Estimation of the DMT Utility Function Using SP Survey (SP 조사기법을 이용한 화물별 DMT(Dual Mode Trailer) 효용함수 추정)

  • The objective of this paper is to estimate the DMT utility function for the transportation mode choice using SP survey. With the freight OD data the estimated utility function can be used as a basic data for forecasting DMT market. 3 alternatives of transportation mode are considered in SP survey; railway, road and DMT. The utility functions are developed according to the freight items, which are container, steel and chemical product. In this study the attribute variable are chosen as time, cost and reliability. The number of level for attribute variables are 3. The high valve is determined as +10% above the standard and the low value -20% below the standard.

  • The pattern of urban transport activity has two major components: the movement of people and the movement of goods. Roads in urban areas carry large number of trucks laden with goods that support urban economy and lifestyle. Therefore urban goods movement plays a vital role, but at the same time, urban goods movement are an important source of congestion, and a major contributor to the adverse environmental and social impacts of urban transport. In addition, the demand for goods movement is growing at a faster rate than personal travel in many cities, due to changes in industry logistics and consumer purchasing patterns. As a result, the significance of urban freight activity is increasing in terms of both its role in urban economy and its adverse impacts on urban amenity. This study is focused on the role and involvement scope of metropolitan government in urban logistics aimed at increasing its efficiency and reducing its negative impacts. The major suggestions of this study are (a) development of a measure of urban goods movement activity, (b) evaluation of data requirements and availability, (c) dialogue between the public sector and private sector, and (d) the role of metropolitan government.

Feasibility Study on Introduction of Piggy-back System by Applying Transport Database

  • In this study, The goal is to analyze the feasibility of introducing a Piggyback system that can reduce the time and cost incurred by transshipment work and improve the transportation speed when transporting complex cargo by rail. To this end, the feasibility analysis methodology is reviewed through domestic and international literature review. In order to quantitatively derive the feasibility analysis values, a transportation database was applied to develop a freight transport simulation model and a freight demand prediction model for major freight transport O-D routes with a transportation distance of 200 km or more. As a result of analyzing economic feasibility by setting the analysis period to 15 years on the premise that the Piggyback System will be introduced on major cargo transport O-D routes in 2025, the NPV value was positive and the B/C value was 1.18, indicating that the Piggyback system was economical. The proposed research method can be meaningful data for establishing transportation policies that can improve the competitiveness of railroad transportation.

  • Interest and demand in heavy cargo logistics is increasing and becoming more diverse as economic scales have expanded and manufacturing activity has increased. Although cargo moves via maritime and/or land transportation, there is currently insufficient research on the actual condition of heavy cargo logistics. The purpose of this study is to carry out an in-depth analysis of heavy cargo laws, systems, logistics patterns, and current transportation status. By proposing measures to solve existing problems, this study aims to make an important and ongoing contribution to the scarcely studied field of heavy cargo logistics. The result of regression analysis on the main seven factors show that transportation frequency and law/system structure have a positive effect on working conditions. Furthermore, the result of correlation analysis on the main seven factors show that the cargo weight variable is highly positively correlated with cargo size. Also, the working conditions variable is highly positively correlated with the law/system structure. Detailed proposal measures to solve existing problems are summarized as follows. First, it is necessary to establish a clear concept of heavy cargo as numerous existing definitions differ. Second, laws and provisions relating to maritime and land transportation of heavy cargo need to be established and consolidated as current applicable legislation is insufficient. Third, the classification system for heavy cargo transportation needs improvement. Fourth, it is necessary to improve transportation performance statistics and the aggregate criteria system. Finally, the management system of heavy cargo also needs improvement.

  • 2012년 상용화가 목표인 국내 위그선 개발은 화물운송과 여객운송에 큰 변화를 가져올 것으로 판단된다. 특히 부산은 일본과의 여객에서 수요가 클 것으로 판단되며 이에 2012년 이후 상용화에 위그선 터미널 등 관계시설을 계획할 필요가 있지만 현재까지 북항재개발계획에 포함시키자는 단순 논의만 있을뿐 뚜렷한 계획이 없는 실정이다. 위그선의 경우 속도가 빨라서 현실적으로 북항지역에 터미널을 생성시 어려움이 있을것으로 판단되며 이에 현재 영도 동삼동 크루즈터미널이 북항재개발 지역에 신규 크루즈터미널이 만들어진 후 여유가 있을것으로 판단되어 이를 활용화할 필요가 있다. 이률 위해 영도 태종대와 롯데월드를 잇는 관광벨트와 부산역과 연계된 열차화물수송을 적극 활용할 수 있게 영도 경전철을 고려해 볼 필요가 있다.

Origin/Destination and Portfolio Analysis of Sea&Air Intermodal Transportation (해공(Sea&Air)복합운송의 유통경로 및 포트폴리오 분석)

  • The demand of international intermodal transportation is continuously increasing in accordance with a changing environment on international logistics, Under this circumstance, the Sea&Air intermodal transportation, combined by sea-based and air-based transport, has a potential growth in the future. After analyzing routes for Origin/Destination and implementing portfolio analysis, finally, this research aims to propose alternatives to create additional customers(or cargoes) for the Sea&Air transport. As a result of the analyses, China appeared to be a major customer of the Sea&Air transport in Korea because some of the Chinese areas - i.e. Qingdao, Shanghai, Weihai and Yantai - account for 88.1% of the total throughput. In general, this indicates that it would be more efficient to establish specific strategies targeting those major areas. Excluding the four areas, most of the other area, have much less demands and are relatively unstable. The demands, growth rates and market shares especially in Vladivostok, Dandong and Tianjinxingang are on the decrease, and therefore, stable strategies seems to be appropriate than aggressive strategies for these areas.

  • The concern of Global warming and greenhouse gas emission has been issuing so many countries are trying to establish environmental friendly logistics policies. With this trend, several technical and operational methods are developed to realize green logistics way. In Korea, government promoted converting LNG cargo vehicles and constructed LNG station at Dajeon, Pohang, Gwangyang, Incheon, and Donghae as a national project. In spite of economic and environmental advantages, this project was not successful enough, even the project was cancelled. So, this paper seeks the reason why the project was failed and find if there were enough capacity and numbers of LNG stations, then analyze the problem.

Prediction Oil and Gas Throughput Using Deep Learning

  • 97.5% of our country's exports and 87.2% of imports are transported by sea, making ports an important component of the Korean economy. To efficiently operate these ports, it is necessary to improve the short-term prediction of port water volume through scientific research methods. Previous research has mainly focused on long-term prediction for large-scale infrastructure investment and has largely concentrated on container port water volume. In this study, short-term predictions for petroleum and liquefied gas cargo water volume were performed for Ulsan Port, one of the representative petroleum ports in Korea, and the prediction performance was confirmed using the deep learning model LSTM (Long Short Term Memory). The results of this study are expected to provide evidence for improving the efficiency of port operations by increasing the accuracy of demand predictions for petroleum and liquefied gas cargo water volume. Additionally, the possibility of using LSTM for predicting not only container port water volume but also petroleum and liquefied gas cargo water volume was confirmed, and it is expected to be applicable to future generalized studies through further research.

  • 산업이 발달되고 경제가 발전됨에 따라 화물의 수송, 교통 인구의 처리, 신속한 업무 처리를 위한 수다느오서 문명의 이기인 자동차의 필요성은 더욱 절실히 요구되고 있으며 아울러 그 수요는 매년 폭발적으로 증가일로에 있다. 또한 정부의 강력한 국내 산업의 중공업화 방침에 의거 자동차 산업이 종합 산업이기 때문에 금속, 기계, 전기, 전자, 화공, 요업 등 거의 모든 산업분야와 관련되어 있어 각분야를 고르게 발전 시킬수 있기 때문이며 따라서 많은 정책적 지원하에서 급성장하고 있는 것이다. 그러면 이와같이 생활 필수품화 되어가고 있는 자동차에 사용되고 있는 전기전자 관계부품과 장치에는 어떠한 것이 있으며 각 부품의 기능과 역활에 대해서 간략하게 서술해 보고자 한다.

  • 최근 국내 및 세계운송시장은 경제성장 및 항공산업의 발달로 인해 증가하는 여객 및 화물 수요에 따른 항공수요를 감당하기위하여 신규 항공사의 설립, 노선의 확충, 신규항공기의 도입 등으로 지속적인 성장을 거듭하고 있다. 이러한 성장세에 따라 ICAO는 2030년 까지 약 980,799명의 조종인력이 부족할 것으로 전망하고 있으며 부족한 인력의 수급을 위해 국제기구, 국가차원의 연구 활동 및 조종사 양성사업을 진행하고 있다. 이에 따라 세계 및 국내 항공사에서도 지속적인 항공조종인력을 충원하고 있지만 숙련된 고급인력의 부족에 따른 어려움 있으며 기존 조종인력의 유출 또한 심각한 문제로 대두 되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 조종인력의 채용현황, 요구조건의 분석을 통하여 보다 현실적이며 효율적인 수급방안에 관하여 제언하고자한다.
