  • The purpose of this study is to identify priority factors for improving service quality of cosmetic stores in drug stores(DRS) and department stores(DES) and to provide basic data for improving service quality of cosmetic stores by analyzing the service quality based on the Kano model and the Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement (PCSI) Index. As a result, most items of quality factors of cosmetic stores in both stores were evaluated as attractive quality factors. As a result of PCSI Index comparison, the quality factors of 'Reliability', 'Responsiveness', and 'Empathy' items for DRS and 'Empathy' and 'Reliability' items for DES had higher priority for improvement. That is, if these factors are improved, there is a high potential to improve customer satisfaction. Through this study, practical implications were provided by identifying service quality factor classification and priorities for customer satisfaction improvement of DRS and DES. This is expected to contribute to the guidelines for improving customer satisfaction in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of experience characteristics of cosmetics brand stores on purchase intention through brand value and product in-store expectations. In addition, by identifying the effects of gender regulation, the study aimed to supplement theoretical studies and to provide practical implications on the experience of cosmetics brand stores. First, we presented educational experiences, aesthetic experiences, and playful experiences as experience characteristics in stores. And we assumed the effect of these experience characteristics on the brand value and the expectation of the product in the store, and the effect of the brand value and the expectation on the purchase intention of the product in the store. 279 data were collected from consumers who had visited cosmetics brand stores, and we analyzed them using structural equation analysis. As a result, both experience characteristics have positive effects on brand value and in-store product expectations, and brand value has positive effects on expectations. In addition, brand value and in-store product expectations have a positive effect on in-store product purchase intention. In moderating effects of gender, the effect of playful experience on brand value is greater in male group, and the impact of educational and aesthetic experience on product expectations is greater in female group. These results contribute to the theoretical expansion of experience research on cosmetic brand stores, and provide strategic implications for experience marketing of cosmetic stores.

Third, as a result of examining the moderating effect of familiarity on the relationship between service quality and visit intention of unmanned cosmetics stores, usefulness, ease, and playfulness were all statistically insignificant, indicating that there was no moderating effect of familiarity. As a result of the above, in order to increase the familiarity, which has the greatest influence on the intention to visit, marketing should be presented emphasizing the promotion or advertisement of unmanned cosmetics stores.

  • This study intends to explore the relationship between export motivating factors and export channel-structure. Two proactive motivating factors (market-opportunity development and productivity improvement) and one reactive motivating factor (business-risk hedge) were extracted from the survey data collected from Korean exporting firms. The data show that the two proactive motives enhance the likelihood of using the export channels that allow strong controls over export-marketing activities. This study also finds that these proactive motives tend to increase the amount of relationship investment in an export distribution channel.

Accordingly, a personalized store management tool needs through prediction of customers' preference. In this study, we propose a recommending procedure using dynamic customers' preference by analyzing the transaction database. We utilize self-organizing map algorithm and association rule mining which are applied to cluster the chain stores and explore purchase sequence of customers. We demonstrate that the proposed methodology makes an effect on recommendation of products in the market which is characterized by a fast fashion and a short product life cycle.
