electronics, industrial institutions replied with vehicle mechanics. By affiliation, more than the half of respondents wanted industrial affiliation. Fifth, for the most preferred departments when establishing vocational high schools in Asan-si, middle school students and parents preferred Onyang-dong, industrial institutions preferred Dunpo-myeon. Results showed that the most desirable areas were in the vicinity of one's own residential area.

A Study on the Residential Environment and Residents' Consciousness of the Housing Complex Located in Waterfront -Focusing on Nishimiyahama and the southern part of Lake Biwa, Japan- (워터프런트에 입지하는 주거단지의 거주환경과 거주자의식에 관한 연구 -일본 니시미야하마지역과 비와코남부지역을 중심으로-)

  • The residential complexes in waterfront provide the residents with pleasantness and comfort with their scenety and view in the surrounding watersides. However, it is currently true that there has little been established any designing plan utilizing the environmental characteristics of the waterfront. In this study, a survey was conducted on the residents of a Japanese waterfront. in Nishimiyahama and Lake Biwa, and conducted a comparative and analytic investigation regarding water-friendly activities, residents' consciousness of the housing environment, and reasons for the choice of residenve. From the results, we were able to obtain some suggestive points resulting from the differences of the aforementioned. We also fully comprehended that there are some issues and needs for solution for the environmental characteristics in the waterfront as well as for the damage incurred by salt breeze and insects. In addition, we realized that scenery and view toward watersides are becoming the important factors in the residents' consciousness regarding the housing environment. In case of planning housing complexes located in the waterfront, we keenly understood that "the size of a room", "ventilation", "view and daily lighting", and "securing privacy" are having effects on the residents' consciousness of their housing.

Empirical Analyses on Intention to Live and Consumption Expenditure of Urban Residents in Neighboring Counties of Naepo New Town (도심 거주의향과 지역 내 소비지출에 관한 실증분석; 내포신도시 주변도시 도심거주민 의식조사를 중심으로)

  • This study is performed with the view point that a strategy to maintain the existing residents as well as to attract people outside is necessary in order to revitalize the downtown of an area. Empirical analyses of this study are focused on the residents in downtowns of the two counties, Hongsung and Yesan which are concerned of becoming hollow. According to the results, the residents who want to continue living in the downtown are the old and the owner-occupants of detached housing units while those who hope to leave to Naepo, a neighboring new town are in their 30's or high income-earners. Thus, policies such as renovating detached housing for the old are required. In addition, policies to reduce outflow of the people who are in their 30's or high income-earners are also needed. Especially, since the resident who is highly probable to leave is estimated to spend 553 thousand Korean Won per year in the downtown, on-going outflow of residents would weaken the local market and threaten the local economy. Consequently, local governments need to set up directions of urban renovation policies by considering decline in population, change in demographic structure, appropriate allocation of limited budget, and sustainable urban development based on empirical research results.

A Study on Necessity and Demands of Teachers and Students for Housing Contents in Technology.Home Economics Curriculum of the Middle School (중학교 기술.가정 교과의 주생활 영역 교과내용에 대한 교사와 학생의 필요성 및 요구도 -울산광역시를 중심으로-)

  • This study has its aim at suggesting new direction of our education to search different ways in housing contents by comparing the necessity perception and demands between teachers and students for housing contents in Technology Home Economics curriculum of middle school. To achieve this aim, I chose middle school teachers in charge of Technology Home Economics and male and female students who are in the first grade in high school in Ulsan. I sent e-mail, mail, and visited researcher to gather the data. I used SPSS +12 statistical package for frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test to analyze the data. Here is the result. First, In the part of application of living place, teachers had necessity perception in use and placement of furniture, and arrangement of objects. Students had necessity perception in the use and placement of furniture, the kind and choice of furniture. Also in the indoor environment and equipment part, both teachers and students had necessity perception in controlling of ventilation, temperature, and humidity. In the part of maintenance repair of housing, teachers had necessity perception in the need for maintenance management but students had necessity perception in house equipments and repair had high necessity perception Second, In housing-related general part, teachers demanded housing for elderly, disabled people, information about future housing and students demanded environmentally friendly living environment, housing for elderly, disabled people. In interior design part, teachers demanded in the expression of interior places through computer, the kind and characteristic of housing material and students demanded the way to reuse old furniture, kind and characteristic of housing material. In the part of housing preparation and occupation, teachers demanded the kind of housing-related occupation and students demanded the housing tax and the process of house purchase or concerned matter. Third, there were some difference of necessity perception and degree of demand between teachers and students. Teachers had higher necessity perception and demand in all part except in demand for housing equipment, maintenance, and environmentally friendly living environment.

The Educational Needs Analysis on Migration to Mountains Area by City Dwellers (도시민 대상 귀산촌 교육 요구도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the educational needs targeted at city dwellers with hope of migration to mountain areas. 80 city dwellers participating in the education program operated by Korea Forestry Promotion Institute were selected. Results showed that city dwellers had higher preference for the education including medium scale(20-40 persons)and the type of camp with field experience. Real experiences and knowledge and understanding of migration to rural area are the most important element of the qualifications of the program teachers. In the contents of education, city dwellers wanted the teaching programs about 'how to have forest land', 'how to produce the forest products', 'field experience' and 'forest tourism' and so on. In other words, city dwellers who wanted to move to mountain areas were interested in basic things for living. In addition, it will need to investigate people who have real experiences migrating to mountain areas and then it is necessary to discuss educational needs and supporting system helping people can settle in mountain areas.
