Arcs are usually treated as significant features in the field of pattern recognition. This paper presents a method to detect arcs from digital planar curves and estimate their arc centers and radii by using geometric analysis. The deviation of distance between the original curve and the detected arc by the proposed method does not exceed a tolerant error. The experimental results show that the proposed method is available for the detection of arcs iron not only smooth but also heavily noisy curves.

The detected arcs by the cone intersection(CI) method exist within a tolerant error from the original curve. But the position of breakpoint by the CI method is sensitive to the tolerant error. The deviation of breakpoint position makes ill effects to the detection of arc center or radius. In this paper a improved CI method for center detection and arc segmentation is proposed. The detected arcs from curves by the proposed method have very stable mean of deviations from the original curves. The experimental results show that the position of breakpoint by the proposed method is closer to real position than the one by other methods.

다이오드의 소신호 및 대신호 파라미터 추출은 DC 해석, 외부 기생 소자 추출, 마지막으로 5-파라미터에 의한 내부소자 추출로 이루어진다. DC IV-곡선과 S-파라미터의 curve-fitting으로 내부 파라미터를 구하였고 외부 기생소자는 바이어스에 따라 변하지 성질을 이용하였다. 사용된 소자는 Schottky diode는 SIEMENS사의 BAS125를, Varactor diode는 SONY사의 1t362를, PIN diode는 Hitachi사의 HVM14S를 모델로 사용하였다. 실측을 위해 사용된 소자는 각각 HP사의 HSMS-2822, SONY사의 1t362, HP사의 HSMP-3834을 이용하여 측정하였다.

In order to make natural food color from Gardenia, we investigated optimal conditions of color extraction, and thermal stability and light stability of color extracted compared with Yellow-4. In case of ethanol extraction, optimal conditions for color extraction were substrate 10%, 4$0^{\circ}C$, pH 7.0 and 42rs, respectively. In case of water extraction, optimal conditions for color extraction were substrate 10%, 7$0^{\circ}C$, pH 7.0 and 48hrs, respectively. Extraction yield in the optimal conditions was 75% in ethanol and 63% in water. The thermal stability and light stability of Yellow-4 were both upper 98%, but those of Gardenia yellow color were 62 and 90%, respectively.

The Hough transform is a popular method for ellipse detection from image. But the method wastes time and memory space severely. And the existing methods for elliptical arc segmentation are very sensitive to noise or detect improper breakpoints. In this paper a fast method is proposed for the segmentation and detection of elliptical arcs from digital curve using its area. Experimental results show that the proposed method segments and detects elliptical arcs from noisy curves and the average of the distance errors between the fitted arc and given curve is within a threshold.

In this paper, the development of large-signal model extractor for GaAs FET device through the Monolithic Microwave integrated Circuit(MMIC) is presented. The measurement program controlled by personal computer is developed for the processing of an amount of measured data, and the de-embedding algorithm is added to the program for voltage dropping as attached series resistance on measurement system. The small-signal model parameters are typically consisted of 7 elements that are considered as complexity of large-signal model and its the accuracy of the small-signal model is verified through comparing with measured data as varied bias point. The fitting function model, one of the empirical model, is used for quick simulation. In the process of large-signal model parameter extraction, one-dimensional optimization method is proposed and optimized parameters are extracted. This study can reduce the modeling and measuring time and can secure a suitable model for circuit.

The water extracts and 80% ethanol extracts from mulberry leaves of 108 kinds were tested their antimicrobial activities against Helicobacter pylori and antioxidant effects. The ABTS [2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiaznoline-6-sulfornic acid)] radical decolorization, electron donating ability (EDA), thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) and antioxidant protection factor (PF) were determined for water extracts and 80% ethanol extracts from mulberry leaves. In the electron donating activity, the 13 kinds of water extracts showed high inhibition (>80%), whereas the 59 kinds of 80% ethanol extracts showed high inhibition. The inhibitory activities of water extracts from all kinds of mulberry leaves were higher than 90% in ABTS [2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiaznoline-6-sulfornic acid)] radical decolorization. The thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) and antioxidant protection factor (PF) of the 80% ethanol extracts were higher than that of water extracts. Antimicrobial activity against Helicobacter pylori showed high value in 80% ethanol extracts of 15 kinds mulberry leaves. The results implied that the mulberry leaves can be useful for natural antimicrobial medicine.

본 논문에서는 칼라 영상을 이용하여 인간의 감성을 인식할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 칼라 영상으로부터 피부색 추출방법을 이용하여 얼굴을 추출한다 그 다음, 추출된 얼굴 영상으로부터 인간 얼굴의 특징 점(눈썹, 눈, 코, 입)들을 추출하는 방법과 각 특징 점들 간의 구조적인 관계로부터 인간의 감성(기쁨, 놀람, 슬픔, 분노)을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 퍼지 추론을 기반으로 하여 인간의 감성을 인식한다. 마지막으로, 제안된 방법은 실험을 통해 그 응용 가능성을 확인한다.

We propose a novel structure of wavelength selective optical add/drop filter comprising two tap couplers and a fiber Bragg grating. The device has unique features including a simpler structure and a lower cost implementation as compared with existing device for the same operation. The filter performance has been measured and analyzed, experimentally. The implemented prototype filter shows good performance with no­crosstalk power penalty in a 155Mbps per channel wavelength­division­multiplexing transmission system but suffers from a relatively high loss of 3.5㏈ and 21㏈ for transmitted and dropped channel, respectively. While the dropped channel extinction ratio was more than 15㏈, the transmitted channel extinction ratio was more than 26㏈.
