Analysis of EDCs by Mass Spectrometry and their Removal by Membrane Filtrations (질량분석법에 의한 내분비계 장애물질의 분석과 막 여과에 의한 제거)

  • As a number of potential endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) are released into the environment, recently growing attention has been drawn to them. Therefore sensitive and reliable analytical methods are essential to monitor those compounds. In this study, complementary CC-MS and LC-MS were employed to analyze the endocrine disrupters, and the results of two methods were compared for di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), benzylbutylphthalate (BBP), pentachlorophenol (PCP), and 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol (Bisphenol-A, or BPA). The results indicate that it was possible to lower the detection limits of EDCs by LC-MS. Also, LC-MS enabled to identify the EDCs as almost intact molecules. Furthermore, this study presented a nanofiltration membrane (MWCO 250) and a ultrafiltration membrane (MWCO 1,000) filtration system as methods far removing EDCs from drinking water containing $\gamma$-BHC, p,p'-DDE, BBP, p,p'-DDT, DEHP, PCP, and BPA. Cross-flow type nanofiltrations showed $100\%$ removal of EDCs, and the result implies that MWCO 250 nanofilter was sufficient for treatment of EDCs. The ratio of permeate flux to mass transfer coefficient of nanofiltration, high flux ultrafiltration, and low flux ultrafiltration with ultrapure water were 0.67, 3.4, and 0.44, respectively. It was found that nanofiltration and low flux ultrafiltration were operated at a diffusion dominant condition, and the high flux ultrafiltration was operated at a convection dominant condition. Furthermore, a diffusion dominant process attained reasonable rejection of EDCs. The removal in the ultrafiltration was depending on the molecular weight of an EDC, and the filtration was governed by diffusion-dominant hydrodynamic conditions.

Design of Indoor Electric Moving and Lifting Wheelchair with Minimum Rotation Radius and Obstacle Overcoming (최소 회전반경 및 장애물 극복형 실내 전동 이·승강 휠체어의 설계)

  • In this paper, a minimum rotation radius was designed and fabricated to overcome the threshold so that elderly or disabled people who have difficulty moving can move and transfer safely and conveniently in a narrow room. In the indoor environment, where the sedentary culture develops, this study aimed to provide convenience for passengers with fracture diseases, geriatric diseases, and other knee and waist diseases. First, links, seats, armrests, covers, motors, batteries, chargers, controllers, etc. were attached to the frame so that they could be moved and lifted indoors. The product design and structure were designed considering the user's environment and physical characteristics, and IoT functions were added. A driving experiment was performed to confirm the operating performance of the manufactured indoor moving and lifting wheelchair. The performance tests, such as continuous running time, turning radius, maximum actuator load, maximum lift height, sound pressure level, minimum sensing distance of the driving aid sensor, interworking of server and app programs, device compatibility, and duty cycle error rate, were performed. As a result of the test, the built-in wheelchair could achieve the performance test target of each item and operate successfully.

An Analysis of the Traffic Noise Measurement Plans of 'Apartment Complexes' - A Case on the North Riverside Expressway in Seoul - ('아파트단지' 교통소음측정방안에 관한 연구 - 강북 강변도로 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This study conducts a theoretical research on road traffic noise. Also, the domestic road noise forecast models were compared each other and analyzed with advanced countries' models to indicate the application possibility and problems. For the establishment of a general formula, we compared the forecasted value with the actual value applied in the formula proposed by the National Environment Institute, and examined the necessary improvement of the domestic road traffic noise forecast model. Also, a regression model was built to examine the relationship between traffic factors and noise. The traffic volume and speed are the main traffic factors used in this formula to affect the noise. From the results, it was found that the speed had a closer relationship with the noise rather than the traffic volume. Therefore, to decrease road noise, it is more important to control traffic speed. The spatial effect of road traffic noise within the apartment complexes was used in the case study to derive location-specific adjustment values. We surveyed the road traffic noise of three apartment complexes, and found that the road traffic noise within each complex was affected at plane level as well as at three-dimensionally. In other words, as the distance from the sound origin grows farther, noise level decreases. Also, it was found that noise increases as heigt goes up, but drops when the height goes beyond a certain level, and that the effect of noise decreases if there are obstacles along the path of the noise direction. Therefore, apartment site design should be done with consideration of the effects of noise in the future.

An indoor localization approach using RSSI and LQI based on IEEE 802.15.4 (IEEE 802.15.4기반 RSSI와 LQI를 이용한 실내 위치추정 기법)

  • Recently, Fingerprint approach using RSSI based on WLAN has been many studied in order to construct low-cost indoor localization systems. Because this technique is relatively evaluated non-precise positioning technique compared with the positioning of Ultra-Wide-Band(UWB), the performance of the Fingerprint based on WLAN should be continuously improved to implement various indoor location. Therefore, this paper presents a Fingerprint approach which can improve the performance of localization by using RSSI and LQI contained IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The advantages of these techniques are that the characteristics of each location is created more clearly by utilizing RSSI and LQI and Fingerprint technique is improved by using the modified Euclidean distance method. The experimental results which are applied in NLOS indoor environment with various obstacles show that the accuracy of localization is improved to 22% compared to conventional Fingerprint.

Mechanism of Omni-directional Personal Mobility Vehicle with Diagonal Driving (대각선 주행이 가능한 전방향 개인용 이동수단용 메커니즘)

  • In this paper, a mechanism of an omni-directional personal mobility which can drive diagonally is proposed. Mobility is a prerequisite involved in basic human life and activities. Personal mobility vehicle is a new mobility method which overcome the limits of automobiles. However, personal mobilities with four wheeled structure still have limitations. The proposed personal mobility vehicle can overcome the limitations of mobility because its rear wheels can be steered omni-directionally. In addition, the handicapped can drive it through a narrow road such as an alleyway or corridor and avoid obstacles on the traveling route. The proposed mechanism of personal mobility and the steering performance are tested by experiments, and the feasibility of diagonal driving is verified.

  • Recently, the technologies related to autonomous drive has studying the goal for safe operation and prevent accidents of vehicles. There is radar and camera technologies has used to detect obstacles in these autonomous vehicle research. Now a day, the method for using LiDAR sensor has considering to detect nearby objects and accurately measure the separation distance in the autonomous navigation. It is calculates the distance by recognizing the time differences between the reflected beams and it allows precise distance measurements. But it also has the disadvantage that the recognition rate of object in the atmospheric environment can be reduced. In this paper, point cloud data by triangular functions and Line Regression model are used to implement measurement algorithm, that has improved detecting objects in real time and reduce the error of measuring separation distances based on improved reliability of raw data from LiDAR sensor. It has verified that the range of object detection errors can be improved by using the Python imaging library.

Development of a General Purpose Simulator for Evaluation of Vehicle LIDAR Sensors and its Application (차량용 라이다 센서의 평가를 위한 범용 시뮬레이터 개발 및 적용)

  • In the development of autonomous vehicles, the importance of LIDAR sensors becomes larger. For sensor selection or algorithm development, it is difficult to test expensive LIDAR sensors mounted on a vehicle under various driving environment. In this study, we developed a simulator that is generally applicable for various vehicle LIDAR sensors based on the generalized geometric modeling of the common processes associated with vehicle LIDAR sensors. By configuring this simulator with the specific sensors being widely used, we performed the data simulation and quality analysis. Also, we applied the simulation data to obstacle detection and evaluated the applicability of the selected sensor. The developed simulator enables various experiments and algorithm development in parallel with hardware implementation prior to the deployment and operation of a sensor.

  • IoT is attracting attention as the development of the Internet and the spread of smart devices are rapidly increasing worldwide. As IoT is integrated into everyday life, the market is getting bigger. So, experts predict that IoT devices will grow to more than one trillion in a decade. Techniques related to IoT are also being developed steadily, and studies are underway to develop IoT in various fields. However, vendors launching IoT services do not interact with data from other platforms. Therefore, it is limited to growing into a big market by facing the obstacle called the silo phenomenon. To solve this problem, web technology attracts attention. Web technology can interact with data regardless of platform, and it can not only develop various services using the data, but also reduce unnecessary costs for developers. In this paper, we have studied a web - based open IoT system that can transmit data independently in real time to the IoT platform.

  • 국내에서의 범람홍수 및 범람으로 인한 제방붕괴 특성은 그 해석상의 어려움으로 인해 주로 과거 범람상황 및 지형도를 통한 경험적 추정 등에 의존해 오고 있는 실정으로 정교한 물리학적 이론에 근거하지 못하였으므로 범람홍수량, 제방의 붕괴폭 등을 정확하게 예측하기에는 미흡한 점이 많았다. 도시하천과 같이 제방 인접한 곳에 주거, 산업시설 등이 밀집하고 있는 지역에서의 제방붕괴로 인한 홍수류의 범람은 막대한 인명 및 재산피해를 발생시키는 큰 재해가 될 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해서 홍수시 제방월류로 인한 제방붕괴 양상을 예측하고 이를 통해 범람유량의 정확한 예측을 통하여 도시하천 제방 계획시 홍수피해와 투자액을 감안한 경제적인 하천 제방단면 결정을 위한 기본자료로 활용될 수 있고, 도시 중요시설물의 입지 선정시 홍수피해에 대한 판단자료로 이용될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서 개발된 모형을 이용하여 Teton 댐, Mantaro landslide 댐, Spirit Lake 장애물 댐 등에 적용하여 개발된 모형의 정확성을 입증하였다. 적용결과 개발된 모형은 기존의 모형과 같은 결과를 나타내어 국내 계산환경에 적용가능함을 보여 앞으로 이용가능성이 큰것을 알 수 있었다. 적용결과 파이핑의 발생위치의 영향은 대체로 파이핑의 위치가 제체의 윗부분에 위치할수록 최대 유출량은 커지는 것으로 나타났으나 Lawn Lake 댐의 경우에는 사면의 식생의 영향으로 다른 결과를 나타내었다. 점착력은 경우에는 점착력이 클수록 유출량의 크기는 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며 마찰각은 최대 붕괴폭의 크기 및 발생시간, 댐의 높이와 폭, 저수용량 등과 유출량이 연관있어 좀 더 많은 계산결과를 이용하여 심도있는 고찰이 요구되었다. 입자의 중간크기, 공극률, 균일성의 경우 적용된 댐들 모두 유사한 결과를 나타내었고 변수들이 커질수록 유출량도 증가하였다. 댐 사면 경사의 경우에는 상,하류 사면 모두 경사가 완만할수록 유출량이 감소하였다. 위의 결과를 통해 개발된 제방붕괴 해석모형은 좀 더 많은 연구와 적용을 통해 개선과 검증이 이루어진다면 국내 제방붕괴해석에 필요한 해석모형이 될 수 있다고 판단되었다.

Distributed Task Assignment Algorithm for SEAD Mission of Heterogeneous UAVs Based on CBBA Algorithm (CBBA 기반 SEAD 임무를 위한 이종무인기의 분산형 임무할당 알고리듬 연구)

  • This paper presents a distributed task assignment algorithm for the suppression of enemy air defense (SEAD) mission of heterogeneous UAVs, based on the consensus-based bundle algorithm (CBBA). SEAD mission can be modeled as a task assignment problem of multiple UAVs performing multiple air defense targets, and UAVs performing SEAD mission consist of the weasel for destruction of enemy's air defense system and the striker for the battle damage assessment (BDA) or other tasks. In this paper, a distributed task assignment algorithm considering path-planning in presence of terrain obstacle is developed for heterogeneous UAVs, and then it is applied to SEAD mission. Through numerical simulations the performance and the applicability of the proposed method are tested.
