액정법을 이용한 휜-관 열교환기 휜의 열적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal Characteristics of Finned-tube Heat Exchanger by Using the Liquid Crystal Technique)

  • This study was discussed about the thermal characteristics of finned tube heat exchanger having two row used in the air-conditioning application. Pressure drop and heat transfer coefficient were measured and investigated for the 3 times models of plain fin. Also the temperature distribution and heat conduction in the fin was measured by using the liquid crystal method. The surface temperature of rear row was nearly constant, and heat conduction in the fin was stronger near the front row than the rear row.

경사진 충돌제트를 이용한 핀 휜 히트싱크의 열특성 연구 (Heat Transfer Characteristics of Inclined Jet Impinging on a Pin Fin Heat Sink)

  • An inclined jet impinging on a pin fin heat sink is proposed and investigated experimentally. To investigate the flow pattern, flow visualization using fluorescence and velocity measurement using particle image velocimetry(PIV) are conducted with water. The jet impinges over a wide span of the heat sink with a large recirculation in the upper free space and occasionally with another smaller one in the upstream corner. Further, thermal experimentation is conducted using air to obtain temperature profiles using a thermocouple rake in the air and using thermal image on the heat sink back plate, with impinging angles of 35, 45 and 55 degrees. The Reynolds number range based on the nozzle slot is varied from 1507 to 6405. The results show that impinging angle of 55 degree shows the largest heat transfer capability. The results of thermal experiment are compared and discussed with those of flow visualization.

휜-관 열교환기의 열별 열전달 계수 측정 (Heat Transfer Coefficients of Individual Rows for Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchangers)

  • The row-by-row heat transfer characteristics of fin-and-tube heat exchangers having wavy fins were experimentally investigated. Three samples having different rows (one, two and three) were tested. Results show that the heat transfer coefficient is strongly dependent on the tube row. The heat transfer coefficient of the first row is larger than those of second or third rows. However, the difference decreases as the Reynolds number increases. The heat transfer coefficients of the second and the third row are approximately the same, probably due to increased mixing of bulk flow by wavy channels. Although samples have different tube row, the heat transfer coefficients of same row are approximately the same.

자동차용 응축기의 휜 열전달 및 압력강하 특성 (Characteristics of Fin-Side Heat-Transfer and Pressure Drop in a Condenser for Automobile)

  • An experimental study was performed to determine the fin-side heat transfer and pressure drop of a condenser for automobile. Five sample with different fin height and louver angle were tested, 9mm, 8mm, 7.5mm, 5.4mm and 4.5mm. Results are presented as plot of Colburn j-factor(or heat transfer coefficients) and friction factor(or pressure drop) against the Reynolds number(or inlet air velocity) based on louver pitch, in the range of 110 to 480. The results show that both heat transfer and pressure drop on the fin are mainly affected by the louver angle in a lower range of air velocity, but, by the fin height in a higher range of air velocity. The performance of 5.4mm fin is the highest, compared to other fin sample.

  • Optimum fin effectiveness of geometrically and thermally asymmetric trapezoidal fins is represented as a function of the ratio of the fin bottom to top Biot numbers, the ratio of the fin tip to top Biot numbers and fin shape factor. Optimum fin effectiveness is taken as 98% of the maximum fin effectiveness by comparing the increasing rate of fin effectiveness with that of dimensionless fin length. For this analysis, two dimensional separation of variables method is used. Also, the value of the slope of upper surface of the fin and fin efficiency corresponding to optimum effectiveness are presented.

R410A 냉매를 사용한 열펌프용 열교환기의 형상에 따른 성능특성 연구 (A Study on Performance Characteristics of Heat Exchanger for Heat Pump with R410A Refrigerant)

  • The air and refrigerant side heat transfer performances are key parameters to improve heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger including the fan performance. Design of the fins, treatment of the tube inside, tube diameter and tube array effect heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is used as a condenser at cooling mode and used as an evaporator at heating mode in the heat pump system. The heat pump system uses R410A as the refrigerant. The heat exchangers are consisted with 7 mm diameter tubes with slit-type fins. The study was conducted with variation of arrangement of the refrigerant path and air flow rate and refrigerant pressure drop and heat transfer rate were measured with a code tester. The capacity of the 3 path heat exchanger is more efficient than 2 or 4 path heat exchangers in heating or cooling modes.

평판휜-관 응축기의 수치 시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation of Plate Finned-Tubes Condenser)

  • A simulation program of the plate finned-tubes condenser widely used in the air conditioning system was developed. The program took into account the variations of the flow properties and fluid friction factor of refrigerant, and the heat transfer coefficients of refrigerant and air sides. The program was applied to a copper tube condenser which has outside diameter of 10.05mm, inside diameter of 9.35mm, length of 5.20m and three rows arraied staggered. Simulation results were such that refrigerant was super-heated state from the entrance to the 0.14m point, two-phase flow from the 0.14m point to the 4.10m point, sub-cooled state from the 4.10m point to the outlet. The degree of sub-cooled was $6.1^{\circ}C$. The variations of refrigerant quality, temperature, pressure, velocity, specific enthalpy, specific volume and air temperature, tube temperature were showed.

  • The purpose of the present study is to investigate the flow resistance and the heat transfer characteristics of V type circular fin-tube heat exchanger. Four kinds of V type fin having the same fin area and the different span wise angle tested numerically. Test data for the heat transfer, pressure drop and fin temperature were shown and discussed. The pressure drop and heat transfer increased for decreasing the span wise angle up to 58% and 25% respectively.

  • In the present study, heat transfer characteristics of oil flow over offset strip fins were predicted by the numerical methods. Oil flow in the plate-fin passage was idealized by 2 dimensions. The flow patterns and heat transfer characteristics were predicted in details. Numerical results shows that the average convective heat transfer coefficients are almost independent on the raws of fins and affected by fin pitches. At the rear face of fin, there exists minimum point of heat transfer coefficients where stream are separated from the fin surfaces. The convective heat transfer coefficients were effected by separation bubbies which appeared at the wake region of offset strip fins.

휜-관 열교환기의 착.제상 거동에 대한 표면처리의 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of the Surface Treatment Effect on the Frosting/Defrosting Behavior of a Fin-Tube Heat Exchanger)

  • The effect of heat exchanger surface treatment on the frosting/defrosting behavior in a fin-tube heat exchanger is investigated experimentally. It is found that the hydrophilic surface mainly influences on the frosting behavior, however, the hydrophobic surface gives some influence on the defrosting behavior. In view of frosting performance, surface-treated heat exchanger with either hydrophilic or hydrophobic characteristic shows a little improvement in the thermal performance than the aluminium heat exchanger with no surface treatment. The result reveals that the heat exchanger with hydrophobic surface treatment is more effective in view of the defrosting efficiency and time. The amounts of residual water on the surface-treated heat exchangers are shown to be smaller than those of the bare heat exchanger, therefore further improvements on the performance of re-operations are expected.
